      Yes, on several occasions. They are spectacular.
      But I did miss directly seeing the one that lit up the sky for a large portion of Southern Michigan a few years ago. But I did marvel at the sudden daylight without a thunderstorm. 😉

    in the summertime I went with my friends in dark places to see shooting stars and it's wonderfull.

I thought before that shooting star are very rare to see but there was a time when me and my friends hanging out in the middle of the sea at night because there is a floating cottage here in my place and I can't sleep that night so I decided to watch the sky full of stars and I was shock when I see a shooting star and it will drop every minute sometime they drop at the same time so I havn't sleep the whole night bc of that wonderful moment of my life

    The reason why it happens is because the jinn ‘spirits’ try eavesdropping to see the news on what’s happening in earth, so God ‘Allah’ sends shooting stars at them
    “˹Earlier˺ we tried to reach heaven ˹for news˺, only to find it filled with stern guards and shooting stars.
    We used to take up positions there for eavesdropping, but whoever dares eavesdrop now will find a flare lying in wait for them.
    Now, we have no clue whether evil is intended for those on earth, or their Lord intends for them what is right.’ Quran 72:7-10

    NatGeo - appreciate you and the challenged posed by illustrating this topic, but your quality control is really slipping - as others have noted in the comments, many, if not the vast majority of your night sky scenes allegedly depicting meteor showers are nothing more than long exposure sequences of aircraft - planes and helicopters (mostly planes), and satellites. Some even leave contrails and change direction! There are other more accurate resources available - especially to your esteemed organization (I grew up watching your documentaries on TV - they inspired me - I'm no hater), so I simply ask you reach higher next time.

    I love this video. Ham radio operators have devised a way to make communications via the trails of meteorites as they go through the ionosphere charging it for a very short time. It becomes just enough time to make contact with other people as far away as 1000 km.
    I would love to use this video as part of a special show devoted to describing “meteor scatter Communications.”
    I will of course credit National Geographic as well as this video in the description section of my video.
    If there is any problem with me showing my ham radio audience this video, please let me know.
    I don’t want to do anything that would be wrong here.
    Thank you for a brilliant and short illustration about meteor showers and when they happen. This is so helpful for our scientific community.

    All meteors go down towards the horizon or go horizontal. Show me one that goes up. This is another proof that we live on stationary flat plane.

    • @savagequeen599
      @savagequeen599 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no one that goes up because they will not fall if they goes up bc there is no gravity above

    • @m.b5777
      @m.b5777 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@savagequeen599 it seems like you don't know much about the globe Earth model. Gravity is not real. Even if it was real the moon or sun's gravity should have pulled the meteors

    • @savagequeen599
      @savagequeen599 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nope......my point is that earth and outer space are different. And how can u see star that goes up, like, hello were on earth. Were talking about star not earth. And also you said that gravity doesn't exist...how? why? are u floating in ur place? All massive objects attracts each other by gravity, and this also allows Newton to explain the movement of the celestial bodies. Newton's theory on gravity works extraordinarily well, so you may well think that, yes, gravity must exist.

    About 18 months ago, my family and I were talking, standing roughly 100 ft from some RR tracks. Then a meteor hit, right about where the tracks were.
    We didn’t hear anything at all. We were so mesmerized by the bright flames.
    Once it landed, it was like it hadn’t happened. It was so quick and there wasn’t any aftermath as far as the eye could see. I will never forget that day.

      Same... I witness too In our own eyes.. Sadly we didn't see the real formed bcoz of clouds above us.. But we witness how bright light scattered above then back to dark again maybe that star back to heaven w/O any trace nor sounds less than 0.3 sec.. it's just so mesmerized to witness that thing... Even me cnt explains of what I see.

  • @GeocentricKingdom
    @GeocentricKingdom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You've got to be joking. All those time lapses, and you people believe those are shooting stars? Those are planes. THINK about it. Normally when a plane traverses the sky, it takes a long while. They appear to be moving slowly across the sky. Shooting stars in real time zip by in less than a second. During a TIME LAPSE film, the shooting stars would hardly be noticeable because of how fast they appear and disappear. Planes/jets on the other hand appear to move much faster in a time lapse, such as what you see in this video. You can even see one of them change course at 1:25. At 2:14 you can even see one of those "shooting stars" leaving a chemtrail behind it! Also, when have you ever seen a shooting star go completely across the sky? If that happens it must be very rare. Every shooting star I've ever seen only appears for a brief moment and covers a mere fraction of the sky. The majority of lights seen in this video are aircraft.

    In Quran Allah says in (Surah al-Mulk)
    5. “And We have beautified the lower heaven with lanterns, and We made them missiles against the devils(stoning), and We have prepared for them the suffering of the Blaze.”
    Meteors were mentioned in Quran as a stone for stoning the Devil.
    And another thing was mentioned in(Al-Rahman)
    “(0 genera of Jinns(devils) and mankind, If you are able to penetrate beyond the realms of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate. You cannot penetrate except with an authority....55:33).
    So this means that our sky is protected by missiles to prevent evil and mankind to escape from earth and the sky was also mentioned in the Quran as the “Guarded overheads” aka the atmosphere envelope that protect earth from the heat waves of the sun.
    Notice: the nearest heaven is our sky and space according to the other verses of the Quran
    So anyone still believing that Nasa landed on the Moon is completely wrong only their space ships can go.
