    My experience says ,don’t weld it up with the plug in ,unless you want to go several sizes bigger on the step drill the second time ,try to weld it up slow ,then run tap thru with some oil ,just saying ,made that mistake before ,not a happy ending !!! Thank You for your videos !!!

    You'll see us use an AEM wideband gauge to tune carbs and plug the bung afterwards, makes life SO much easier. That welding is gorgeous!

      Thanks Brother... but, the welding is just OK, ha, ha... I've done better. Crazy how the skill leaves your body, if you haven't done it in a long while. It's NOT like riding a bike. Thanks for chiming in!

    Hi Monty! Good instructional on this project. I don't have a tig/mig so I will order the nice clamp one from Holley that is Earl's product for $35. I want an AF gauge for my Holley 750 cfm carb set-up. Thanks, and I like how humble you are. Cheers from Motown!

      Thanks Robert! Glad you liked it... Great idea to add an Air/Fuel Ratio gauge... thanks for the comment!

    Soooo.... my wife walked in right when you were finishing a sentence with the word ‘bong’.... I’m currently getting some major side eye! 🤣

      Ha! I debated playing with that, including, "where's your bung hole?" Gotta keep em on their toes!

    I'm planing to install an o2 sensor on my old k jet volvo. do I need to get an ecu as well? or is it just enough with the sensor and an AF wideband? newbie here. Greetings from Peru

      Greetings from the US... An Oxygen sensor is for the Fuel Injection throttle body I Installed, which has a computer in it. Not sure what you're trying to do, unless you're just reading your Air Fuel ratio? That would just require the matching gauge for the sensor. Hope that helps.

    • @machodrilo
      @machodrilo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FastMonty yeah, that's the idea. Not going for the full electronic injection upgrade, just want to read the af ratio and keep proper mixture adjustment.

      @@machodrilo Awesome! The Gauge should come with the O2 sensor... I do NOT know if its the same as the O2 sensor and bung I just installed. Let us know!

    Mike have you had any issues with your car running hot? And do you have a 3 or 4 core radiator?
    Thank you

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Bill. No. My car doesn't exceed 185. (That's when the fans kick in) I also have a 165 degree thermostat, and a Be Cool radiator. It's probably a four core. Here's the link... www.summitracing.com/parts/bci-81008/make/pontiac

    Tac 4 spots on it so it doesn’t warp then finish it focusing on the bung not the pipe

    I used a drill bit on my dremel to get a hole and then slowly widened it.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would work... thanks for the comment!

    So in watching your video on the drive line installed , I noticed your probably a draftsman or something to do with mechanical drawing because of the brand of pencil and paper you used to illustrate your angle . I myself studied drafting in junior college but never graduated due to my lack of mathematical skills. Any way just wanted to share that with you.

      Good catch John! Yeah, I went to school for Mechanical Engineering. I still work in the field of automation, but in business development. I do miss drawing, and 3D modeling, etc... hence me always wanting to draw the scenario. Ha, ha... thanks for watching!

    GOOD VID. WHAT BRAND & WHAT TYPE O2 SENSOR WILL U INSTALL, A3/4-WIRE HEATED OR WHAT. I JUST INSTALLED LONG TUBE HEADERS ON MY 89 BIG BLOCK GM TRUCK W/FUEL INJECTION. THE ENGINE IS VERY SLOW GOING INTO CLOSED. I WAS TOLD I NEED A HEATED O2 SENSOR. HELP.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with a FiTech system. I did a full install playlist on it... most old school fuel injection conversion systems come with an O2 sensor. I'd research which one works with your system. Good luck!

    Leaving the plug in while welding would act as a heat sink,I’ve seen it done with a bolt as well

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! Thanks Michael! Yeah, I like to bolt trick, as you can get a longer bolt for better heat control. Thanks again!
