That's actually what makes me happy that Sonic Mania uses so many gimmicks and ideas from Sonic CD, since there's a lot of stuff in that game that just doesn't get to shine because of its really weird level design and ideas. There are some interesting level ideas that would've been lost to CD forever if Mania didn't come around!

That "Xaoh" (can't really replicate it using text) noise from the electric double jump sounds like the robo guys in Abe's Oddyssey. Or at least the remastered one, can't really say much for the original due to not having played it, sadly.

in the act 2 hydrocity boss phase 2 or the boss in sonic 3 hydrocity zone i have a technique that i havent seen used in any sonic mania/sonic 3 speedruns or playthroughs so maybe i could get the patent one day but the technique is once eggman tries to spin you in the water, mash the spindash while facing right when he is about to do itand once you are off screen slowly mash the left arrow/left button and you will be hitting him alot while he tries to get you trapped in the water, I think this technique should be used more often in speedruns of sonic 3/mania.
Good thing a certain glitch did not happen in the battery. If you slow down in 31:52 to 31:54 you will go backward and glitch through a bar.

So with the hyrdrocity act 1 boss I always thought you had to get the bomb first then eggman when I actually did what I thought was right in one of my many game replays I finally learned it was wrong

I have a love-hate relationship with Mania. When I played Generations and Forces he was much harder to control than Modern Sonic. But this was still an awesome run!
Edit: Did I fail to mention that in Generations the Classic levels took almost twice as long as the Modern ones for me?

William Knight Yeah, Spike can be really loud, but his commentary is really clear and consistent, and he has a great sense of humour.
He should couch for more runs with awkward or quiet Speedrunners so I can actually understand what's happening.
