Dude, I grew up with these games! Now my friends and I can play from our own homes! As a busy man and father of 2 I don't get more then a few hours a week to play anything but have always liked these c&c games. I greatly appreciate you sharing this update how to play online!
Mate from Australia and I used to use Hamachi back when this came out. We both snagged ZH asap when it launched. We had so many hours of fun on comp stomps and doing outlandishly stupid stuff.

C&C Online is not working for me because I never receive a confirmation email to be able to login, and when I play using Game Ranger or Radmin VPN on a network, I get a message after some time in the game that says a mismatch has been detected and it kicks us out of the game
@@sthegamer1 for c&cOnline try joining their discord and asking there, i saw some other people had had that problem. for the others I'm not sure what causes that, but make sure you're on the same version of the game. best to run genPatcher on both
Gen Patchcer just, isnt Patching every time i re-open it it says the fixes havnt been applied so I apply them, close it and re-open it and they arnt applied anymore how do I fix this?
i cant link zero hour to gameranger. says invalid option please select C&C Zero hour.. which is what im doing. downloaded via steam. downloaded genpatch and tool. gameranger just wont see zero hour... any ideas??
@@nemanjavujicic4784 each game really has its own solution for playing online. I have a few other guides for other c&c games but for the most part each game is different
go to the game options in Game Ranger and check the launch path for the game is correct for where you have the steam version installed. 'Browse' for the steam install if needed
Hi, me and my friends have just started playing and it's been awesome. We are running into some issues though. We are all able to connect to each other individually and run a game, but when we try to connect with 3 of us and run a game we experience disconnects and cannot load in. We are all using genpatcher with cnc-online and have all ticked the network optimization options. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
@@01462mike hmm you might try having a different person host. Try running without computer players. Maybe try the radmin if you don't need matchmaking on cnc-online
hi i have a question, i do have cnc generals zerohour by r.g mechanics. can i play online with it using gentool? or do i need to buy the original game from the steam?
Excited Steam released this C&C Generals Zero Hour game! Can anyone help me figure out how to use the Steam version of game with C&C Online (that forum hasn't answered this question, UGH) to set up Multiplayer with only friends who have the same Steam Version of the game after installing things like GenPatcher and GenTool, I'm talking about once running the game, creating a private game and only allowing friendds in so I can teach them how to play first as they never have played the game, and are not too familiar with RTS type games. Thanks!

@@KenLJr your friend got the error? you can try using a very simple password like just the letter c to avoid problems with confused passwords, but not sure what else could be the problem if you are using the same version. I'll look out for any other solution
Hi man, you are my last hope... after joining/hosting roome CnC is launched but just to the main menu from where i cannot join lobby or see other players
Hello, i want to play with my friend, he is at my place so we want to play over LAN, everything works but when we try to start the game he loads in and i don't, then after 60 seconds we both get kicked, we have searched for hours but couldn't find any solution, so he loads in and sees the map and then gets the disconnection screen and i am still in the loading screen and out of my POV he doesn't load in, hope you have an solution for it because we really wanna play it again
@@aqibawansadar4964 i think that exe is from first decade collection and was compiled differently. i think you just need to replace the exe with the one from the ultimate collection or use the no-cd exe from genpatcher
This is still, sadly, a rather absurd level of steps to go through for the average person. I won't be able to persuade my friends to watch and do this sadly.

Pretty stupid that they release the game without just giving it proper multiplayer.

genPatcher fixed that for me.
make sure you're selecting the actual game exe and not a shortcut
When this is done can i play other c&c/ red alert games? Just add them and it works?

yes i think those are still around. try installing the map packs that come with genPatcher
When i try to create an account on multiplayer tab it says unable to reach online servers after i put my credentials to make an account . Any idea?

we always get this error "please wait until steam has finished launching" I hope u can help

hi, i fail to download the map , it shows error code :E094 , is there anyway to fix this ? cause i try closing the window protection also same issue.

create a game with a password, then tell your friends the password. that way only they can join the game

What about the "Mismatch" error? Is it less frequent on CnC Online or Game Ranger?
i think that's different versions of the game. probably someone does not have genpatcher or someone is playing a mod

in gameRanger? try updating the game first with GenTool. GenPatcher gives it some more options too

I had to use tcpoptimizer for that. I think it's a problem with ipv5

@@KingofKekw radmin vpn would be your easiest solution. it's hard to find matches there, but easy enough to install and meet someone on there
i play with radmin vpn
nice. that was easy to use, but hard to find good games unless you're meeting people there
