Fun fact: the ability to cast an X spell for an odd mana value is called out by an example in the comprehensive rules themselves:
"601.3a If an effect prohibits a player from casting a spell with certain qualities, that player may consider any choices to be made during that spell’s proposal that may cause those qualities to change. If any such choices could cause that effect to no longer prohibit that player from casting that spell, the player may begin to cast the spell, ignoring the effect.
Example: A player controls Void Winnower, which reads, in part, “Your opponents can’t cast spells with even mana values.” That player’s opponent may begin to cast Rolling Thunder, a card whose mana cost is {X}{R}{R}, because the chosen value of X may cause the spell’s mana value to become odd."

Spells with X in their mana cost treat X as 0 anywhere but on the stack. Once on the stack it's MV is determined as whatever the chosen X is.
Tyler lost to his Summoner's Pact 17:07 , which he forgot to pay in his next upkeep. Im surprised nobody has caught this yet.

Kind of true. The Chimera would already have triggered, but he could then hold priority and activate Thrasios before passing priority on the Chimera trigger and eventually deciding whether or not to exchange the Chimera. But yeah, technically he should've acknowledged the trigger before activating Thrasios.

The Giver of Runes activation was still on the stack when Rift was played.

@Play to Win had a feeling. Great content as always. Gave me the feeling of when a roller coaster goes down the first hill when that fish dropped.
Tyler still won at the end but I'm wondering what's the thought process behind the crop rotation at th-cam.com/video/zkXQ3Y7ukhQ/w-d-xo.html. He was in a dominant position but having the crop countered means he loses a kinnan activation (and probably even more subsequently if he didn't have a replacement land). I don't play enough Kinnan to know what he was looking for but in terms of risk reward (assuming no replacement land in hand) was it worth?
Tyler was likely going to go get a Gaea's Cradle which would easily have allowed him to activate Kinnan multiple times a turn which would further his lead above everyone else.
I don't remember for sure but I think I was probably going for cradle and yeah I probably shouldn't have

wouldn't Kyle still have been able to untap two lands from the snap? I thought that you resolved as much of the spell as you can when resolving it on the stack. or am I mistaken?
If all the targets of a card are illegal at the point of resolution the spell fizzles. It doesn't resolve.
Since Snap's target is no longer on the battlefield(or even if it had just been given the protection from blue) it is no longer a legal target and since Snap only targets 1 creature, the spell does not resolve

20 minute game only for the player who went first and had a turn 1 Remora to win. Unfortunately this game felt like a train wreck in slow motion from the 7 minute mark when Tyler slammed a t4 Void Winnower lmao GGs to all the players for being good sports about it. You could tell they where just waiting for the win lol
