With the first chain targeting, say, Dylan’s sol ring, Dylan could’ve sacced a land to bounce his own signet, and then targeted one of Tyler’s mana rocks to get dockside off of enough mana to go bet positive with the loop every time.
Rocco is lowkey a broken deck tbh. If it wasn't for the fact that it didn't have blue, it would likely be up there with Najeela and Blue farm. Several different compact win lines in the deck, access to the best cards in the format right now sans Thoracle (Breach and Dockside); Commander is a one card combo etc.
tbf he got burned as heck by the two inquiry. Its more obvious when looking at kyle, but losing saga and summer then copy artifact, offer and noxious meant he was both slowed down for the win AND unable to stop the other attempts. Really big value play on Dylan's part.

That's not how X spells work, the extra cost added by Thalia doesn't increase the value of X, so an {X}{R}{R} spell for X=3 will cost you 6 mana: 2 red, 3 X, 1 Thalia tax. You are possibly confusing it with how Sunburst effects like Prismatic Ending works. If you cast Ending with X=0 and use a different color to pay for the Thalia tax, you get to exile a 2 CMC permanent because 2 colors were used to pay for the spell. X is still 0 in this case, it's just that Prismatic Ending only cares about number of colors used to pay for the spell. The X in this spell only exists to allow you to add more colors as you please.

Suggestion for Tyler's lovely Kinnan deck, it's a new card from March of the Machine called 'Urn of Godfire' It's a 1 mana generic artifact that has; pay 2 generic, add 1 mana of any color. & pay 6 generic tap and sacrifice it to destroy target creature or enchantment. Idk if he'll ever see this but i think it would be another perfect fit for the deck in-particular.
I don’t think Burning Inquiry is a great card, even in Kess lists. It’s a bad wheel. You don’t actually get card advantage, you’re giving everyone else 3 cards, and you don’t control what you discarded. Unlike a wheel, it’s not great at refilling your hand to keep your combo/storm turn going. Cast and point, discarding a Mox Diamond and Land plus that Chrome Mox puts you down on potential mana. And, it enabled Tyler to Mysic Tutor for Noxious Revival, which he could have used to put Basalt on top of his library a turn faster. Although it doesn’t happen, it’s a danger with so much top-of-the-library tutors in the format.
Correct me here but cam dropped cavern naming elf, then at the last turn cast rocco using cavern meaning Dylan’s FOW was unable to counter? Either way cam still got there!
I think Cam had already named elves off his cavern of souls right? So Dylan wouldn't have been able to counter the abolisher tutor. Not that it mattered really

I much prefer emiel with dockside, costs less mana overall and gets around rule of law effects. plus it's all instant speed with emiel. Rocco is such a fun deck, one of my favorites
@@EveWrideJohnson it most certainly does work. flickering a creature is a change of zones, which means you can move your commander to the command zone. Since when you flicker you first move the card to exile.
@@zachw5768 you can only put your commander in the command zone whenever state-based actions are checked, if your commander has changed zones since the last time they’ve been checked. This is a new-ish rule, where previously, you changed the zone as a replacement effect. The reason it doesn’t work is that state-based effects aren’t checked during the resolution of abilities, so you actually have no chance to put Rocco in the command zone.
Kinda tired of seeing Kinnan in every game. Can Tyler please play something else for some more videos, Kinnan is literally the most appeared deck on the channel. I think you guys could vary it up more with Tyler.
