Just like when fans are dissatisfied with a movie based on a comic superhero for any number of reasons, but still pay to see it. Stay the hell home, and/or don't buy the comic.
No. No they don't. This is the big mistake that people keep making. Their religion entirely literally worships power. This is why they don't write to gain for themselves (see also movies, video games, TTRPGs, etc.). They write to take from you. That's the big difference. To them, if they can force a character into something that you don't like, and you hate it, and they can keep it there anyway, that proves their power over you and thus their holiness.
There are still spidey fans who read the comics? I'm as big a fan as it gets, collected many key issues, wrote briefly for the top fan site, and I've haven't considered them consistently readable for a decade. They've been actively trying to chase away classic spider-fans for 20 years.
Zoomers who file under the following: • grew up watching Spectacular Spiderman • who watch Alex Lennon, MulletMan Comics or some other zoomer comics TH-camr • piraters And of course Gen X or Millennials who still need to buy their weekly addiction out of ritual purposes.
Good thing I gave up in comics years ago and rarely do I buy them unless they're collections or limited series. These comics ever since the end of the 2000s has been horrendous for the most part.
Hold on.. After marvel civil war and the illuminati ncrap story, you still believe marvel cares about its own continuity ? This is the same company that stubbornly refuses to publish john Byrne's elsewhen. Just focus on completing your collection by buying the pre-2005 comics
It’s definitely a humiliation ritual… I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, it’s like they’ve metaphorically chained these characters up and are torturing them, knowing it hurts us to see it. All very odd.
It's not odd when you understand that their religion literally worships power. They don't write to gain for themselves, they write to take from you. Their religion demands it. They will HAPPILY tear themselves apart if it means even a moment of opportunity to harm someone or something else.
I dropped it when he made a deal with the devil. It wasn't believable he would do it. Not only that is was a compromise a true hero wouldn't make. For instance in the Spiderman game he let's Aunt May die to have the ability to make more of the virus cure. It's like all the light left the character for me.
Some people think they'll replace 616 Spider-Man with the new Ultimate Spider-Man with a wife n kids. As much as I prefer Pete with MJ I think it would be a mistake like trying to replace Peter with Ben Reilly, we want OUR Peter to be married with actual character development and progress, not a clone, not a multiverse variant.
They're also going to use that as the excuse for why they willingly wrote this degrading bilge in the first place to escape accountability to the fans.
The hostility directed at Spider-Man has resulted in notable transformations within the Marvel universe, where he is celebrated as a leading hero. This negativity also affects his fanbase, leading to the introduction of new characters in the Spider-Man storyline. Writers often convey a lack of regard for Peter Parker, even though he symbolizes hope for a varied audience. The numerous adaptations and expansions of the Spider-Man franchise, spanning comics and other forms of media, indicate an intention to modernize his character, potentially in response to a perceived aversion towards him within Marvel. Recently, there has been a heightened emphasis on Miles Morales, indicating a deliberate shift in character focus. Nonetheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that Peter Parker continues to be the archetypal Spider-Man, embodying the traits that resonate with a significant number of fans.
Think I recall Wacker saying during Slott's Superior Spider-man that they would just replace the fans. They've never liked the fans because they know Spider-man prints money.
One thing I always have to wonder with these Legacy Characters like Spidey that has been around for Multiple Decades (and especially ones like Superman/Batman literally nearing 100 years) is that after so long...What can you Do with the Character that literally Hasn't been Done Already?

Things have been weird for years. It reminded me of that time Hobgoblins identity was determined by internal rivalrys and misinformation. These writers are led by their egos not y the characters or the fans.
The only ones reading Spider-man are the reviewers and their audience by proxy. All of the people who buy asm never open it and just slot it into the next spot in the longbox. Or they bought an exclusive for the cover art. To say that they "turned on" Lowe is inaccurate. That implies they were ever on his side in the first place. None of us are. He's fucking utterly worthless, and this has literally been one of - if not THE - worst runs in the histoy of Spider-Man.
The only good thing that's came out of peter Parker Spiderman was him in venom war besides MJ's jackpot character is soo like nobody wants her nobody cares
The recent Spider-Man storylines have not matched the enjoyment of earlier tales, lacking the strong narrative direction that once defined them. The "Gang Wars" event illustrates this decline, featuring a lack of action and an unnecessarily prolonged plot that detracts from the character's excitement. Additionally, Spider-Man's portrayal has diverged from his traditional life, as he is shown without familial ties, including a son, daughter, or Mary Jane, suggesting a deliberate effort by some writers to undermine the fundamental aspects of his character. Moreover, there is a rising dissatisfaction among fans regarding Marvel's leadership and its handling of cherished characters. Many believe that the current creative teams are overlooking audience interests, resulting in a drop in quality and enjoyment. This discontent is evident across various franchises, including Stars Wars, where fans long for storytelling that resonates with them. To rekindle the joy that fans once felt, it is crucial for Marvel and Disney to concentrate on crafting compelling narratives that respect the legacy of their characters. By placing audience interests at the forefront and ensuring high-quality content, they can revive the enthusiasm that has diminished in recent years.
Nick Spencer didn't write anything pertaining to Beyond, Dark Web etc. That said, his last 15-20 issues felt like they were rushed. I don't know if it was him or Marvel or both, but it felt like 30 or more issues crammed into 15. I'm getting my conspiracy hat on, but I truly believe Nick had the intent to undo OMD and Marvel was not letting him have it. Spencer already pushed buttons by bringing Peter and MJ together(1st issue) and undoing Sins' Past. OMD was where they drew line and so long Nick Spencer. Regardless of what ever happened, it's surprising and almost a redemption arc for Nick after writing Hydra Cap. Makes a man think what could've been.
Amazing Spider-Man has been pretty much a dumpster fire since 2018. The writers don't seem to have the depth of understanding for the character and pretty much "throw crap against a wall" to see what will stick. It's unfortunate for all of us fans because Spidey is a truly beloved character that deserves wayyyyyy better than this.
Normally I don't support open harassment of someone, but if that same person is in charge of a long-running series of stories about an iconic character and they go out of their way to micro-manage the stories in that series and tell the writers what to do and essentially to provoke the main reader base by playing with their expectations and actively humiliating the main character at every opportunity and then expect people to keep buying their poorly-written comic series, well I couldn't care less how fans respond to them. It's just karma doing it's work. I'd like to see anybody else try this same type of humiliation ritual with any other less popular Marvel comic series like Mrs. Marvel or American Chavez. They don't have the guts to do it and it's pretty obvious they have a particular grudge against Spider-man for being a straight white guy who is more popular than all their other characters. They'll probably keep making characters like Paul to serve as a scapegoat for constantly degrading Spider-man. They're probably laughing their asses off knowing that their fans are still buying their books and seeing how far they can take this.
Uh-oh! Sounds to me like another writer with activist-like intentions has made their way onto the book! Peter and Mary Jane should never be apart! If only temporary!
I think, marvel is trash. I stopped buying anything from them for years after they screwed up the hulk . the Hulk was my favorite but I. Can't bother looking at anything.
Corporate Marvel comics just want to milk Peter Parker forever and refuse to allow his character to progress anymore. They keep bringing in characters like Miles and Mayday who would have been great new characters to take up the mantle from an aging Pete who is happily married to MJ. Fan reception to the new Ultimate Spider-Man comics, as well as the Spider-Verse animated movies (Peter B. Parker), speaks volumes to how off target Marvel editorial is and has been for *years* .
I'm fairly certain that ever since One More Day, Marvel has purposely sebotaged Spidey's stories because everyone loves the hero. They must believe he attracts too much fans, causing their other heroes to not sell as much to the brauder audience. Prior to the both the MCU and One More Day, Peter was the face of Marvel as a brand. He was in the center of the covers for both Ultimate Alliance games, and was almost always the big marketing of Marvel in general. Where the movies were successful in helped make fans like more heroes, the comics did things backwards and pushed Peter down as a failed attempt to have fans branch out their interests.
They honestly should've just rebooted the series instead of doing what they did in the One More Day storyline to undo Peter and MJ's marriage. Peter making that deal with Mephesto was the writers' first mistake in the long run. Like, seriously, was undoing 616 Spidey's marriage the best they could come up with?
It's Marvel's master plan to get rid of Peter so they can make room for Miles Morales. That way they can have their High School "Spidey" again. It so lame.
I like Miles but he'll always be the "player 2" to Peter Parker. They should just have Peter and MJ married with 3 kids, and Miles as his protege. Then they can have both teen and adult Spidey, along with Spider-Girl, Spiderling, and Spider-Boy. But no, they have to do everything to tear down Peter! Stan Lee and Steve Ditko are rolling in their graves!
It's a choice for each comic collectors. But in essence I have stopped buying both marvel and DC books for all these woke bullshit dumpster fire done to these beloved IPs whether they're Petey/Mary, X-Men, batman gay shit show, etc. no respect to history and context. How is Laura wolverine when she already have her x23 identity or elektra the daredevil when elektra IS elektra already. Nightwing, Alan Scott, Bobby drake, etc becoming gay. So if big2 don't respect their IPs, why the f**k would I. Bottom line.......boycott DC and marvel comic books!
Spider-Man should be a teenager bc his tale is about teen angst, something kids can connect with. Having Peter older and not grow and still have teen problems make him a loser. Marvel should keep Peter in his own youthful world than an adult one.
Modern comics are DEAD, i rather go to my shelf and read something from 20, 30 years ago, when heroes were fun and respected by the people that write them, than those modern trash that HATE the character and do everything in their power to brake and humble them!
I realized they hated Spider-Man with the clone saga and then finally stopped collecting Amazing at the start of Quesada's weird vendetta against him as editor-in-chief.
I love Spiderman, my favourite Marvel character, I haven't read a modern Spiderman comic book for years, at the time what made me stop is the constant re-numbering which they are doing with every title, I didn't realize it was this bad these days, it's bad enough that comics are overpriced to begin with and now the stories are bad.
There are a few podcasts I listen to that enjoy the current run. Don’t get me wrong it’s not like they think it’s an all time run but they appreciate certain parts of it. And I kind of agree in that Zeb Wells can occasionally write a good story but mostly it’s not great.
Stopped reading Amazing Spider-Man last year for the first time in 56 years! This current iteration is boring, unoriginal, and not "amazing" at all. All the creatives working on the current book need to move on. How much longer can Marvel publish this inane stuff? Hey, Marvel, there are professional writers, who have written comics that would actually sell who could "swing" in and save our friendly neighborhood hero. To name just a few: Peter Tomasi: Chuck Dixson, Robert Venditti, and this "upstart: by the name of Jeremy Adams.
all lies, i was there, the panel ended on the correct time. it wasnt hushed out.also one guy was hogging the mike but he was being answered. people are taking things out of proportions, who knew right ?
Nick Lowe and Marvel in general doesn't care how they continue to ruin Spider-Man. It's terrible. Fans have to stop buying "ASM". If they're not going to put MJ and Peter back together, I don't have a problem with him and the Black Cat becoming a power couple, getting married, having kids, Peter Parker/Spider-Man becoming the leader of the Marvel Superheroes, and please, please have him stop working at the Daily Bugle, and finally becoming a successful scientist. It's Felicia Hardy's turn to be Peter's main love interest if you're going to have MJ stay with the horrible Paul character. Something needs to change, and I for one would like to see Felicia with Peter, if MJ isn't an option. If Marvel would allow MJ to get back with Peter, that's what I'd prefer, but if that's not going to happen, Felcia is the next best option, IMO.
As long as the people keep buying ASM...Marvel will not listen!....The only course correction Marvel will hear is 0 sales on ASM (or people not buying it) until then business as usual!
I got into collecting comics as a kid in the mid-'80s, shortly before Peter & MJ got married. I went back and read plenty of "classic" Spidey stories from before that, but seeing Peter & MJ as a couple was always a key part of my connection with the Spider-Man titles. I'd largely given up collecting before "One More Day," but I still skimmed the titles now and again and kept touch. After that, though... just no. The storyline was a HORRIBLE idea, and the delivery was as sharp as a wet sack of mice. Of all the bad moves the powers-that-be at Marvel have made over the decades, that one stands out as being one of the WORST.
Comics have long ago become too expensive to waste money on for something that is no longer entertaining. The size of my weekly comic stack had dwindled considerably from the time when I first started collecting, and now a majority of the titles I get regularly are independent, and manga.
I’m a long time Spider-Man fan, reader . It’s hard to tell if Spider-Man currently is good or bad though I haven’t read it in a while. I remember people hating the Clone Saga but now think it’s good same with Superior Spider-Man but now it’s praised. I’ve heard that Ultimate Spider-Man is good so I might give that a try.
Spiderman? Oh that old character with the neverending rehashed rebooted retconned whatever stories. People still care about that?!!?! Amazing. 🤣🤣🥰 I read good stuff!
Modern comic "writers" (actually activists) hate the audience and hate the characters. People need to stop buying EVERYTHING. Let Marvel finally go under. Same with DC. They need to just fade away.
Well, people seem to buy ASM, so why should Marvel actually do anything to keep or even bring back readers? The people left seem to be fine with this kind of stories as they keep on buying the book and the rest should have grown wise to Marvel after over 15 years of OMD.
so…. spiderman is to first to fall as batman scream at spiderman fallen body. Yeah when they cut off q and a is solid evidence that we paranoid about the “fan column”.
Do they, though? I don't think their numbers are anywhere close to where they were a decade ago at this point. Also, kids don't read comics much anymore. The people buying comics are into their 30s and 40s, if not older.
One further proof for me that I decided 10 yrs ago to quitt collecting Spiderman was the right decision! Was a very difficult choice for me that time, but in the end, if I see what writers like Zeb Wells or Nick Lowe and the others have done to Spiderman/ Peter Parker I aware that I didn´t lost anything of value! Spiderman WAS once my favourite superhero and the past stories and characters and development of the deepth of Peter Parkers character were great! Even after things has started going worse with Joe Quesadas "One more day" I think, well, they will recognize that Spiderman aka Peter Parker is one of the most precious superheros Marvel ever had! But NO! Marvel isn´t aware of that! I saw here on YT the latest "reactions" of the last Spiderman issues, more and more stepping aside for SpiderGwen, Miles Morales as Spiderman or the destroyed character of MJ as "Jackpot". It´s obvious for me that Marvel HATE Spiderman aka Peter Parker! Making him No. 4 in his OWN issues, destrying for the 5th time his relationship with MJ, making MJ a annoying character with this Paul-guy! And even after Zeb Wells finished the next one, Nick Lowe, going on with that BS of insulting Peter Parker! Maybe in some years new generation of fans will get back the original Spiderman and great stories, but at the moment I will watch here any reactions of Spiderman comics although if they in the end have become more and more irrelevant for me, and there are enough another alternatives of good stories with Indie comics or Mangas, also with Anime, which are more entertaining than that crap!
Spider-Man: Is the one character that everybody universally loves.
Marvel: Hires someone to do everything they can to undo that.
It's hard to believe but it's true. Spider-Man deserves the best writers/artists and Marvel keeps "punishing"him.

I don't trust him (Nick Lowe) again
There are still spidey fans who read the comics? I'm as big a fan as it gets, collected many key issues, wrote briefly for the top fan site, and I've haven't considered them consistently readable for a decade. They've been actively trying to chase away classic spider-fans for 20 years.
Zoomers who file under the following:
• grew up watching Spectacular Spiderman
• who watch Alex Lennon, MulletMan Comics or some other zoomer comics TH-camr
• piraters
And of course Gen X or Millennials who still need to buy their weekly addiction out of ritual purposes.
i gave up on asm. i only read Ultimate and Miles
Good thing I gave up in comics years ago and rarely do I buy them unless they're collections or limited series. These comics ever since the end of the 2000s has been horrendous for the most part.
Jonathan Hickman's back must hurt from carrying Spider-Man's legacy on his back
Quesada is to blame for one more day - even as a kid i knew something was majorly off with JMS' writing during that time
Spider-Man was the last mainstream comic that I was getting. I finally dropped it, late into Dan Slott’s run.
Read the new Ultimate Spider-Man by Hickman; it’s really good, and Peter has a life.
They want to destroy peter because sony has the rights for spiderman on film the same they did when xmen and the fantastic four were on fox
That's a plausible theory
Just like Zeb Wells , Nick Lowe and Marvel will probably claim “death threats” and toxic fandom after this.
They're also going to use that as the excuse for why they willingly wrote this degrading bilge in the first place to escape accountability to the fans.
The matt Walsh ref made me laugh😂😂
Clearly you don't know comics, Miles is old news, Venom Eddie Brock and SpiderGwen have been the biggest pushes for like the last 5 years or more.
To be fair... Aunt May is still alive today... so she did live longer than a few days.
I don't blame on Spider-Man Fans for not trust Nick Lowe hypocrite words!
I'm glad fans are asking tough questions at the panels. Since I stopped buying over 10 years ago i don't attend the panels anymore, I'm just worried if the passionate fans do manage to ask their questions they'll simply stop doing the Q&A portions of the panels.
I still have yet to find a single person, either in person or from chatting in whatnot streams, that actually read the damn book in almost 3 years since I've gotten back into the hobby.
I'm still convinced that they're going to kill Peter off for good at the end of this upcoming "storyline" as a middle finger to the fans.
I hope they do. People will finally have enough and stop buying this slop completely. Maybe even dump Marvel entirely. The faster the Big 2 go out of business, the better.

I’m surprised that I have not heard more about this. Would like to hear from more people there. I appreciate the intro and agree with most everything said. It take 5:45 to get to what the title says though! I do not know why marvel continues on this path with Spider-Man. It is horrible ! Thanks for the info! I look forward to hearing more about this. Someone must have video! I am one of those suckers still buying. I’m 53 and been buying asm since I was 14. It is hard to stop.
2:50 And that's when I let all my Spider subscriptions end. Haven't read Marvel Spider-Man since...
It's like Marvel will literally make every single other character's life better than his!!!! -_- Finally, people are rising against them!!!
You want Peter and MJ back together, read ultimate Spiderman.
The entire 616 needs a fucking soft reboot! They need to bring in the "Renew your vows" or "MC2" versions of Peter and MJ, married with kids!
They also messed up Miles Morales: Spider-Man making him a vampire.
great video thanks, you got my sub, bell and like!
Uh-oh! Sounds to me like another writer with activist-like intentions has made their way onto the book! Peter and Mary Jane should never be apart! If only temporary!
Marvel hates Parker like DC hates Grayson.. constantly dump on them..
I think, marvel is trash. I stopped buying anything from them for years after they screwed up the hulk . the Hulk was my favorite but I. Can't bother looking at anything.
I haven't read nor bought a single Spider-Man comic ever since One More Day. Hard to believe that it's been 16 years.
I highly reccomend Chip Zdarksy Spectacular Spider-Man run.
Ive meet a few that liked that run of Spiderman. Strange thing is that every single one of them like Miles as Spiderman more.
I think your approach is right: make the comics you want to read.
I stopped reading Spider-Man when they retconned his marriage to MJ and started doing more and more WOKE and bizarre storylines..
Honestly Nick Lowe should just be fired at this point because frankly the main amazing spider book had been bad for a very long time in my opinion.
I love Ultimate Spiderman, where Peter and MJ are married, but the main universe is crap.
@@thunderstudentrolled? Stan Lee’s either drilled his way out of the grave or came back as a zombie during the Zeb Wells
@@dvontechappel1579 at this point Stan Lee is probably the Power souce for marvel
I dropped comics altogether after brand new day, was spending 1k a year on marvel and ASM was my cornerstone
They hate the customers.
Hard agree on Nick Spencer, I dropped the title after he left.
As long as the people keep buying ASM...Marvel will not listen!....The only course correction Marvel will hear is 0 sales on ASM (or people not buying it) until then business as usual!
Pfff "Matt Walsh", my sides 🤣
Amazing. 🤣🤣🥰
I read good stuff!

I prefer Peter Parker Spider-Man married and paying taxes with kids. Miles can represent the young crowd. I also like Peter as his mentor
so…. spiderman is to first to fall as batman scream at spiderman fallen body. Yeah when they cut off q and a is solid evidence that we paranoid about the “fan column”.
Stop taking drugs
The chickens came home to roost.
People keep buying it... its because Spiderman comic buyers are mostly kids.
Do they, though? I don't think their numbers are anywhere close to where they were a decade ago at this point. Also, kids don't read comics much anymore. The people buying comics are into their 30s and 40s, if not older.
@@orga7777 Then the ones buying it are dumb ldiot adults.
Marvel and DC aren't actually in the business of serialized storytelling, hence Stan Lee's "illusion of change".
Only Marvel.
Marvel comics should change the name for marvel "novelas", because they create content from cat ladies to cat ladies!
Why did they even break up Black Cat and Spidey? And isn't ASM the highest selling Marvel comic before USM?
He writes the fan letters really?
They finally get him back together with Venom .... PSYCH.... give him back to Dylan and Eddy.
Nick Lowe, the Vince Russo of comic books.

The babies writing these titles have minders.
At some point, the babies' messes becomes the direct fault of their minders.
Spider-Man Vs Doctor Doom
Amazing Spiderman has been selling pretty well though even though no one liked it
One further proof for me that I decided 10 yrs ago to quitt collecting Spiderman was the right decision!
