She’s so athletic! You can tell through her jumps how strong they are, while still being so elegant and “effortless”
But lemme tell you it’s a lot of effort that goes in!
I grew up around the rink .. ice hockey from 6 till present day ... these girls work extreme hard . It’s a life style not just a sport ..

she’s amazing! i’m also a figure skater but she needs specific elements and be a specific level to be in the olympics! but yes, she has a lot of future ahead of her🤍

I have been obsessed with figure skating so much these few months I get so jealous at the people who even live in a place where there is an ice rink 😩

I used to skate from age 2-10 but now I go to boarding school and highland dance instead and the gracefulness *sometimes* really helped me in my transition from skating to dance!❤️

After those spins in the air how are you able to keep skating so perfectly after? Aren’t you dizzy?! I’ve always wondered how skaters keep going after those crazy spins. I would barely be able to walk let alone skate
Ivey we do get dizzy however we've just gotten used to it so it's not that big of a problem
Ivey, Hello i’m a figure skater and just wanted to say that at first u get VERY dizzy but u get used to it .For example I didn’t skate for a long time bcs of quarantine and I’m going to be SUPER dizzy for the first 2 weeks .😊

After many years of spinning you start to not even realize it and you're mostly focusing on what you're doing than how much its going to hurt/make u dizzy

Jordan Bauth yep! One of my hardest challenges as a coach is to get my dance girls to STOP spotting. My students who did ballet before skating are such a joy to teach, but their spins are so awkward in the beginning because they keep trying to spot. 😂
when I started doing spins and stuff, I did dance before and I kept spotting because it was natural but now I stop haha

I come from a certain part in Ireland where the ice rink is only open in winter so I take in-line skating classes and omg you're so perfect at skating
I'm Irish too and we also only have rinks in the winter I'd love to try inline figure skating though, is it fun?

I actually went ice skating today and I struggled at first but I managed to skate decently so maybe after 2-3 times I’ll be able to be completely stable and fearless on the ice haha

I wish I could learn to ice skate but the nearest rink is an hour away and I can never go
There's only two rinks where I live, one 50 minutes away, the other 1h15min away, I'm in my final year of school and schoolwork is piling, exams are every 3 months, yet I still go to the rink twice a week between all my commitments.
Don't let yourself make excuses for not pursuing what you want to do!
Me too. I'm pretty sure the nearest ice rink to me is 4 hours to 5 hours when there's traffic. 😫

Im 16 turning 17 next year🥺 i wanna figure skate too but then in my country there is only 3 ice rink available all of it is like 3~5 hours away in the other state! Im sad, idk what to do.. anyone have advice? It would be great🙂

This is gonna sound so strange but that ice rink was where I took my first lesson when I was 7😂 I moved a few years ago but it was fun to see it again! I’m working on double lutz and double axel now. Any tips??

hey!! I have a 3 minute program and I really struggle to hold it together? does anyone have any tips for stamina? and also, how do you stay so calm during programs? I freak out because I'm scared of my double lutz loop hellpppp
i would work on endurance training off ice! i used to do sprint intervals... so 2 minutes sprinting 1 minute rest and repeat 10 times... as far as staying calm, think of key terms to think about in your head before each element so you are focused and stimulating your brain but not overthinking or second guessing! you can do it!!
Ive always wanted to become a figure skater but like to do that I'd have to go to an ice rink, which has people, and I tend to avoid people.. everyone at the ice rink near me is super talented and I can barely spin without falling :^

I can only dream of skating ... I used to do it for therapy as a child, (I have cerebral palsy, my left foot/leg doesn't work well) along with ballet, but I obviously can't succeed. I still sometimes skate (terribly) in my local skating rink each year, (I live in Florida, so the skating rink doesn't open until November 12th) but not much because it's simply humiliating falling on my ass every time I try to attempt to go backwards. Do you know the easiest tricks that doesn't need both legs? Just for funzies, though. ^^
