Yeah I like the more ambiguous ending. The Foundation isn’t incompetent, even before reading the journal they would know to take precautions. And the horror can naturally come from the fact that they are potentially containing another world-ending entity, which is run of the mill for them.
I always love SCP based on stuff in space like planets, megastructures, alien species and all that stuff, they are just so interesting and fun to read, something about alien cultures, technology and even their versions of the SCP foundation are just so cool. It would come as no surprise that Ad Astra Per Aspera is one of my favourite canons
Agreed. I’m a huge sucker for sapient advanced civilizations stories in SCP, whether they take place on Earth or somewhere else in the universe. I hope we see more stuff like this in the ABC’s of Death marathon.

cosmic horror SCP's definitely has a place in my heart! especially this one since its focused more in that concept and not just being another overpowered entity thats a narrative level threat, I can't wait for "C is for closer" but im guessing it won't be long thats for sure...
ikr it gets annoying when people just keep writing ridiculously OP stuff like I get it you want a story but after the 100th "God tier that can erase reality" it gets a bit dull since they always say its "unknownable" or beyond human comprehension instead of writing in the parts that take effort beyond basic typing

Thanks for this story, The Exploring Series and SCP. For no particular reason I just liked this as a son, brother, cousin and uncle. Whenever the person giving the report briefly went into cycles and the next generation and generation after that of the species that was the subject of the story. As an uncle four times over, I beamed and wouldn't mind knowing what family and extended family life and history is like with this species.
This is kinda like SCP-3003 2.0! The fact so many threats to our will are lurking through the universe makes me think the 7711 timeline may be preferable.

Great concept overall, but I'm confused by a certain detail; how had they mapped and 'conquered' their entire galaxy down to the last grain of sand on the smallest dwarf planet, when they couldn't live long enough to reach the next solar system?
Presumably they mapped it and considered it deeply empty so they considered it ‘theirs’ but never having been there they saw it as owed to them, that’s why they wished for immortality to go and ‘claim’ what they saw as rightfully theirs

I wouldn't find it suprising if in a long run foundation was to blame for this mold getting out. For better or worse Foundation doesn't like destroying things outright and to destroy they need to go through tons of self imposed paperwork to even begin preperations

@@thecougarprince when the Wiki started there were only slots for the first 999 numbers, but then the SCP-1000 contest happened and so Series 2 was now available with slots from 1000 to 1999. The process follow till today we have Series 8 with slots from 7000 to 7999.
