For those who don’t know Ȝ was an old English letter called Yogh. And the sound it made was complicated. It sometimes was a replacement for G. Other times a replacement for J. And this was back when the J in English made the same sound it dose in German.
Which is interesting, since in some German dialects the "G" sound is replaced by the "J" sound. As you correctly claimed, the German "J" sound is not comparable to the English one. The German "J" is equivalent to the English "Y". So think "Yesundheit" - that's actually how some Germans say it.
I love the idea that the Foundation is totally inept at dealing with normal tombs and there’s no mystical bullshit going on and it’s just a dusty tomb they all worked themselves into a frenzy over.
"Department of Tactical Theology" is the best name for an organization I've ever heard. Also, Cassidy constantly racking the shotgun for no reason really triggered my gun autism.
As someone who interacts with experts (professors) who struggle to get along with one other because they each know a specific subfield of knowledge… This one hits a certain key for me. Thanks, Exploring Series, for the great readings!

Hearing the decision making behind the actions the foundation takes during any expedition logs is so nice to hear. We mostly just get what the foundation does without them rlly explaining how they got to that decision

This reminds me of that old sci-fi horror film “The Sphere”, and honestly, this did a much better job of showing how paranoia & unintentional reality-manifestations can turn a simple research expedition into a nightmare bloodfest.

The chief engineer, now possessed by a demon, who had been committing murders alongside Plesko, since the latter only committed 3 successful sacrifices so far, the rest being the chief's. As for Captain Cassidy, it can be inferred she had acute paranoia of traitors, and the tomb is currently the only secure place in the camp that cannot be breached normally without instruments or firearms... both of which she kept on her own person at the end. Most likely, her actions were so that she can finally rest at ease from all this paranoia she had to deal with herself over atleast 4 days, and her knowing she "lost her soul" the previous day due to the sneezing. Honestly, a perfect murder mystery article!

If one does not, it means you want them dead. If these condition is not met in that tomb there, the person has a higher chance at dying. They either need to stop believing in their own beliefs of a sneeze (good luck with that) or do the very thing that could make sure they don't become a liability.

As of recently I was supposed to bring my ukulele for lessons at my day program. I'm a little embarrassed to say I was so invested with this SPC case and my multitasking that I looked out my window, saw my cab was there waiting for me, it was already way past time I should have headed downstairs, went to get in my cab and had realized I had left my ukulele in my bedroom. Fortunately, my teacher had one I could work with today. I still managed to say "bye" to the folks in my group home and of course thanked my teacher as always. That's what I was asking from the start; what exactly is the significance of sneezing? I've seen people lose their shit because that _could_ be a possible anomalous contamination. Yet, the only thing to immediately happen adverse was to Neller. Everybody else just thought sneezing did something. I really saw no evidence otherwise, so I guess I would have been safe (from myself, at least) 🤷🏻♂
This is one of the better newer SCP's. It actually focuses on the SCP. And this is plausible as the discovery log, instead of the best description of it being a tale in the wrong section.

Yo, I'm only at 1:11:00 right now, but god DAMN does this article SLLAAAAPPPPP!!!! It's written almost perfectly as a horror movie, from the inciting incident with the bit character, to the setup of the observation post and introduction of a team of disparate experts, to the slow build up of the horror and paranoia with a healthy dose of lore exposition, now to the final, frantic climax of a possible red herring/possible actual culprit going postal...ugh I can SEE IT IN MY BRAIN MOVIE! Really hoping the landing gets stuck real good because I'm gonna be so disappointed if it ends up being weak. Thanks for bringing these stories to us, Mangg! I know it was a ton of work, but it most certainly is not going unappreciated, brother!
Before listening to this one past the preamble, here's my guess what's coming: the skip is a phenomen where saying "bless you" to a sneezer causes an actual deific manifestation, and the Tactical Theology department has to clean up the resulting mess, needing far more than tissue napkins to do so.
I think the ending was a little weak. I really liked the idea of the skeptic being pretty much OK under the faith-based curse, but then it got changed without real reason. If the curse weaponized the faith of the individual, the skeptic should be just fine.

One of the first episodes of Doctor Who I've watched and it was one of the very good ones, that stuck in my memory.

Yo, I'm only at 1:11:00 right now, but god DAMN does this article SLLAAAAPPPPP!!!! It's written almost perfectly as a horror movie, from the inciting incident with the bit character, to the setup of the observation post and introduction of a team of disparate experts, to the slow build up of the horror and paranoia with a healthy dose of lore exposition, now to the final, frantic climax of a possible red herring/possible actual culprit going postal...ugh I can SEE IT IN MY BRAIN MOVIE! Really hoping the landing gets stuck real good because I'm gonna be so disappointed if it ends up being weak.

Before listening to this one past the preamble, here's my guess what's coming: the skip is a phenomen where saying "bless you" to a sneezer causes an actual deific manifestation, and the Tactical Theology department has to clean up the resulting mess, needing far more than tissue napkins to do so.
I think the ending was a little weak. I really liked the idea of the skeptic being pretty much OK under the faith-based curse, but then it got changed without real reason. If the curse weaponized the faith of the individual, the skeptic should be just fine.
