  • Sometimes the best service we can offer is to be present and to listen. No place in the world reminds us of this better than the Navajo Nation.

    "service is being in the presence of Somebody else...". That's powerful.. More than most know.

    This is not the Navajo Nation. It is a docuserie on one person's views.

    So what you're saying is....All cats are Navajo?? lol, joking aside, this is such a cool program. It's probably the most valuable thing they will get from their university experience. So good to know that these students are taking that knowledge and vibe back into their communities.

    Do a video on Peyote way. It infiltrated most native american religions like a weed that chokes out a good crops. Peyote started in Mexico. Originally was outlawed by the NN in the 1940's. But like a persistent knock, many tribes let it in. I am not anti-peyote. But most people, especially the young, need to know the real history of peyote way origins.

      Peyote is Hashchiltiih’s (Talking God) medicine. Learn about the Navajo culture before using derogatory terms to describe this medicine.

      Who cares about its origins, which is from another Indigenous Nation as long its helping our people . You say your not anti peyote, have you even been in ceremony? I doubt it.

      Oh yes it is. Peyote is Talking God’s medicine. Learn about how he survived with this medicine. It is one of 13 sacred herbs provided by the deity’s before departing.

      Take your negativity elsewhere please. I am Navajo. I love when non-Navajos learn about our culture. They equally have the same spirituality as we do. Also, it truly shows how equal we are and that we shouldn’t divide. 💕

    • @myhappyplace4563
      @myhappyplace4563 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@oceanpoincare I am Navajo also & when I was growing up my grandparents always said to not share or invite someone when doing any type of prayers or meetings at least I am not talking or teaching or inviting people to any traditional prayers. So you can keep your negative responses to yourself & think about the old traditions from our elders....

    • @oceanpoincare
      @oceanpoincare 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@myhappyplace4563 anything native was illegal in our elders’ time of growing up. They quite literally had to keep it secret to not go to jail or be arrested. Since 1978 we as Navajos adjust and evolve with new generations and new ideas. We are a very social people. It’s one solution of many, to us staying peaceful and living in simplicity, we stay positive towards non natives and non Navajos.
