Fantastic Movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿. The one and only George Raft. Nina Foch played that sort of woman excellently, Will Geer (Grandpa Walton) believable sneaky cop that he played so well. George Macready creeped me out. bravo!!!
George is always so cool in his movies, always dressed classy. Star quality with a toughness. Also in this film , having the beautiful Nina and class villain McCready, you can't go wrong .
What about posting they drive-by night with him Humphrey Bogart I can’t think of a lady name right now, but that was a good picture. I would love to see it again.
@@saphiffertalbert1322 I posted "They Drive by Night" (1938) here: th-cam.com/video/aY7ah8c-wew/w-d-xo.html I'll have to check out the copyright status of the 1940 version with Bogart.
Entertaining. Right for the time period. Even as a little boy in the 60s growing up surrounded by veterans WW 2 still was predominant amongst mens thinking about the world and life. Meeting each other for the first time the question would be asked " Where were you in the war"?
George & Nina. Life is good. Excellent! Just a little nit to pick, blank cartridges don't play well with semi automatic hand guns. Not enough pressure to cycle the slide. Thanks DPB. You know how to pick 'em.
Two Georges, famous villains in the 1940s and 1950s, pit their wiles against each other with gorgeous Nina in between and commie Geer pulling the strings, with FBI ready to trap rats. Good movie with superb B&W cinematography, occasional holes in plot, and very watchable 81 min long. Thanks for posting!
I love George, sad though as after this movie i wont have any left to watch having watched all the rest 😢 for those who dont know Gearge started out as a dancer & a very accomplished one at that 🦋🌷you can see him dancing with Carol Lombard the bolero 🤼 on youtube, anyway have a nice Monday everyone-American Eleection just a day away x
George Raft. Smooth operator after all, he learnt from the mob. The real mob. The guys who spoke from the corner of their mouths. George Raft engineered his own bad career choices:- he turned down "Casablanca, High Sierra, The Treasure of Sierra Madre, The Maltese Falcon".
Although he was considered for the film, George was not offered The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. The lead in High Sierra went against what George thought audiences wanted to see him portray. He turned down The Maltese Falcon due to a misunderstanding. He thought the role of Rick in Casablanca was just not right for him. Check out his website if you want to know more about his films.
Me too liked that comment I remember Men talking my Grandparents Ww11i would lay on floor ..listen or under the chair in living room my Great Aunt GM sister come over ..they would start in 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
WITHOUT GEORGE RAFT THIS MOVIE WOULD BE A DISASTER. THIS TYPE OF MOVIE IS GOOD FOR THE 1950/1960S BUT NOT IN TODAY"'S CINEMA WITH COLOR SOUND EFFECTS ETC. ONLY BLACK AND WHITE I WATCH IS" STALAG 17" WITH WILLIAM HOLDEN AND VARIOUS TOP STARS AND THE GREAT DIRECTOR BILLY WILDER. A SUPERBLY DIRECTED IN BARRACK MOVIE BUT WHAT A CLASSIC SCRIPT NEVER BORES YOU FOR A MINUTE
@abbashussein6161...Good morning. First: do not use all caps, it is unnecessary and in poor taste. Second: If Stalag 17 is the only black & white movie you watch, then you are depriving yourself of a lot of classic and excellent movies. Treat yourself to some of the great black & white movies from Britain; there are thousands of them. Sure, just like Hollywood, there are plenty of bad ones, but the good ones are superb: great actors/actresses, well-crafted stories and dialogue, wonderful scenery, good musical scores, and so forth. You have to pay attention to the characters and the dialogue and story when watching the black & white movies...they tell the story...not special effects and over-the-top violence and yes, even distracting color in some places. Hollywood also made lots of some of the finest movies ever made, and they were in black & white. Expand your horizons...you will be glad you did.
Appreciate the opportunity to see this fine movie again! Thanks for providing it.

Nina Foch has stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 6300 Hollywood Boulevard, and 7000 Hollywood Boulevard.

I'd rather see George Raft's acting than Steven Seagal's. But that still small praise.

Nina s orig dutch name was the four-letter-WORD pronounciationwise. Dig it up if not believing me. No wonder they changed even a certain Rita Cansino.
No, it wasn't: it was spelt with an 'o'. Look it up if you don't believe me, sonny.
