Rock and roll invention modern pop in the 50s and pop is the catchy simple melodic commercial form of all the genres that emerged from the 50s, there is always confusion when you say this is pop or rock? is pop or r&b?, etc. anyway for me pop is more a concept than a genre and should not be confused with popular music, and ozzy osbourne is fan n ° 1 of the beatles some of the rock bands that created the best modern pop until the day of today

As a metal drummer, I enjoy everything. From Ragtime to Rap, Blues to Heavy Metal, Classical to Country. You never know where you’re going to find a killer beat, riff, or voice that makes your spine tingle. Christina Aguilera: When I Open My Mouth is one of the best vocals of all time.
As a metal drummer, I still think that playing Shuffles, Salsa, Samba and Bossa Nova are the most fun rhythms by far. Let that sink in.

They're heavier than a lot the other bands (not that heavy, but neither are any other bands here) on this list, just because the lead singer is hot as fuck and they're younger doesn't mean they aren't a rock band.
For me it would be Lady Gaga...especially the song "Bad Romance". Such a great and powerful song. The truth is I have no guilt with listening to Gaga or that song. I've openly admitted to being a fan. She was even sweet to me when I met her years ago. I even posted a guitar cover doing an instrumental version of Bad Romance on TH-cam.

Kurt Cobain was a big fan of Rupaul's album . People can appreciate different kinds of music, genre aside. I'm with Cory Taylor on this one , I'm not ashamed of anything that sounds good to my ear. From New Kids on The Block to Joe Tex to T Rex to System of a Down. Blondie, Nirvana, Abba, Bieber, Hole, Xxxtentacion, Guns n Roses, Marilyn Manson, The Pixies, R.E.M. Chris Isaak, Cyndi Lauper, The Misfits, .....etc. If I like it, then it's good to me, I don't feel like I should feel guilty or be apologetic for what music strikes a chord within me.
I used to have this ”guilty” feeling listening to non-alternative music when I was younger but now that I’m more grown up I realize it’s all just music. Every track you listen to doesn’t have to have a profound meaning and significance to you or have deep lyrics, it can just be a song you like. I still listen to songs by artists I dislike, either for something they have done/are doing or for differing opinions, because it’s just music.
I think a lot of that feeling comes from ridiculous attitudes in school.
In my school anyone who liked metal was picked on and made fun of. From what I've heard, it was a common experience in UK schools.
Metal has always been my preference however I do listen to a lot of rock, hip hop, pop, classical and electronic music. Anyone that refuses to listen to more than 1 genre is just depriving themselves of so many good songs that they have yet to hear just so they can keep their identity as a "metalhead". I know I was the same until I opened my mind and expanded what I listen to.
Well i will tell you that personally i am not doing that because i am i just want to keep my identity as a metal head but honestly metal and some good ol' rock is all i ever feel like i need and i also i dont know of any songs/artists of other genres that i actually like. I know that i would like some electronic stuff but i dont even know where to look for it and i also REALLY liked one particular rap song that i heard as background sound on another video on youtube that i lost track of and i cant seem to ever find it again even tho i actually want to so for now and the foreseeable future all i am gonna listen to is metal...

Young people, like 9-17, are the ones who try and label you if you like a certain song or a particular genre of music, it really is stupid, but I was the same way. But as you get older you start to realize music is music, everyone has their own personal likes and dislikes and it really doesn't matter what you listen to.

i dont agree that just because a band has millions of fans makes them a 'good' band, iron maiden for example :D but i agree with not having to feel guilty about liking other types of music, music is subjective, bands like the beatles and iron maiden arent really bands id opt to listen to, but i understand their importance and the contributions they have made to modern music...they make music that i dont particularly like, but for me to cast them off as 'sucking' would be a totally ignorant move...the only types of music that really sucks is convoluted crap designed to sell millions, kesha and all that other crap...mcmusic if you will. im a music fan, i actually like, and can play, all genres and i couldnt give a sweet and sour shite what people think about that ... fridays gig was all chillies/oasis/90s dance, lastnights gig was all metallica/motorhead/acdc and tonighs gig is all conway twitty/jonny cash/elvis, id go stir crazy if i was stuck to one genre and folks need to get over themselves, slipknot doesnt 'suck', nor does maiden or the beatles
