Truth is - the Gibson guitar cases at this time either smelled like vanilla (or sometimes like cherry, too). Gibson used to put some sort of scent in the paint of the guitars so the fur of the cases smelled like it, too...
Never met slash, but in a nuts way, consider him a friend. Being severely disabled, I had my first of many major surgeries in 1993. I was so into GNR at this point that I wore out a tape twice in hospital. Since then the solo stuff and VR have been absolutely rinsed whilst in recovery from loads of spinal surgery. The inspiration to pick a guitar up has been good. I have lost feeling in my arms twice and effectively had to learn from scratch twice. Obviously there has to be a lot of inspiration to do this rather than give up...I got a lot from slash music!
Slash has the most soothing voice...would be awesome if he created an audiobook of short bedtime stories for grown ups. With his imagination and life experiences he could come up with some cool stories.

If you are still keeping in touch with Slash tell that when he comes to Japan in February of 2019 there is an awesome dinosaur museum and research facility in Fukui Prefecture. He is scheduled to play The Hatch in Osaka City. About 2 hours north by rapid transit train is Fukui City. Another 1 hour outside Fukui City is Katsuyama City which is home to one of the largest dinosaur museums in the world. The museum also has a dinosaur park where you can see to scale models of dinosaurs “in the wild”. I am sure he would enjoy it between gigs, or even before and after the 2 dates he will play in Japan.
