I've watched Gene Simmons Family Jewels a few years back. Like all reality shows, it's scripted, but the chemistry between Gene and his family is real.
Gotta give it to Gene and Shannon. They raised a great set of kids. Both very likeable, intelligent and quite talented. And Sophie is one of the most beautiful people on this planet. Cudos.

@@christophgamingandmore Paul started doing that in 2000. Prior to that, (and I'm referring to the original band 1973-1980), it was only the four of them behind the Superman bed sheet/makeshift curtain that hung over the dressing room door. No one was allowed in for about 2 hours.

When you tell a depressed kid to jump instead of offering a solution or advice, for all we know someone might have taken his bad advice and jumped.
Playing bass in Kiss does not make him an expert on mental health issues, he's a role model to many so maybe he should act a bit more like one and use a good positive influence to raise awareness but he'd probably want paying for that wouldn't he? Would he say the same to his children/Grandchildren - I think not.

I recall going to The Summit in Houston circa 1976 and seeing these guys. 4 of us did the face thing...I was Peter. Saw them in Austin a couple of weeks ago. If you want to put a smile on your face...go see them. Its clear they have invested some of their winnings back into stage effects and sound. Pretty amazing.

I actually think this is a sweet moment with father and daughter. Gene was very nice to my brother, Matthew David Hofstrom, when he had brain cancer. Gene called my brother a couple times to cheer him up and also took him backstage. KISS & Judas Priest was our first concert as kids in Madison WI many years ago. Matt was a guitarist and now he is in Rock N Roll Heaven since his birthday in May 2006. Thank you Gene Simmons for being such an inspiration to Matt!

True also to be exact they didn't wear makeup for 12 years so he's really been doing it for 28 years although he did put it on for the Rise to It video
Yeah, they have been very vocal about their make up ritual. They used it as an opportunity, usually the only one, for all members to be in a room without anyone else. It was kind of their bonding time, where they can converse before a show. If I'm not mistaken, the make up room was off limits to everyone while they were putting the make up on.
That is hardly proof. First of all, this was a hurried session, plus he's doing it from a different point of view than he is accustomed to. They may be using makeup artists now, but in their first run before going "unmasked" I'm pretty sure they didn't have makeup artists.

well he does have a teaching degree. Before he started Kiss, he was a 6th grade teacher
hes not only musically talented, but also artisitcally. This is a lot more intricate than i could've imagined haha. Her relationship with her dad is honestly adorable though.

I always thought Kiss used stencils to get the black parts so perfect. I can't draw stars right, but Paul's star on his eye is always perfect. These guys are real artists. This was very interesting. I always wondered about their makeup. Thanks Gene and your beautiful daughter for this.
