Hey, I have seeded about 3 weeks ago with KBG and tall fescue. When can I cut? It’s getting long. But it is spotty in some areas, even though I reseeded 1 week apart in those patches.
My friends swore that I was mowing one pass longer than the other to achieve stripes. I finally conceded and told them that was indeed what I was doing. Wouldn't you know it. One of my buddies took my "advice" and called me up complaining that his grass looked like crap.

Being on a budget I have to improvise, I made my own crude roller out of 4" PVC. I bought end caps for the pipe and pushed 3/8 x 4" bolts through the endcaps leaving about an inch of thread sticking out. I put one endcap on and stood the pipe up and clamped it in place as I filled the pipe with concrete to the top then I pushed on the other endcap and let everything harden overnight. I had to do some fenagling to make adaptors for the rear wheel lugs and made aluminum arms to go from those lugs to my invention and boom, I have for the first time crazy good stripes on my lawn. This made me realize that I actually have really good grass thanks in no small part to Ryans videos, I wish my grass looked like fur as Ryans does, A work in progress.

Everything seems to be about Toro on the tubes for obvious reason. .I appreciate your honesty as always. This mower is really a beast that the sponsored folks dont care to know. That Milwaukee looks like it works nice I heard a lot of good things about it but the price is a little high but in time it will go down thanks again Ryan always a great show brother
Personally the Milwaukee is the best push mower that I've used. I've been very surprised I like it as much as I do just because I didn't think it would rival gas options
I'm in that stage too, I had both mowers at the same time, I returned the M18 but still within the return window of the ego. Kept the EGO because of the slight lower cut height. In paper both say 1" but in person the M18 is about 1/4"-1/2" taller on its lower setting than the EGO. I like the low look better (seems like reel mower) and it also its beneficial for when I re-seed my KBG lawn as it takes longer to germinate and the lower cut gives more time to the new seeds to germinate and also sand leveling is easier if I ever do that. How's the ego holding up, I too have everything Milwaukee and thats why I'm having so many doubts, but everytime I look at that beautiful lawn the doubts go away until I start remembering I have all milwaukee tools LOL,
The stripers what are floating like this are way less noticeable behind the mower compared to one that is bolted directly to the mower in my experience. This style is more difficult to turn though. They all have their plusses and minuses. Lawn is looking great as always Ryan!
Before you move it'd be cool to see you mow an alternating circle pattern emanating from the tree in your front yard. Then in your backyard to really one-up it, same thing, but emanating from both trees. So pretty much backyard would be double cut because you did the same pattern starting from both trees. It'd be like two ripples in water running over eachother.
Right now I'm lucky if I get home in time for the last glimmer of light before it gets dark. Luckily the Milwaukee has lights because I'm going to need them

Ryan - I just got the new ego striping kit and have fencing like you at 4:23. I haven’t found any good way to turn around. I see you reversed but doesn’t that mess up the stripe? I was thinking of just taking the tool off when I’m done and going over my turn around spots by the fence.
I have an Ego mower and by itself it will not stripe at all. After giving up on stripers that fit I added 2 L brackets and a pushbroom and it works very well. I would like the real deal though so I'm going to look in to this. What I'd like to see you do is a video on how you keep people off of your lawn throughout the day. Between people walking their dogs and the Amazon delivery people I can't catch a break. My set up is like yours and I have a double wide driveway but nobody uses it. They all instist of walking right through the middle of the lawn. And I'm one of 3 people who actually care about my lawn on the street. All the garbage laws they won't walk on, then they"ll use their driveways. Drives me nuts.
When should I not bag my lawn? I always bag my smaller city lot; I also core aerate and rake my lawn myself. I’m just not sure if I should start intermittently mulching/spraying the grass?

I'm amazed you can role, pivot, and use the bag at the same time. Even if it drained the battery in half the time it would be with it. Speaking of electric push mowers, is there any talk about putting some kind of regenerative system on any of them. I mean while you pushing you could create a charge motion and if you have hills...
Great video Ryan. I have had my eye on the LS-3. My front lawn has a slight grade that I cut across. For those with the LS-3 do you do find that the striper would tilt with the grade as you mow? I am torn between the BLL and the LS-3 for my Honda HRN. The LS-3 wins for easy off on/off.

Not a lot of decent sized lawns to mow since half the property owners out here are converting to fake artificial lawns...which are horrible for the environment...but these people are idiots. I need a mower(preferably electric) that is capable of cutting low and have sufficient power… what would you recommend?

My Toro 40v is great for simple cutting. But it has some very annoying problems that don't happen with a gas powered mower: -If I cut long grass it tends to spit out too many clumps. Forcing me to mow more often than I want. -When doing a lawn dethatching. The mower doesn't create nearly enough vacuum to pick up the debris IMHO. They MUST figure out how to get these mowers to spin faster. They can't be used for anything other than simple cutting. Forcing people to also have a gas mower when doing anything else. Which defeats the purpose of buying an E mower in the first place.
I bought the original Lawn Stryper a few seasons ago and here is my observations... 1. The camera definitely adds to the striping effect, so don't be shocked when your stripes don't come out as bright and defined as in this video to your naked eye. 2. I've found that doing the Lawn Care Nuts double fat stripes give the best, cleanest look. 3. Ryan talked about there not being much weight added and I wouldn't say I agree. While it doesn't take away from enjoying the mow with a self propelled (I wouldn't recommend on a push mower), it definitely adds enough weight to the point that I've had to replace my rear wheels twice since I've gotten the striper because it wears out the tread. (I use a Honda mower). That's being said, my lawn definitely stands out from the neighbors, and I do like the Lawn Stryper.

The history of striped lawns comes from the old Locke reel mowers built in Bridgeport CT. They had full width rollers.

I love reel mowing but boy, there seems to be a sweet spot around 1" or so with rotary. PRG is looking lush as ever.

The stripes look good. I alternate my stripe pattern to avoid rutting the lawn as much. Horizontal, vertical, and 45 degrees in each direction.

I start it on mowing it again fairly soon. It's usually very resilient as long as you're careful with turns etc

I'd go with that blend by itself and not mix and I typically use a spreader unless it's a very small area
I bought the Universal one. Does it work with Craftsmen push mowers it's a 22' inch deck.

Very likely the electric motor is more powerful than the belt system on the gas mowers. I don't notice any difference in weight.
Why not ship the Lawn Stryper to Canada? I get the rationale with the seeds and liquid products. The stryper should not be a problem.
