I think it's really great that you are focusing on upgrading your current guys rather than getting more animals. I think it can be easy to keep wanting more in this hobby, but prioritizing the wellbeing of your current animals is very important and admirable
@@terraquaman That sounds like an excellent idea! The mechanical filter can only do so much, and changing the water periodically seems like it could disrupt your lil guy. Snails seem like a perfect way to handle any unwanted algae growth :)
@@terraquamanYou could get a small species of guppy fish? They are small enough for the water space you have +they help with cleaning/eating algae that may grow
@@Gingerale434unfortunately it’s way too small even for the smallest guppy fish- something this size is restricted to shrimp and snails only. It’s due to the instability of small amounts of water- even tiny fish produce comparatively a lot of waste which causes wildly fluctuating water parameters, dangerous for the health of all the creatures involved. I’d also say be careful with snails: they seem like a good clean up option but as an aquatic snail owner I can attest to the outrageous amount of waste they produce- way more than they clean. They are also super particular about which algae they eat- I think your best bet for reducing algae growth is actually the floating plants already in there- they compete with the algae for nutrients in the water and block the light algae needs to grow.
I think it’s awesome you have made the conscious decision to upgrade your current animals instead of getting more. It’s too common I see large collections that could be a little smaller and that change could mean the world to the happiness of the animals - I think we as a hobby need to focus on quality of life over quantity of rare animals. Great video!!!!!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I completely agree-quality of life for our animals is number 1 prio. Thanks for watching. Your support means a lot!
Giant snakes in small vivs with 1 hide and a bowl make me sad, I have a male bci in a 5x5ft viv (he loves to climb) and plan to upgrade again when i move
Pamela is breathtakingly beautiful. There were times when she glowed and didn't look real. I'm going to live vicariously through you and your anifam! You love her and it shows. Stay beautiful.
I kind of hate it when people let pets interact that way thinking it's cute. So many things can go wrong so quickly, it's not worth it you know? Snakes don't want to cuddle a cat and cats don't want to cuddle snakes so I agree it is best to just let them be friends from a distance.
Yup! Totally agree….If y’all seen the classic Jackie Chan film “Snake In The Eagles Shadow”, he actually learned from the cat (a stray) beat a poisonous snake & used that technique to beat a Master Of The Eagles Claw bec…well, I think I’ve said enough & you should all just watch that sick awesome flick. In other words, it’s your pet snake that would be in deep doo doo if ever Pamela decides to attack your beautiful cat 😂
It’s absolutely stunning!! And by the way you memorized all the plants in that room and you’re also not getting more animals so you can upgrade the tanks of the ones you already have, I love how much you care for them! Keep doing what you do❗️❤❤❤
I would recommend moving the branches away from the heat lamp. She could get burned if she accidentally touches it while roaming. Otherwise beautiful terrarium thank you for sharing!
Wow, what a lucky girl Pamela is, the home you made for her is awesome. It shows how much you love your babies. I'm not sure what was cuter...the kitty watching Pamela or Kiwi climbing the tri pod.
Your animals are so precious, especially your cat wanting to be friends. You so clearly think of what's best for your animals and it shows, and they all look like they trust you and that you respect all of them for what they are. Lovely to see, and love Pamela's new pond especially. She looked like she really enjoyed herself in the new housing!
Not even 20 minutes in and I'm already loving this guy. I mean One he super focused and amazing at what's he's doing making everything look so so simple yet already not even looking at the finished project its so good and beautiful. Second I love how he's using old tanks from other animals for newer animals, its a simple idea yet I just like it I mean it almost reminds me of real life, in the far far past most of the land today was underwater and over time the land became exposed and possibly used to be a desert and now a lake or canyon and he turns that idea with his tanks and yes its a simple idea and he might not of thought about it like this but I really do love it and love to think about it, I cant wait to do stuff like this one day. Third He has a flipping basilisk one of my favorite reptiles and in such a huge and beautiful enclosure, and as well as having a cute rainbow boa and a bearded dragon I can already tell I'm going to love this channel. Watching this makes me want to make my own custom enclosure for my pet snake and the future reptiles and possibly amphibians to come! I'm so glad I found this channel and cant wait to see more!
Wow, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words and for appreciating the details! I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying the content and that it's inspiring you for your own setups. Your support means a lot, and I can't wait to share more with you! 😊
This has been one of my favorite videos on TH-cam . Thank you so much for sharing . I absolutely love the effort you put into this video and taking care of your wonderful snake . i had a red tail boa 27 years ago and want another snake now but can't find The One . Your Girl is Stunning .
Absolutely awesome build, and she looks great within it (especially the last shots when she comes out of the bark hide and slides into the water). Thank you👍
You accommodated her behavior so well! Seeing her chilling underwater and retreating to her hide underground after eating, both features made for her, was so cool!
I love how much care went into what plant species are in the terrarium. I am learning better what can grow happily in my aquatic tanks but spice it up a little, and this gave me inspiration
AAAA Pamela is so beautiful! The enclosure turned out so nice, she’s definitely a happy snake :) also I love the ‘beast routine’ chart; very resourceful and so cute
Hi! I saw your channel for the first-time. and I need to comment down because there are so many thing I'm amazed about. An absolute pleasure to watch. I haven't had snakes in fifteen years, I couldn't as a young adult moving around a lot (had them as a kid living at my parents), but I had two Colombian rainbow boas before. I love your work, I have to say Pamela is absolutely beautiful and so is her new enclosure you can see how happy your animals are in your videos, it’s so true about the glow in their eyes you can tell when they are not happy where they are at. I noticed it when I upgraded my leopard gecko’s enclosure to an all natural one instead of reptile carpet and pet store hides, she loves to dig, hide, and climb. I love your reptiles and they are so pretty and they look healthy!, the way kiwi fell took me out! I love how your enclosures look and they are awesome. Great job at this one! Looks amazing ❤
Thank you for sharing your videos, I really enjoy the tank upgrades for the same animals - fewer and happier is so much better in my opinion. I think the tree like plant is called a ‘barbed wire plant’, hope it grows well for you.
That cat is displaying play behaviors, which means she probably thinks the snake is a friend, which is more of a “idk what that is” thing for cats. Shes curious about the snake :] thats cute
That is a predator behavior, not a friendly behavior. Cats play with their prey. Cats are predators for a lot of snakes. Snakes are prey to cats. In fact the cat is probably stressing out the boa just by sitting in front of the enclosure. I have a cat and a ball python. I keep them very much separated.

Good job! Your builds are always unique. This one got me subscribed because I have 2 pythons of my own in their active terrariums. A few months ago, I was watching what you did for Kiwi. Now I have a dragon upstairs as well. It is good to maximize the hobby for the enrichment of each animal, rather than to keep getting new ones. There is always more to learn
That plant you asked about at 8:33 is called a Sophora Prostrata, commonly refrred to as "Little Baby". It's a type legume (although its pods/peas aren't edible). A good nitrogen fixer, it prefers a well draining soil.
Satt och tittade, och så plockade du fram en påse med blomjord. ”Men vafan, han är ju svensk!” Har aldrig sett någon härifrån som har en sån här typ av kanal. Då har jag något nytt att följa. Kul! 😊
Love your build, such a naturalistic enclosure! Also like how Pamela is able to fit her entire body in her pond, climb and also hide 🐍 I have two questions, are there two UVB lamps or is the halogen lamp above the pond a heating source? I recommend putting a lamp cover on both your UVB lamp and especially the heating lamp(if that’s what it is). This will protect Pamela from getting burned by getting too close to the UVB lamp/connections in the lamp tube, as well as the heat lamp. Also, halogen lamps are known to have a burning effect which may affect the humidity levels as well as cause excessive algae growth in Pamela’s pond. I recommend the ceramic heat lamp from Arcadia. Thanks for sharing your builds!
Thank you so much! It was indeed fantastic to watch her fully submerged in the pond. There’s just one uvb lamp and one heat lamp. Many has pointed out the danger and risk without a heat cage so I’ll definitely add one even though she’s night active. And I might even switch to a ceramic bulb. Thanks for the input! 😀
im only a recent subscriber, but i think your channel is incredible!! the cinematography, the animals, all the time and effort all turn out to make very quality videos. keep up the awesome work, we would all love to see more!!💞🐍
Bro this is the first video I’ve seen from your channel and your quality of content is amazing. I legit wanted to stick around all the way to the end and it’s great to see that you want to expand your animals’ enclosure and give them a better home. Many people just get a random fish tank and put their snake in it and expect them to live in it for their entire life, but you’re certainly not that type of person. The enclosure looks beautiful, especially because it is a paludarium. An enclosure with a small pond is always the best looking one. And I didn’t know Rainbow Boas were so beautiful, especially when she was in the water she looked so damn cool, reminded me of Green Anacondas. Definitely do more Paludarium styled enclosures. Love your work man and keep up with your amazing work 🙌❤
Thanks so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it!! Paludariums are definitely my favorite type of vivariums. It’s funny that you say so because I think Clint’s reptiles said something about rainbow boas being related to anacondas. 🐍
I finally got my baby rainbow boa! Im working on turning a 6x2x4 into a Paludarium. My main concern is making sure it is watertight sealed. That is so much harder than I thought. 😅
@@terraquaman I’ve noticed my bulbs are still relatively warm after turning off for a while so I feel it’s better to have them not to have and I notice some of my nocturnal species will be active during the day!

Thanks ! Unfortunately it didn’t make it…
Satt och tittade, och så plockade du fram en påse med blomjord. ”Men vafan, han är ju svensk!”
Har aldrig sett någon härifrån som har en sån här typ av kanal. Då har jag något nytt att följa. Kul! 😊
Tack så mycket för att du tittar! Kul att kunna erbjuda något nytt att följa. Hoppas du fortsätter att tycka om kanalen! 😊
Love your build, such a naturalistic enclosure! Also like how Pamela is able to fit her entire body in her pond, climb and also hide 🐍
I have two questions, are there two UVB lamps or is the halogen lamp above the pond a heating source?
I didn't realize that Beardies could climb!! Cool!
They love it 😀
That shot of her in the water was beautiful
Thank you so much!
she looks so cute relaxing in her little pond
Indeed 🥰
This is an excellent setup and shows you really care about making the best homes for your animals, not TH-cam. Keep it up!
Thank you very much! Will do 😀
The diy hide looks great actually haha

That’s awesome thank you so much! 😊
Just came across your channel and love it. Yes even from Oz when she struck I shit myself also. Love snakes just can't hold them.
Thanks for the support! 😀
It’s funny that you say so because
I think Clint’s reptiles said something about rainbow boas being related to anacondas. 🐍
I finally got my baby rainbow boa! Im working on turning a 6x2x4 into a Paludarium. My main concern is making sure it is watertight sealed. That is so much harder than I thought. 😅
That’s awesome!
Yeah I hear you 😆
I love this vid its the first one i saw from ur channel!❤
Thank you so much ❤️
@@terraquaman no problem!
I highly suggest a heat cage for ur bulb!! They are cheap on Amazon and risk a very nasty burn and vet bill😊
Thanks ! She’s nocturnal so didn’t think I needed one but I’ll install one just to be safe 😊
@@terraquaman I’ve noticed my bulbs are still relatively warm after turning off for a while so I feel it’s better to have them not to have and I notice some of my nocturnal species will be active during the day!
Very underrated TH-camr🦎🐍
Appreciate it thanks!
