The church & shame goes hand in hand which is why I steered away from religion in 2011 and never looked back! I love this conversation by the way, new sub! I crave deep conversations like this, the surface level content gets so boring
Thank you for sharing your deep insights, beautiful Wan Lin!🌹 And as always, perfect timing!! To me, shame is an invisible cage. You said it beautifully that shame is like a dementor sucking energy out of you. So so true. I recently found this quote that resonated with how my shame manifested itself in my life, "Shame is over-analyzing every little detail surrounding oneself to appease an invisible presence lying in wait for your next mistake." And what you said about people from the past that you have not spoken to in a while... You are spot on. I literally just had a friend that I have not spoken to in 6 years reach out to me. We texted for a couple of hours and at first, I was excited to reconnect but quickly I realized I was feeling low and drained, as if I was 18 years old again when I felt like everyone around me was better than me. I've been on a journey to free myself from the layers of shame, guilt, and anger towards myself that built up and I am so so happy I found you. 🌺 Thank you! 🌻
i love your comment at the end about feeling bad about having food waiting in the fridge! The only thing I purchase in advance are non-perishables or long shelf life items like some beverages and snacks. I think part of it is just how pricey and difficult it is to purchase fresh food in small, single servings. Sometimes I only want to make one salad that week, or perhaps have a single dinner loaf, or even a single slice of cake, but the baseline is 4-6 servings almost everywhere and we are even compelled to give more money because of bulk pricing for food that will ultimately go bad if not eaten quickly, and then just creating more shame about "wasting" it. During summer months I am lucky to have my garden for produce but it's always tough in winter! Much love from me to you, La Princesse!
Hey beautiful wan Lin, I don’t like to write comments, but I truly enjoy watching most of your videos again and again, almost every night before going to bed. It has become a ritual for me to keep the content fresh in my mind and not forget it. I even share your content with my husband, appreciating the wisdom you bring.😊
Shame, doubt and guilt are all low vibratory frequencies, shame can only take precedence in your life only if you seek inclusion and acceptance from individuals how are hollow inside, hate themselves and who are overall flawed beings, the antidote for shame is self-love, loving and accepted yourself both the good and bad, in its entirety and if you do this there will be no room for shame. Also no one on this planet should be judging each other because we are all flawed which is what means to be a human being, and if you believe that you're perfect and your already there, then what's left for you to improve upon, how do you develop, grow and expand if not for lessons learned from mistakes.
Yes yes, but look. What do I care if you have bomb-ass sex skills, unless… well, simply put, there’s no way to put that in your CV. Also, notice how the humble person has even less to lose that the confident person. Just putting that out there in case anyone is interested in approaching the ultimate heights of self control. I appreciate the Plato reference. Very nice 👍
I was getting ready to go volunteer at this museum and suddenly my phone starts playing your video. I hear your voice talking about shame, fear, and guilt... And I realized that I was going today mainly out of guilt and a little bit of shame and fear because I just started last week, and I already feel like quitting. It's unpaid work (visa status) but I have to work so that my resume stays updated and will 'sell' when the time to look for paid work arrives. But I'm not really enjoying the environment and my work at the museum. idk... we'll see. Anyway, nice video! Thanks.
I am genuinely curious, how do you feel about the fact that animals eat one another as part of their food chain? I am vegetarian myself but I don’t understand where vegans are coming from enough to commit to a vegan diet.
I know that it boils down to not making anything else suffer for your own sake. But this kind of thing is literally built into the design of most habitats, creatures, biomes in nature. So how does that work?
I have tried vegan diets on and off over the years, and it just hasn't worked long term for me yet. Thank you for reminding me to minimize suffering ♥️
I try to look out for products produced by forced labour or child labour first, try to minimise animals suffering second. Most notably, chocolate and coffee have become so cheap most of them are made with trafficked child slaves. I used to think nobody cares, but now I realise if I care, that’s all that matters. Because it’s my body. My energy. Literally calories!

Mel robbins would love you!
you look so different in thumbnail I didn't recognize you
I am very surprised you are not vegan. I wish you were. It's an amazing feeling to know your money doesn't support anybody's pain.

What source of iron do you recommend ?
