I can't wait to play this game. This is gonna be my first time playing Super Mario RP. G. Which I figured this is gonna be fun and exciting. The enemies are fun. The bosses are even cooler. seven star guardians that work for smithy are tuff 3:14 and 3:16 and 3:22 and 3:23 and 3:24 and 3:27 and 4:32
One of my favorite games growing up. So glad that Culex should be making a return as well.
As far as hidden bosses go, he was extremely difficult to beat.
Once you understood which crystal did what it wasn't that bad....good item management and group makeup was key though. Still an excellent crossover from the FF games.
That song in the battle though is so gooooooood
There's rumor of an even harder boss coming in too, aside from Culex. If you recall, Culex's door required the Shiny Stone to enter, but the scene in the trailer shows a new "Extra Shiny Stone"...
@@internallyscreaming90the song was sooo awesome, it was slightly different than the regular final fantasy version, it was Mario rpg-ified, so many people didn’t realize this somehow, and people say the song is good and they’d condescendingly say “ mario rpg? They might have USED it, but this is from final fantasy.” I don’t know how they couldn’t tell that it was slightly different sounding- and yeah, somehow that slight difference made it so good!! Glad to see someone else thought the same about it that I did, it always got me pumped. Sorry for the long rambling comment I’m falling asleep as I type this.

@@SS4Ricky It's closer to 28 years ago and I remember buying it on its release date in March of 1996 and having a blast playing it.
It's such an unreal blessing that this was remade and that all the Mario RPG OGs and newbies get to experience this masterpiece! Such a delightful game.

It's just so weird now that Nintendo has a handheld and a console put into one and there's not many Mario remakes/remasters compared to what was on the DS/3DS. They could be testing the waters now with Mario RPG and how they're doing the same with Mario Vs. Donkey Kong GBA and Luigi's Mansion 2

I only played Super Paper Mario but I heard it is inferior to the N64 original Paper Mario
Think the devs even mentioned an interest in making a Super Mario RPG sequel, so if this game sells well, there just may be a chance to enjoy that as well :)
@@nc7537 There was supposed to be one for the N64 disk drive but because the disk drive failed it was canceled and was reworked into Paper Mario for the N64

I remember being a kid when a gameplay from the original game popped in my youtube. It was my first contact with videogames and since then I have been a fan of videogames because of it. It gives me so many good laughs from those times where you could relax and not be in 4 world crisis events at the same time.

I cannot stress how much I'm looking forward to this game. I have so many nostalgic memories from the original and I hope this opens the door for future games like this.
So hyped for this! I had a buddy that had this growing up but never actually owned it myself so this will be a day 1 purchase for me! The option to toggle between the original OST is such a nice little bonus and all the QOL improvements seem awesome! And then next year we got TTYD!? Amazing! 😻

This is the first RPG I ever played as a kid and I have been hooked since. The new art direction looks SO GOOD, I can’t wait!

@@elmallocthe Overview Trailer goes over quite a lot of new additions, changes and updates, and I’m sure there’s even more. Plus, it’s now playable on Switch with updated graphics, at a higher resolution and probably a higher frame rate.
Agreed, fundamentally it is the same game, so if you decide what’s new/changed/updated is not enough, by all means pass on this remake, or wait for a sale or something.
In any case, I hope you continue to enjoy playing the games you like!

It did show that there may be some Name Changes though - the Guerillas were originally known as 'Chained Kongs', and I can't remember if a Recolour used that Name...

I just preordered this today! This was the very first RPG I ever played and instilled my love of RPGs to this day! This is always at the top of my list of favorite Mario games.
This is one of my top 5 SNES games, I can't wait to play the remake! This is what it looked like to me when it came out all those years ago, and I'm glad a new generation can get in on the fun
This was one of the finest presents I could have gotten for not just my birthday but also for my graduation from grade school. I am madly in love with this game, no matter what version is available.

I remember spending so many hours in the minigames here. Especially Mushroom Derby and the tadpole one. So glad I will be able to relive my childhood in this game.
This and Chrono Trigger are my earliest video game memories, watching my brothers play it as a kid, making up stories about the characters. I'm very excited about the remastered music, and I never expected to get the classic versions of the songs as well! Very cool.

Mother & I spend hours upon hours playing this back in the day. It’s one of if not my most favorite RPG games of all time. Can’t wait to play this with my kids & wish my mom was still alive to once again enjoy it.

I feel a humongous nostalgia overload is going to occur once I start playing this game on launch day. It's going to blow me away with all the joy I had when playing it back on the Super Nintendo.
I've still got my SNES copy of this treasure, with the manual even. I'm very much looking forward to this remake, it's like seeing an old friend again.

I still remember some of the tones till this day.
I played the original way back when and it is truly a treasure of a game. The characters, bosses, story, atmosphere and music just worked so well with each other.
Once remakes were starting to become a thing I had always hoped that we would get a legit remake for this game. This is an immediate day 1 purchase.
Hope this stirs the pot for a true sequel for this game.
I am so hype for this remake!!! I hope thos means we'll get a return to form with proper Mario RPGs, given this, and TTYD's remake.
Hopefully we get a proper sequel in the future, since the original sequel to this game became Paper Mario. Speaking of which, I hope the original Paper Mario gets a remake someday 🥺

No joke my Brother had a habit of trading tons of game systems and the SNES with Mario RPG is what made me love the RPG genre so much and to this day ive still used Emulators to replay this game and relive a highlight of my childhood it fills me with so much joy that some kid may play this game and love it as much as i did way back

This updated version addresses all the issues that made it difficult to introduce my kiddo to this absolute gem of a game on the SNES Classic console. While that version will always hold a special place in my heart, this new version looks to be an absolute banger, and I can't wait to throw it into Breezy mode and just have fun with it! Thank you so much Nintendo!!

My grandma bought me my first Super Nintendo and this game like 24 years ago. She is no longer living, but I still have this game and my original Super Nintendo. It's very special to me, and I have so many fond memories of playing this at Grandma's house. Thank you Nintendo for remastering my favorite Mario game of all time. I hope so many others enjoy it as much as I have.

@@ryan20028 The only thing that saddens me about that so called "remake" is that it is going to be *30 fps* (while the Gamebube OG was *60 fps.)*
I don't wish to play a game on "30 fps" nowadays (especially one that has *"precise button presses"), so I'm hoping the Paper Mario remake will also come to *Nintendo's next gen console* and that it will be *60 fps* on the new console, and if so, I would rather wait until then to play it (or play the OG on Dolphin emulator worse case scenario...).

I grew up playing Super Mario RPG and it is still to this day my favorite game. I am so excited for this! It looks so faithful to the original, I have no doubt it's going to deliver.

I hope this opens the door for more revivals like the Mario & Luigi series. A port of the whole series would suffice for me. More people deserve to try those games too. Though I'm very happy to see this classic coming back to life and getting the love it deserves. Yes, I played it, completed it and loved it too.

This game remake can change the classic SNES music in the settings? YES!!! I've always wanted to play this game along with the Paper Mario TTYD remake. I've never played both originals cuz it's already sold out in stores since I saw the gameplay in 2008.
One of the best games ever made and definitely the best of all the Mario RPG games. When Super Mario 64 came out, I was disappointed to see that Mario and Bowser were back to being enemies without any explanation. I mean, I get it now, but as a kid I felt sad that they were no longer allies.

Bowser was not a good guy in this game though. He was never Mario's friend. Mario and Bowser had a common enemy. Mario figured that he rather deal with Bowser's shenanigans than this new evil, and Bowser needed more a stronger help.

This game is gonna be so good! My first rpg game I played when I was 6. Happy they made it true to the OG with some extras to it. It all looks perfect. Even with the switch being almost 7 years old this looks amazing!
This was always a childhood favorite. I never thought I'd ever see a remake... this generation is full of surprises. Trials of Mana getting an official release, Sonic Mania and an official Sonic 3&K rerelease, etc etc...
Hearing the music again and seeing this makes me so happy. I still play my original cart but this remake/port whatever yah wanna call it looks great. I got to get it!
Combat looks simple, but fun. Would appreciate NG+ or even higher difficulty modes later down the line. Nintendo, please bring back the Mario and Luigi RPG series, if this release goes well.

If anything, the original's main flaw is that it was a bit too easy, and this looks even easier with the additional battle mechanics and iconic "idiot-proof mode" that nintendo puts in every game in recent years, a NG+ system or additional challenge modes like the boss rematches from the other RPGs would be perfect
and sadly with alphadream being dead I doubt the greatest RPG series ever made will come back

This was the game that showed me there is more than just side scroll and platformers. It may not be the game that got me playing video games but it was the reason I stayed playing video games. I love this game and can not wait to play it again as an adult.
I remember reading about this in a Nintendo snes magazine, and rushed to my local game store to then be told it wasn’t released in the uk. Many years later I can actually preorder it for the switch 😊
Wow never knew that. Depending on your age, this could have been arguably the best game on the console. At 10 years old when it came out, I was in awe. The difficulty was just right and the humor never felt replicated until the Lego games (before they ruined them by having them talk).
Can't wait to revisit my childhood. I still know the SNES version like the back of my hand. Good to know the FF cameo extra boss is still in Monster Town.
This game got me into RPGs. Cannot wait that long to pick it up again.

I still can't believe this is happening. Never did I ever think I'd get to play Super Mario RPG again, the game that first got me into RPGs as a genre. I just hope my pre-order (I went for a physical copy) comes in on time.
I got stuck at the sunken ship when I first owned the snes version. My dad gave my snes to relatives in the Philippines . Now’s my chance to beat the game.

(1:07) Well thats confusing. Geno isn't a messenger. They're a Star **Warrior**. They weren't sent to help Mario or the party at all. Likewise, they were initially on a solo mission to get the stars back, and Mario happened to save Geno before they got their teeth kicked in.

@@martinr3648 I doubt it. It may have been that the Trailer writers didn't understand the game, or wasn't given a script. YOu can easily say "Help Mario assist a warrior of the stars during his journey". Heck, they already spoiled Mallow believing he's a frog... :P
