    I did this strategy for a client of mine a few weeks ago. I thought I was being lazy by not segmenting keywords by ad group. Surprisingly the strategy worked and I can see how Google is now favoring meaning and intent now. And the keyword insertion is a secret weapon not many ppl used but works wonders.

      Yeah it does take time to get your head around the fact that less is more for search ad groups now. Glad to see you got some great results for your client

      Hi Jay. You wouldn't be able to have like a quick chat ab some of the experience you have with the new way Google manages keyword matchtypes or like the new general strategy, would you? I am in a pickle at the moment and I am afraid i might lose my only client soon if I dont get this cleared up. Regards Johan

    I would love four you to elaborate a bit more on the reason for having ONE broad match and the the rest of the keywords as phrase or exact match?

    Hey Aaron, would you have all three match types in one ad group? Is it even beneficial anymore to separate exact match from phrase and broad?

    i understand the shift in creating ad groups based on intent and theme, but in this video the structure is 1 BM keyword and a bunch of PM match keywords with DKI implementation. However in another video of yours, you mention having the base key-phrase in EM and the remaining long-tail keywords in BM. which one is the more sound strategy? Im always weary of DKI because people misspell their inquiries constantly (on purpose and/or by mistyping) and the DKI will show a misspelled headline if used.

    Not too sure about the obsolescence of SKAGs, Aaron. The ones I use have a much higher conversion rate than BM / PhM ad groups (and campaigns).

    On this one I have a combo of feelings. The actions and video editting were seen well but it became boring after a while. Could sound more eye or ear-catching to newcomers.

    Thanks for the video. Some comments here:
    1. You are targeting actually 2 Broad kws in the screen. I assume it is not big difference, as long as we keep them controlled?
    2. The ad groups should still be grouped by theme, and creating relevant ads per each
    3. As a rule of thumb is it always DKI pinned as first? Do you see it working well in all cases?

      Hi Patrick no I would not be worried. Focus more on CTR & Conversation % in your split testing to decide the performance of any ad.
      I released a video on this topic a couple of weeks ago to explain this further as well

      Yes that is ok but I still use some broad match KWs (2-3) with 3 or 4 words in them

    I still don't understand why it gave you any better results when you halved the # of ad groups. I know you said it was duplicating things, but what specifically made it cheaper & better results?

    When using DKI, how do I make certain words to be capitalized? The existing syntax KeyWord, Keyword, keyword, keyWord doesn't work for my case. For instance, if I want to advertise for MP3 Converter, it will be Mp3 Converter using DKI keyWord

      no works for any. But with a BM kw you risk that a search term triggers a kw that does not relate too much and you would see it in the ad. You have more control with PM.

    Loving the content Aaron. I have a single product Shopify store selling something that is a protective cover. People may use the word bag, cover or protector in their search terms for what is the same product. How would you suggest this distinction is handled across campaigns / ad groups? I'm also wondering if Google will treat these as the same thing and if I need to split out. Really unsure about this one. Thank you :).

    Hey Aaron. Can you tell me, if you already have a campaign setup a certain way, what is the BENEFIT of consolidation? The client you show in the video has setups to cater to different types of intent. Google has thrown a bomb into that. OK. But why does merging keywords help at all? What kind of KPI increases can be seen by merging? How does merging your ad groups create cheaper cpcs/better CPAs?

    If i follow your video adgroup structure and if i have synonyms for a realtor like "house agent", "property agent", "real estate agent" should i all fit them in one adgroup since it has the same meaning and intent ? I've optimise my ad based on your Keyword insertion, What do i need to do in my landing page to make my keyword have high quality score?

    My Google ads not showing data (like impressions -0, views-0, demographics etc...) I Got the data from my very first campaign and after that no data for new campaigns. Ads are running 100% and I'm getting views on TH-cam, But I need the data to plan upcoming campaigns. Can't find the solution. Also contacted google support and got the useless list of likely solution. Can anyone help?

So, you have 43 keywords in 1 ad group, I have 1 service and I have 1 ad group with 303 keywords... which 128 are PM and 175 are EM are too many keywords? should I remove them or put them into another ad group? ( like: move the keywords that are getting impressions/click from the one that are not give impressions/click ? )
