I love being alone. Ive been asked countless times from other people, "why are you so quiet? Why are you shy? Come over and talk to us." I understand why theyre saying that and i dont blame them. But i find a lot more peace, enjoyment and fulfillment in spending time alone, working on my art, while everyone else talks and wastes their breath. Being alone is a blessing. I also think having less / no friends is better. The only friends that matter is family as they are much less likely to ever leave you. Ive lost amazing 12-13 year long friendships and i have never have felt more free in my life. Im not saying to break up with all your friends but instead to only keep the ones that matter. Bad / meaningless friendships steal from your life while good ones add to it.
@@david4096 I agree, and this topic runs deep. Control mechanisms only work in a system where there is reliance on the emotional support of others. Independent people can spot manipulators quickly because the controller has no leverage with them.

True isolation for a certain amount of time can completely transform a man. There's a reason terms like monk mode and ghosting became so popular. Lock yourself away for 6 months, work on anything consistently in these 6 months and watch how you'll come out as a master or a transformed human. Amazing video
im almost 24 and ive spent about 6-7 years alone now, and when you're just with yourself all the time you are forced to make yourself better company for yourself or you suffer, you face yourself, you find yourself, you let go of baggage and things that weigh you down, you align yourself, your mind, your emotions, your very awareness, ive never experienced as much clarity, joy, peace and love than what i do right now at this point in my life so far, and i used to suffer intense depression and anxiety in 2019-2021, spending time with yourself going within is really the key to any lasting fulfilment and wholeness.
I agree it can force you to focus on yourself, but the extra "in a good way" part isn't necessarily true though. It can have adverse effects just as much as positive ones. That's a fact that many studies on solitary periods have shown. Let's not pretend solitude is all roses and peace of mind when it can just as well be thorns and torment.
Im most producive alone. Ive done all of my best work in solitude. Lockdown, forcing everyone to isolate for a whike, levelled up pretty much everything in my life. Before that i lived in the country for 10 years, by myself. Had visitors occasionally. I produced the most art in my life during that time and it became a career. I got in the best shape of my life.
Its very true i used to be around people alot when you choose the path of the loner its difficult first but if you overcome the edge you will understand that you have more peace. Some People really mess with your inner peace i had to let them all go
I never liked, shared, and subscribed so fast in my entire life until after fully watching this video. The type of reassurance I got from this video is invaluable.
Noticed too many people think loneliness is synonymous with being alone. It is not. Loneliness is the negative emotional response of ones desire for companionship.
Personally I prefer to be somewhat alone most of the time. I of course enjoy my time around family and friends but, when I’m alone I feel the most peaceful and content.
Hard to be lonely when you're learning. Thank you for this video, it helps clarify some things that have been on my mind lately. People in my life may feel i have forgotten them but i know i have much work to do on developing the mind, body and spirit. Plus I've developed some kindness but little compassion and need to learn to love more deeply
I never had a problem being alone until I met my husband who was also a loner. Then we found amazing company between the two of us. I shouldn't have gotten so used to it, he was killed in a car crash by a drunk driver who left me badly injured and crippled for months depending on others while also caring for our 3 surviving children under 6. I have been so scared of being alone ever since, I feel so weak and vulnerable. It's terrible what depending on others does to you, it robs you of peace and dignity.
Wish you the absolute best. Try not to blame yourself for seeking love as it is human nature, it’s not like you could’ve seen any of that coming. I’ll pray for you and your journey🙏🏼
I am sorry to read of this tragedy. Remember that while you are a loner, it is times such as this that the help of others is a blessing, though of course it has left you feeling vulnerable, which is to be expected. Praying your inner strength will return. Keep us updated! 🙏
I love to be in solitude and by myself - not all but most of the time. I can only handle other people, noise, crowds, traffic etc. in very small, infrequent doses. I find I'm happiest this way.
I thought I was like that but I also found I love being around people like me with similar interests and thoughts. For me, a good example is the Renaissance Faire. I could be with people like that all day…mostly lol

I’ve learn a lot from this video and from reading the contents. I don’t feel bad anymore for having this strong urge to be alone for a while. I really believe I need it.
As a child and teen my family treated me as a bit of an outsider becauae I was an introvert and loner. They took my need to br alone in my room personally. It destroyed me. I wasn't doing anything wrong. I ended up feeling like something was wrong with me and suffered from depression anxiety and low self esteem. Now 48 years old and still a loner and a homebody but I learned to understand over 20 years ago that this is my journey and I feel most at peace when I'm alone.
I went thru the same thing as a child. Always considered the black sheep because I was always in my room opposed to being out. I used to think something was wrong with me but once I got older I realized it was actually a gift. I love my family as I know you love yours, but unless they have the same mindset you do they’ll never understand and that my friend is more than fine!
Solitude has taught me so much, and I do get asked alot, why don't you ever feel lonely? But I never have felt that way, it's taught me to master my own emotions and not to think too far ahead and not too far back, it's given me great mental strength, which sadly is how I lost my brother 13 years ago, he had great physical strength but no mental strength, I found a healthy medium, I miss him but haven't grieved like others around me who have completely debilitated there lives, which I feel great empathy for, but he would not like me or others around me that love him to be consumed with soul stopping sadness, for me it would not honour his memory to think that way, but I respect how those around me wish to grieve, the only thing I can put it down to is my mental resolve from solitude, and I know not everyone can do it, thankyou for this video you've made me reflect on my thinking and the thinking of others around me
I’ve been in solitude forever / Virgo here.. We are known for this… We are hermits and love to be alone. We are never lonely because we learn to enjoy our peace.

I really enjoyed this video. As an artist, solitude is essential to the production of creative endeavors. I have not read the Dokkodo, but I have read the book of five rings, which is another one of Musahi's writings, and I highly recommend it as well. In the end, it seems like the only thing we truly have control over is ourselves, so why not evolve into the best self that we can achieve.
Someone told me about the book of 5 rings. He gave me the rundown of who he was detailing some of his battles with other warriors. He said he used deception and got in his opponents heads. One story being he showed up late in the afternoon when he had told a challenger to meet him on an island early in the morning causing his opponent to be furious by the time he showed up hours later. As the opponent approached him angrily as he was docking his boat he turned around and beat him to death with an oar. That's pretty brutal. Is that accurate? I would definitely like to read the book.
@@DavidC2-fc7tj Yes, that's the nuts and bolts of it. He killed a famous swordsman with a wooden boat paddle. He also would not bathe for extended periods of time to also distract his opponents.

This was awesome and lot to learned from doing this. I have always felt that being a loner was not a bad thing but a way of having peace with self and staying focused. But being a loner feels alone at time or cutoff, but it's all in how we perceive things, especially when it comes to self.

Back in my early teens I was just admiring musashi for his combats and the name he left behind. Just because I found him cool I tried to study his 21 principles and failed miserably, I didn't even understand a godamn thing😂😂. But now I can understand his each principles and their meaning and I can pretty much relate his every principle to my current life. The thing I am trying to say is, through the recent years and all the things in which I failed and lost to external things had taught me to understand the way of philosophy. "those who never suffered in life, can never understand philosophy" -by me.

@@Jeriel_Lux Your comment reminded me of a children's joke that goes like this: Two shipwrecked, one male and the other female arrived on a tinny, tinny deserted island with a single coconut tree. They were very hungry and it happened to appear a floating metal box from the kitchen of the ship. They opened it and inside there was a perfectly, fresh and edible stew of garbanzos. The man started chewing fast but the girl did not touch the food. The man asks her "Why don't you eat? and she says with a gesture of repulsion, "There is a hair in it".

"if you are alone and miserable, you are obviously in bad company" - an enlightened being has dissolved into the cosmic consciousness, for that person there is no fear or anxiety, there is liberation - in his solitude, he finds bliss
No, they find in the end that they have been deceived by Satan, and that Jesus was right all along. Its just too late at that point. They believed the lie of Satan that he deceived himself with, then our first parents Adam and Eve, that they could be like God (your cosmic consciousness), instead of Receiving Christ as their Saviour for their sins and receiving forgiveness of their sins and eternal life with the Lord tht created them.

When I die, I don’t want anyone showing up to my funeral bc when I was alive all I experienced was fake love from so many people. I lived in solitude and I shall die in solitude. But as I am alive and living in positivity and self care, that’s the most happiest that I’ll experience in my life.
Loneliness itself is like pain, a signal of something within that needs to be healed. Aloneness is required to align, integrate and reflect universal foundations without being sidelined by disruption. The presence of distraction itself is a signal mechanism, like pain, indicating there exists opportunity to mature. Aloneness is a fundamental art form that must be mastered within before it can produce its fruit in the world. Aloneness requires the sacrifice of everything, yet when all else is as nothing, there comes the paradoxical revelation that nothing can be lost in the experience of presence alone.

Real shit. Studied it in and off my whole life. Thats about 35 years. As i began at age of 6 or so. Detaching from mother and father, developing my own mind. My mother helped with this. It started with a love of ninjas at young age. Moved on from there. I still use all these teachings and more today. I tried living with people. They almost always let me down. Only maybe 3 really stuck with me. But killing ego, i learned from every person i came across regardless of color, religion, or any other meaningless construct. Past few years got back into it heavy. Really got to know myself and where ive been and what ive done. I do have a compassion for mankind. But i study them from a distance. Help them along from a distance. If they want to be helped. Good video. Many books on this stuff folks.
The lonely I need is pure pain in the gym. My mind goes quiet, the heavy metal on my ears go loud but i'm not there. Only the beast. All the stress goes in one hour of fury and them i'm back. Happy and feeling alive. This is my way of meditation. (listening to music while reading once or twice a week is great too)

Value of solitude = take responsibility of ur own life
People are the source of stress. Collectivism is a bunch of incompetent people leaning on each other. Individualist are self reliant.
Yes🙏🏼 Without the distraction
Most people want to hold you back anyway .They love control.
@@david4096 I agree, and this topic runs deep.
Control mechanisms only work in a system where there is reliance on the emotional support of others. Independent people can spot manipulators quickly because the controller has no leverage with them.
@@qua7771 you yourself are the source of your stress, people is important for living, but never depend emotionally on someone, that is unhealthy

I need this because I live this way. Everyday! day in and day out.
Alone is the best medicine for happiness. Being with negative family members is like a mental illness destroying slowly our happiness. Whenever i stay alone i find myself the most happiness in me.

Loneliness gave me power over emotions and taught me to love
Wow, I've been somewhat following these ways of living unknowingly. The happiness that comes from these experiences are very authentic and long lasting. I could never put it into exact words but Miyamoto described it perfectly. The hardest part for me is the being content with oneself while striving for more. Because I always feel like I want to do better and better. Cheers to a fulfilling and happy life everyone. Much love
Being alone gives you the power to focus on your thoughts. In a good way. Dive deep into your inner self. See you soon
Thank you
😌💯

Some People really mess with your inner peace i had to let them all go
I’m a natural extrovert, but whenever I get the chance to, I try to be alone. I love the quiet moments. And being by myself in the house alone.
This is probably the wisest video on the internet.
I never liked, shared, and subscribed so fast in my entire life until after fully watching this video. The type of reassurance I got from this video is invaluable.
Wow, thank you! glad you found value in it!
I’m finding solitude more and more exciting every day 😮😎🤓
It's a blessing to have a peace of mind
I’m so sorry to hear this. I pray that you find comfort in your children and that you find peace and solitude again.
Wish you the absolute best. Try not to blame yourself for seeking love as it is human nature, it’s not like you could’ve seen any of that coming. I’ll pray for you and your journey🙏🏼
Your Kids will be so proud of you in the Future to have such a strong mother
I pray for you and ur children to jus be in ur futures❤️🙏🏾
I am sorry to read of this tragedy.
Remember that while you are a loner, it is times such as this that the help of others is a blessing, though of course it has left you feeling vulnerable, which is to be expected.
Praying your inner strength will return.
Keep us updated! 🙏
100% what I'm thinking, saying and doing since years
I love to be in solitude and by myself - not all but most of the time. I can only handle other people, noise, crowds, traffic etc. in very small, infrequent doses. I find I'm happiest this way.
I thought I was like that but I also found I love being around people like me with similar interests and thoughts. For me, a good example is the Renaissance Faire. I could be with people like that all day…mostly lol
to me this just comes natural. i prefer being alone. i dont like texting people. its a blessing cause i see how some people are so desperate for attention or friends
Being alone most of the time has truly enlightened me to all the fake things and people around me I think am a much richer person for it
Loneliness is often the byproduct of a gifted mind.

I find peace being alone , at 60 years of age I've lived a very interesting life ( been there done that and own that) the simple life is very calming.

We're similar ❤
Solitude has taught me so much, and I do get asked alot, why don't you ever feel lonely? But I never have felt that way, it's taught me to master my own emotions and not to think too far ahead and not too far back, it's given me great mental strength, which sadly is how I lost my brother 13 years ago, he had great physical strength but no mental strength, I found a healthy medium, I miss him but haven't grieved like others around me who have completely debilitated there lives, which I feel great empathy for, but he would not like me or others around me that love him to be consumed with soul stopping sadness, for me it would not honour his memory to think that way, but I respect how those around me wish to grieve, the only thing I can put it down to is my mental resolve from solitude, and I know not everyone can do it, thankyou for this video you've made me reflect on my thinking and the thinking of others around me
Be not afraid of solitude but embrace the strength of yourself and resist corruption in this world

I was just talking to my friend about something similar to this and I run into this video on my youtube feed. That timing is Incredible. Fantastic work.

"you are always alone, with your opinions, with your habits and with your taste for life"
Nothing has changed, while everything is different. The way Myamoto saw the world will always transcend time.
If you are lonely even though there are many people around then its called hardwork/dedication. That's how i spent almost my entire life in hostel and I'll be going back again.
I really love the fact that you emphasize stuff in known memory enhancing styles like rhyming and the calm voice and still having emphasis along with the calm background, as well as giving multiple meanings to the dokkodo. I love that honestly and I prey your doing well in your world as well as others

When i got diagnosed we ith m.s. at 23, i found myself on a one man journey, to find myself and what was the true definition of "Myself " . I have spent many years in solitude. The Dokkodo is absolutely correct and beautiful. Then, when one connects with others, your wisdom will show itself to be of great value. Thanks for the video. Refreshing to hear it said out loud, even if the sounds of silence are lovely. Everyone go take a hike.

Two shipwrecked, one male and the other female arrived on a tinny, tinny deserted island with a single coconut tree.

Thank you for this wonderfully made video. Its educational, uplifting, and most certainly helpful!

I must say this is the one video I really needed to watch and study.
I'm alone but not lonely. I need my solitude to stay mentally healthy and focused.
It’s crazy cause I went from the party like from 18-24 every weekend going out with friends and partying now I love just staying home and being myself it’s different but I love it
