I bought a leftover 2014 Dark Red Metallic in May for an amazing price, $10,372 out the door. It is a great bike and there's a lot to like about it. It's rock stable at high speeds on the highway but handles like a sport bike as well. You can cruise on it all day or a touring trip but also treat it like a hooligan bike as well. I get about 50 MPG with when I ride highway and with a 6.1 gallon tank you can definitely go the distance. It's looks are subject to opinion but it's still a great bike.
captainengland Yeah, bargain for sure. I couldn't pass it up and it had a lot of things I wanted in a cruiser. ABS would be nice but not having it wasn't a deal breaker.
Great vid! This is the video that made me pull the trigger on my 2014 Valkyrie. For everyone throwing out the VMAX and the Rocket III, you’re missing the point. This bike is a stripped down Goldwing that is still a very powerful cruiser and much more comfortable to ride than the other two. It is way more nimble due to the low center of gravity from the flat 6 and the engine is bulletproof reliable. IMO they didn’t sell well when new because they were way overpriced from the factory for a stripped down muscle cruiser. The only negative in buying a used one now is that because they weren’t hot sellers, there is barely any aftermarket support. That said, I bought one with a heated Corbin two up seat, Corbin hard bags and I can take this on a multi day trip and be super comfortable. Plus, when you show up at a rally, you’re likely going to be the only one with one and most riders have never even seen one in person. Buy one and you’ll love it.
Sean, take the Valkyrie and you can pull the grom on a trailer behind the Valk like the Goldwings pull the trailers. That motor will pull a car. In the UK they have Goldwings as towing vehicles.
For those that learned absolutely nothing about this bike. It’s a 1832 flat 6 that makes 117 hp and 123 lb tq and weighs 150 pounds less than a Gold Wing.
Dude, you're selling me on the Valkyrie and I've only been thinking of getting a smaller 400cc to downgrade from my 650cc. I want two now. Actually three, small, med and Valkyrie

I've got two stripped down GL1100 Goldwings. The oldest is 1980 with over 200k miles. It's the daily beater. Just for the hell of it, I've raced a couple of sport bikes with it. A cbr600 with an overbore kit, and a cbr1000 stock. Apparently they weren't ready when the light turned green, even though I told them I was going to get on it. The 600 couldn't get by me until my upshift at about 85 mph. The 1000 got by me at about 70 mph. The Harley guys watching appeared to be amused. I bought a 2014 with 3400 miles for $8000. Considering the bike had an MSRP of 18 grand I think I did all right. The low speed handling sucks. Once you gain some speed it’s OK. The engine is silky smooth and feels like a turbine. The fit and finish and overall quality is excellent, typical Honda. The flat six engine is legendary. With proper maintenance 100,000 miles is nothing for these motors…
How does this compare with a FJR1309es in terms of performance? Are they similar? I am looking at a crusier second bike and was wondering if it is going to be very similar to the FJR I have.
Hey sandeep, I own both a '14 valkyrie and '04 FJR. They are similar in performance but the FJR is faster. The valk has the torque but once you are out of first gear the fjr will walk away from it. Valk has a governed top speed of 127, FJR is 150+. But don't get me wrong...the valk is still plenty fast. Foot positioning on the valk is 1" forward and 1" higher than the goldwing - so that is also something to consider. A lot of features that are standard on the Wing did not get moved over to the Valkyrie, it does not have reverse, cruise, or interlocking brakes. The only storage it has in stock form is a small box behind the side cover, maybe 2-3L in size.
@@Serjical23 thanks. I think I am going to maybe go ahead with a VTX1800 or something like a second cruiser then. That is helpful information and making my decision making easier. Matbe even a Vulcan nomad or something is good. I need storage.
So I finished my MSF course and bought a 1100 Shadow, but turned out it wasn't enough bike for the freeways around here in rural Texas, so I sold it like a week later. So I probably have 5 hours of seat time since the MSF course on a motorcycle and I am upgrading to a 2014 Valkyrie... Am I going to die? =D
I hope you are OK. My first 10 days of riding after the MSF Basic Rider Course , I rode like a maniac. Interstate , max traffic with frequent lane swaps, and canyon carving on my Suzuki M50. Came very close to crossing the center line into a pickup truck while canyon carving . I resolved to calm down , stay off the interstate and out of the canyons for at least one month while building experience . Five months later , still alive and skills greatly improved . I also took the MSF Advanced Rider Course in August of 2022. My M50 is almost a bicycle to me at this point . But it's really uncomfortable above 70 mph/114 kph.
@@amerigo88 Lol, this was a while back and I am fine. For reference your M50 is about 600lbs and 52hp, and the 2014 Valk is about 750lbs and 118hp, although mine is probably more like ~800lbs with all my bags and accessories. The Valkyrie is actually pretty capable for a "cruiser". It probably has about a 40-45 degree max lean angle, plus I have upgraded the front suspension, the rear spring, and raised the gearing. Since I posted this I have spent a lot of time at low speed drills, practicing leaning the bike and my body, hit 120mph several times passing people on those little 2 lane Texas highways, did a 16 hour round trip ride where I was probably averaging REALLY close to 100mph last winter, and a LOT of 4 hour round trip rides. Cruising at 100mph on a 4 hour round trip ride sitting straight up like you are in a dinner chair with no windscreen is a hell of an ab workout. I do wish the bike was faster on the top end for those times you need to pass people quickly. I keep going back and forth between some combo of adding a 50-75 wet nitrous kit, a turbo, having my cams reground for some more overlap and swapping out my stock ECU for a megasquirt, or just saying screw it and buying a ZX14R. Tough choices.
yea you shouldn't be riding bud, i would start suggest that you start saving your money for the balls removal surgery. Also make sure you buy yourself a KIA Soul for next car.

Isnt this pretty much a goldwing with everything removed?
Frank Last yes
Sporter...... Yes
Few yrs ago I was in a Honda store, looking right at one, my wife didn't need to know anything about it, one look and she said "NO"
Your wife picks out your bikes for you?
yea you shouldn't be riding bud, i would start suggest that you start saving your money for the balls removal surgery. Also make sure you buy yourself a KIA Soul for next car.
Before you know it your wife will be booking your next family vacation to the BBC resort
So, when did your wife schedule your vasectomy?
That's sick!
This bike is insane, and looks like a rocket ship.
The new Honda Rebel 110 is around 10hp shy of this thing, and weights just over half as much. It would smoke the Valkyrie.
this is insane .....awesome
wait is there a difference between this and the rune ?
🎶 prepared for life✌🏻😏💚
How do I get that bike
I just saw a real nice low mileage rune for 12 thousand in Texas.
A pair of Gloves and a Jacket would be nice and good for you!!!
A Goldwing without the saddlebags. A Goldwing Tour without the saddlebags or seatback.
Big help thanks 😊
Pick these up for 7k used now. Not very many out there though.
