hi my dad had a TK 7 in 1957 the power unit went bad the thing is it was a month wage he had a good gov job
the met office had 400 workers in bracknell he was the only one with a reel to reel
and at school i was the only one with a reel to reel as well not dad's j sells i used to pick them at mono 4 tracks very like this deck
i do have alot of reel to reel now
there only about 20 in the uk with over 40 decks i know the tascam nanji man on first names
there's alot of sony akai decks it need of parts he was saying

hi there are alot of reel to reel tapes with out boxes i moved all the tape over to 14 spools and sold all the reels of
note studio spare don't sell the white boxes any more i had the last lot i wonder i know you can get them from the eu germany you have to order big numbers
and they are black i had some 11,5 inch ones from the eu all reel to reel cost big money now
why i gone over to betacam sp £1 for 40min there's so many tape out there now i just order as i used them up
the akai 1720 had bad rubber parts i did my mate deck it was doing the same

Thanks for subscribing much appreciated, yep parts still available but not many. The replacement tire is not original Grundig but it works perfectly thank God.

Hi. I've just been given my old grandparents one. It doesn't work at the moment apart from hum and that pinch wheel bit is missing. In play in just hums and nothing moves. Any chance of a video guide on what should do what us us poor people with one that isn't working and not sure of what does what. Thanks.

Here is an answer to your question on one of my videos on the size of the Grundig drive belts: Main Drive: 130mm x 2.5mm
Take Up Spool: 95mm x 2.5mm
Counter: 75mm x 1.7mm Probably drive belts have all snapped.

Good stuff! What type.brand of white grease are you using/prefer ?

I use white lithium grease, it’s excellent.
