Not a fun mech fact but a fun comp/con fact. I was looking for a dark mode theme and found the HORUS option, and it changes the main page into a chat room showing you what an in world HORUS chat node would look like!
I think dogmod and caligula are the mods there too, they're one discussing the lich iirc.
It's all simulated sadly but its really neat

Horus aesthetic stays winning honestly. Similar to how if you have a Horus license your sharecode or link gets corrupted characters in it.

There's also a bunch of them hornyposting about their mechs. Very fun theme.
Also: if you switch to HORUS theme and back to another, the chat keeps going, corrupting the output of your new terminal until you refresh the page. This is probably a bug but it's very funny.

There's no way to prove it, but I choose to believe that "Drink deep and descend" is a Twin Peaks reference: th-cam.com/video/9ShRdYm2ogE/w-d-xo.html
    It definitely shares the vibe

No mention of 11DragonKid? The first and most prolific Lancer lore person? though admittedly, the pure Text-to-speech format might annoy some, but It has some great moments, Their Lich video is just top notch.

No mention of him cause just admittedly I don't watch him. The only stuff I have seen is a couple of his build videos. I can see why he has done so well. Just not my taste.

So, funny thing about the Calendula. According to most sources, the first combat mechs were designed during the Hercynian crisis, with the "Worldkiller" Genghis Mk. 1 being the very first combat mech designed, around 4500-4560u. This makes the Calendula *really* confusing. First contact with the people that would become the Karrakin Trade Baronies was around 2800u. I don't really have a good explanation for this. What the hell Horus. Xenoglossia aren't clean of time fuckery either
Both the Iskander and Barborossa appear to imply that artificial gravity tech is pretty unstable to incredibly unstable. Notable uses outside of mechs are to prevent you from being smushed when you go from 0 to 0.9c while running away from combat, and also Los Voladores because they just have artificial gravity on their ships. They're cool like that
If the Napolean feels like some HORUS shit, remember that while HORUS might be a bit more out there with their paracausal technology, HA is the only company that has a bunch of NHPs in constant near-cascade (The Think Tank), just so they can learn how to break physics faster. They are probably at the forefront of paracausal research.
Small correction with the Enkidu and Genghis Mk1. Union were originally the ones who came up with them, back when Union was the Second Comittee. After the thirdcomm revolution, HA inherited the designs and were the ones to spin them into something less nightmarish

Barbarossa isn't a mech with a ship-scale railgun _slapped on,_ comrade. Barbarossa is a ship-scale railgun that had a mech _built around it._ Y'know, like how the A-10 is a rotary cannon with a plane built around it.

    • @glueboy

Lol good point. Should have caught that cause I find that even funnier. I can picture a Harrison Amory exec wistfully staring at on of their giant railguns and just thinking "God I wish you had legs" And having an epiphany.

Honestly, giving HORUS's seemingly purposeful anonymity and vagueness, I would be surprised if the following wasn't a regular occurrence:
HORUS Cell Leader: Ah! Prepare to die in RA's name!
Enemy: Wait, what? But we're going to kill you in RA's name!?
HORUS Cell Leader: Wait... WHAT?!? You guys are also with HORUS?!?!
    Enemy: ...You too?
HORUS Cell Leader: Well, this is awkward... Steve! Why didn't anyone find out these guys were also HORUS before we got ready to attack them???

Hydra can bisect you if you pilot it wrong (I heard about it and I think it was also in lore that fist test piloting of this thing sometimes ended with you getting torn apart when Hydra started to tear the drones off itself)

Ra speaks through what seems to be the inhabitants of Deimos (or things made to look like them), which would give credence to the idea of the Minotaur's descriptions (filled with multiple voices shown by the changing colours), being the words and voice(s?) of Ra.

Just an update cause new mechs,
Gilgamesh: most HA pilots look down on Gilgamesh pilots for piloting them because they aren't flashy enough which led to furious comanders proceedings to pilot them as a way to lead by example. But also let's face it, it's a mech that can strategically blow off an arm, replace it, then beat you to death with the arm it just ripped off.

@@glueboythe book is about a review of a documentary that doesn't exist, and it's about a family moving into a house that's bigger on the inside, it also features a Minotaur... And the minotaur is this strange entity that may or may not haunt a character called Johnny who finds the review
