Thank you for teaching so clearly. I’m a beginner of 81 years old and this kind of showing how to do it with warnings for the pit falls is exactly what I need.
"No runs, no drips, no errors", LOL. Mr. Pete, you are an American icon, IMO. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and yes, the color combinations are beautiful, TreeTop
Thank you sir! It's been a pleasure watching you build this. You should never apologize for your "detours" or changing your mind, it's what we love seeing. It's what makes you you!
A very nice series, indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed watching you work. The color combination looks great. I too, wish you had been my shop teacher, way back when. Of course now, you are! Thank you for all you do.
So many great memories come flooding back. I loved shop classes in high school and Jr. high and have always wanted to build a little steam engine like this. thank you for your online shop class! I'm looking forward to the next lessons!
Loved it! well done. Nice comment on the high school kids. Some experiences are learned the hard way. Broken taps and screws requires the appreciation gained from frustration. Best Matt
I love all your videos I have learned a lot as I have learned my little lathe. I've watched all nine parts and have had a lot of enjoyment. Thank you for everything you do and show sir.
Seconded. These are my favorite type of tubalcain videos. I have to laugh though, because it would cost me about $1,000 to build this as I'm sure I don't have a box of #2 screws and corresponding taps (tapered and bottoming!) lurking in my fastener/tool collection, etc. etc. ad nauseum. And so all of that would have to be ordered. But I suppose by the time I reach my 70's I'll have collected all of that.
It's always a pleasure watching your videos. thankyou for all the work you put into them as I know production of videos is very time consuming. A great build. Well done!
Enjoyed every moment watching you build this engine. Turned out to be a very smart example I must say. Your commentary and camera work are something special .Thank you very much for sharing you great talent. Very much appreciated.
Thank you Mr. Pete for another excellent series. I recently introduced a friend to the you tube machinist community and he particularly enjoyed your videos.
Thanks again, Me Pete, I always enjoy your projects and the other programs you do. We basically have the same values but maybe cause we are close to the same age. I just got back in to metal working and your videos have help a great deal. Keep up the great work.
I watched this series along with my daughter. We both enjoyed it to the point where I was asked when we could watch the next video in the series. We may even be inspired to build a simpler one ourselves.
I enjoyed this series very much. The engine turned out to be a beautiful and elegant little machine. Thanks for sharing your skills on TH-cam. There is so much useless junk on the internet your channel is truly an opportunity to expand the mind with some actual useful knowledge.
Thanks, enjoyed every minute of this series. And, just as you mentioned Briggs & Stratton in this part, the neighbor fired up the lawn mower for the first time this year, what a coincidence :-)
Lyle just finished watching this series . I have to say I sure wish I would of had you as a teacher in high school the things I could of learned and the time you could of saved me later in life . Thank you again Lyle great series
Awesome build! The Stewart engine looks fantastic. Great choice on the paint scheme. Cant wait to make one for myself. Thanks for all the wonderful videos. - Jacob S.
Thank you for these videos. I'll probably never build an engine like this (I don't have the tools nor even the space to put them in) but I enjoyed watching your build and listening to your interesting commentary.
I like it very much. I've always been fascinated these small engines and wanted one. I can remember as a small child, (I'm 70 yrs young) seeing them in toy stores and wanting one then. And on my bucket list is to someday build one or two... Thank you very much and please keep them coming,
First time I have commented on any thing. I really enjoyed watching you build the engine. You are a wealth of knowledge and you share it well. Thank you very much. John
Enjoy watching all your videos. We are about the same age (74 for me). I can't get use to all the junk that's made in China, both tooling and machines. Keep up the videos.
Loved watching you work. Learn a lot even at my old age (77). Also love all your old comments I haven't heard in years. How refreshing to see how much you still enjoy doing these projects, sure brightens my day. Best regards Don
Excellent! A delight for the mind and the heart of all craftsmen. A special note of appreciation for your advice on the employment of patience at key moments on quality machine works, particularly by use of the "Watch Paladin" technique. Priceless!
I think it's awesome! I like how it looks and really enjoyed watching you build one from castings. A very nice looking engine, indeed! Suggestion for future project is a boiler. Then run your generator with it!
Mrpete, Your comment about how the high school students didn't know how hard to turn the bolts and snapped them off sure took me back. At my first job at 16 years old I was given my very first task of bolting a valve cover back on a car engine. I proceeded to snap off 3 bolts in a row before the manager ran over and took the wrench away from me and sent me to pump gas instead. That's how I learned how hard NOT to turn bolts and how I learned not to use a big wrench on a little bolt. It didn't take completely though. I've snapped off a lot of bolts in the last 49 years! That's why I'm a software engineer instead now! hehe I love your teaching style Mr Tubalcain
Thanks for the entertaining transfer of knowledge Mr. Pete! Nice looking little engine! Now I'm thinking about how to make a little steam whistle for it...
Fun and educational, love the idea of making a little engine even more so making one that will do some work. Liked the slight image we saw of a little engine turning a dynamo of some kind in this last video. Thanks for the time and effort you put into sharing the love of this craft. Bob D
Yes I liked to watch all 9 parts. You explained all parts good. And video was not too long. I agree with you to not show repeated operations. Have a nice day and thanks a lot for your nice videos. 🇧🇻😉 And , I liked combination of brass, steel, green and black.
Great build thanks for all the videos you have taught me so much I couldnt get the math down till I wathed your gear making videos after that I made a set of gears thanks to you
Simply incredible, America needs to focus more on manufacturing and having teachers like you in high schools. I come from a vocational high school of some 800 odd students per grade and of the 800 I was one of 11 who was in the machine shop and not only did my professor teach me how to machine but also many life lessons and you just don't learn that in many classes.
Hi, just watch all 9 videos over a couple of days, couldn't wait to get back to the PC. I am now retired and thinking of getting into model making and this was an inspiration. Being from the UK I was taught in imperial measurements and have been converted to metric. It was great to hear all the old 'thous' conversions again. Thank you.
Thank you again Mr. Pete for these great videos. I am so hooked, I can hardly wait to see what has arrived overnight. I do believe I am going to buy the mini mill. There are parts on my project that need to be milled. My wife keeps telling me, please buy the mill and you wont be so tired and grumpy after hand filing those parts :-) . Ken, the really old guy in CA
Great series, which is no surprise from you! Bending aluminum, lol, when I was about 20 my fishing captain Dale Miller was making a Cat Head for the F/V Maranatha so we could use her shrimping, In the end instead of bending that springy aluminum he cut it into strips and welded them on individually.
Very interesting project. Enjoyed all 9 episodes.I always learn a little something I can use at some point. Liked the device to hold the small screws. Will use that idea for sure. Thanks so much for sharing your work and experience with us.
Excellent job mrpete. Loved this series so much so that some days I was disappointed when you didn't post a video on it! Lol. Keep up the good work. See you on the next one.
Very nice build and a great series. I'm 78 and have not built a small engine for quite a few years. Your series has prompted me to build the little PM Research model #3 engine. I'm not too old to have fun.

Thoroughly enjoyed all videos.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
Mr Pete, you really take me back to metal shop. Great videos! I watched all 225 minutes and loved every second.
Thanks--you are the only one that watched the whole thing lol
I am laid up in the house right now so I binged watched all nine parts. Loved every minute of it.
Turned out perfect! Now please start on another project, this is the best channel ever.
Thanks for watching.
I love all your videos I have learned a lot as I have learned my little lathe. I've watched all nine parts and have had a lot of enjoyment. Thank you for everything you do and show sir.

It was an interesting watch all nine parts. Looking forward to more of these builds. Thank you.

A classic from a class act!! Tubalcain Have lathe, will travel. Colors remind me of Ireland and the Dublin Express
Thanks for watching.

It's a good story you tell, I am so true. You have to break a few bolts and taps before you know your own strength
Outstanding MrPete, This project ranks up there with the larger engine you casted years ago. Thank you for the education!
Thanks for watching.
A great project! Very interesting. Thank you
Thanks for watching.
Mr Pete another great series very enjoyable to watch thanks again
Loved this series. We need more!

I didn't even build it but have a strong sense of satisfaction after watching your beautiful work through this series of vidoes! Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
Very interesting project. Enjoyed all 9 episodes.I always learn a little something I can use at some point. Liked the device to hold the small screws. Will use that idea for sure. Thanks so much for sharing your work and experience with us.
Thanks for watching.
PALLADIN! "Have gun will travel reads the card of the man" Richard Boone, That brings back a few memories of the old Black and White TV days.
Now that gave me a chuckle. I sure do remember Palladin, after all I am 79 and those were indeed the good ole days.
Thanks for watching!
Loved the series. Thanks for showing. M
Thanks for watching.
Nice little build! I enjoyed watching it.
I found this series very interesting and well presented, thank-you and keep up the great work.
Thanks for Watching.
Excellent job mrpete. Loved this series so much so that some days I was disappointed when you didn't post a video on it! Lol. Keep up the good work. See you on the next one.

Another great series, thanks Lyle. I have never seen that trick with the masking tape before so that's something for me to remember in future :)
Thanks for Watching.
This whole series was great, thanks.
Best shop teacher I ever had.
Thanks for watching.
Instructive and enjoyable. Thank you Sir.
Very nice build and a great series. I'm 78 and have not built a small engine for quite a few years. Your series has prompted me to build the little PM Research model #3 engine. I'm not too old to have fun.
Thanks for watching.--give it a try
Thanks for all the pointers. Great Videos.
