I am 62 years old, I've played guitar since I was 11, I've followed this genre of music forever, and it wasn't until about 3 months ago when I was watching Woodsongs Radio on tv and at the end they had Chris play their outtake with his name and the song he was playing, I'd never heard of him before and I actually jumped up and got on my computer and logged onto you tube and found him and his music, I have subsequently ordered 10 of his cd's with more to come, I watch him on here almost every day, the appreciation I have for his music style and lyrics revel John Prine, and I've been following John since 1977.....
Back in the late 90s I, along with a couple thousand others, stood in the rain on the riverfront in St. Louis and marveled for three hours at his brilliance. Years later, his songs, his persona never leave me.
When can you ever get a guitar lesson that teaches with foot stomping? It’s important! Thanks for sharing this mans music in his mastery ✨ inspires and uplifts me so much ✨catchy tunes and witty lyrics 💙
Very interesting and musically rewarding. I disagree with the previous comment concerning the interviews: I've discovered a great quantity of worthwhile music by artists previously unknown -- simply because I was pulled in by these interviews. Please keep them coming!
some years ago, I saw Bonnie Raitt play in Massachusetts, Richard Thompson was the opening act and later in the evening backed her up on guitar for a couple of songs. Bonnie commented that Chris Smither was out in the audience and probably hyperventilating because Richard Thompson had just played guitar on one of Chris's songs!
Chris Smither is my absolute favorite acoustic guitar playing singer-songwriter. Incredible. Global Treasure.

Andrew Daly 💍
He often wears something on his left wrist. I believe he has carpal tunnel syndrome or a similar problem.
It's a thumb support
