I’ve been watching both channels for quite some time. I don’t even ride a mountain bike. I ride a recumbent trike because I’m old and disabled. I love riding your mountain bikes vicariously through the camera. I get a really good vibe from you two.
"That went better than anyone could have dreamed" was a classic Syd line. Really have been missing these Syd and Macky videos. Otherwise..."PRETTY BIKE!".
8:00 good tip to prevent cross-threading: hold the piece in position and start by unscrewing it. You'll feel a click when the end of the thread aligns, then start screwing in.
You should do a video on your favorite accessories like helmet, water bottle, water bottle cage , gloves, and so on you like to use when you are racing. There are a lot of choices out there.
14:34 We're with ya, Syd. Seeing the head of the guide cable poke its head out of the port makes some of us sigh with relief knowing it passed two other cables successfully.
I put cable housings in segments and join them with dual sided ferrules. Makes dropper housing much easier to thread thru. Also allows you to adjust housing length without pulling the cable all the way through. Small price to pay for easier install without a second or third pair of hands.
Beside the colour, wich is just ok, I have to tell you Ms Syd and Mr Macky, that looks like like one heck of a XC frame!! And bike! And I'll definitelly be looking at Ari when I complete my set of bikes for all kinds of range of use! Because it looks amazing! I ride a Rockrider hard tail with a sid Ultimate Race day 120mm fork for XCO and I fell in love with Enduro so I just built a gorgeous Specialized Stumpjumper Evo 150/160mm and I'm now waiting for spacers for an Acros headset to begin the build of a Propain Tyee Cf 160/180mm but...I'l need a good 120/120mm bike for all that these 3 are "inadequate" for. And my heaviest bike will be the Stumpy with 13,57kgs. Without pedals! Lol! The Propain is completely full of carbon "to the teeth" so it will be lighter. And I was very encouraged by the final weight of your bike! Let me ask you this...Don't you miss good 4 piston brakes, even when racing XCO? I know that 2 piston XTR brakes are very good but, when it comes to breaking, for me, only the best! And I've noticed you use Shimano components but...a Sram G2 Ultimate set is only 444gr. Magura Trail Sl, 460gr...For me there's no replacement for very good brakes. Best wishes from Coimbra, Portugal! I'm a big fan of yours! Cheers!
Guy's with all you're tools you should have one of these, it makes pulling cables in to the frame so much easier! ( RockShox Barb Connector Reverb Stealth - Red)
Oomph. Truck tire expert taught me to stand tall, even lean away, with eye protection when airing up a tubeless tire. Seriously, even bike tires explode off the rim. Yes, infrequent, but risk of even a tiny piece causing trauma to the eye is a devastating outcome. And face injury is never nice. Big gap to an otherwise excellent vid.
Mid-season new bike day...nice....LOL you know inflation has hit hard, free code for wait for it.....tubeless upgrade(bikes are basically already tubeless stock). OMG. Surprised they didn't just have you send it back and they change the stickers haha
At some point, you've said that you adjust your tire pressure for temperature and elevation. Do you do that for your suspension as well? Also, have you ever considered running oval chainring?
If you aren't an octopus (which would be really useful) you can put a stool or something similar under the fork after you slide it through the head tube then lower the rack if you need to so that the fork is resting on it.
Nice bike. What is the mount you mention at 25:09, just after the GPS mount, that is under the bar by the stem. Couldn't make out what you said and I can't figure out what it is.
You can do either. Brand new Shimano brakes actually come with the olive in the lever so unless you want to fish it out, which is a pain, you just cut the line, install the barb and then press it into the lever, making sure you get it through the olive, then tighten it.
What’s a good technique to size your chain on your e-fat bike. 126 link is to large and 116 is to small. It’s been yrs since I changed the original chain and want to ask y’all. Thanks Dave Also, Another Great Video…
Depends on if it's 11 or 12 speed. For both, wrap the chain around the chainring and biggest cog (skip going through the derailleur) then add 2 links (11 speed) or 4 links (12 speed). Always go longer if it's between links.
@@sydfixesbikes Thanks for the Chain Info… It worked like a champ and I had to take 3 links off my 11 speed. Y’all Rock and keep living your MTB dream..🤙🤙🤙💥💥🚴🏻🚴🏻🚴🏻🚴🏻 Dave
@Incaensio it's 180° from the slit. That's what they show on the moveable 3D models on their website (aribikes.com/products/lasal scroll down to the "go ahead take it for a spin" section)
I know it's subjective, but I really wish Ari would get their rear triangles to not look so funky. I really want to like them, and I hear they are awesome to their customers, but the bikes are looking like a 2015 stump jumper blended with a praying mantis.

that bike looks so amazing great job
Syd going crazy with the headset jokes lol
Almost got one of these bikes, they must feel pretty plush for an xc bike with the pivots on the chain stay.
That looked like a lot of work, props to you! Almost 11 Kgs., that´s gonna run like a gazel on the sabana.

Wow , that's light. Class
I really like the green of your original Fezzari.
Syd has a great vocabulary, among her panoply of other satisfying skills.
Indubitably
Beautiful bike!!
Always amazed at how LITTLE tread there is on those Aspen tires, and yet you guys RIP on them!
I bet you could use heat-shrink housing to join the brake/derailleur runs to the plastic guide runs and then just pull it through.
Awesome build! Camo scheme would be cool!

Mackys knowledge is 💯
This Color is fantastic. Definetely would be my choice!
15:24 Scenarios like that are why I invested in a "third hand" tool (Park #BT-2) and I do not regret that money spent even the littlest bit.
I spy a Santa Fe Brewing stem cap!!! 😃
Thank you for the video. Looks sweet 👍

That's why truck tires that get inflated the first time are locked in a cage first.
I really like that color

Beautiful bike. Great vid.
I'm just looking at your intro from 3 years back. What a difference.
Are you still enjoying each other? You guys look sad
At some point, you've said that you adjust your tire pressure for temperature and elevation. Do you do that for your suspension as well? Also, have you ever considered running oval chainring?
amazing bike!!!
There are very few sounds that are as satisfying as the sound of a tubeless tire seating on the rim.
So true!
Can you make a video on a full Shimano brake fluid change? I saw the 5 min bleed.

Thanks. Love your dialogue, like my inner. Only better!
Innuendo overload in this one, I lost count!
Weather happened to the Niner brand?
Didnt see the Fezzari build....snd i looked for it.
Hey guys, do you have any tips for holding the fork in place during installation when you don’t have Macky there to hold it?
If you aren't an octopus (which would be really useful) you can put a stool or something similar under the fork after you slide it through the head tube then lower the rack if you need to so that the fork is resting on it.

What do you do with all the old frames?
What stem do you and macky use?!?! Trying to digure out a way to optimise race fit.
