    Well, I ordered the Zhiyun Crane Plus and will return it. Why? I realized too late (my fault) that for full function I would require a Panasonic or Sony camera. I need the control panel function of the Gimbal and this is simply not working with Fuji or Nikon (or Canon). Be aware of this before you buy. If you don't need the control panel then this is not an issue.

    Really fun and info-rich video. I've had the v2 for a few years and like it more than ever. I'm using a GH5 with Olympus 12-40mm Pro or 7-14mm Pro. That latter lens is maxing it out for me. Keep in mind because a gimbal has a listed payload of lbs/kgs, that doesn't mean you want to put that much weight onto it. It will NOT perform well when maxed out!
    And I haven't found a quick release plate and clamp thin enough to use while getting proper balance, so I mount the camera and lens directly to the gimbal. It's not convenient, but it works! I wish it did Time lapses, though. Best to you!

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Woo-hoo! What about the Crane Plus? It’s the same size as the Crane v2 and carries a heavy payload

    • @TechInspected
      @TechInspected 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The v2 was cheaper haha. Was initially looking at the Crane M but as most people say its very limited due to max payload allowance. The v2 here was only like 60$ more.
      Oh and also grabbed one of the remotes. I'll be using the crane remotely 50% of the time since I'm a one-man production and will use the remote as my cameraman. Thanks again!

    Hey, Sidney!
    You did a very nice comparison of the products, especially with the selfy mode shots. For a long time I want to test some of them, but I am not exactly sure which one do I actually need for my camera setup. I use Panasonic GH5 with mostly native lenses and I am planing to use it with Sigma 18-35 with metabones adapter. Which one do you think would serve better my needs, because I am really confused and those gimbals are not easy to find in my country?
    Also could you help me with some contacts to Zhiyun I could use for requesting a product for review?
    Greetings from Bulgaria! :)

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For gimbals, the lighter the setup the better. The Sigma 18-35 is pretty heavy, so the only gimbal to handle it is the Crane 2. Otherwise, the native lenses might be a better fit for you

    Hey Sidney, another great video. Two questions: First, if we're on a budget and only shoot with a small mirrorless camera, gopro and galaxy s8+, is the Zhiyun M-3 a pretty good option? Second, what is the music you used in this video for your footage montage? Thanks!

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I don’t think the M3 would be strong enough to hold a mirror less camera. I would go with at the very least the Crane v2. Ideally, the Crane Plus for your situation. You want strong motors to handle your gear

    Its 11pm, I’m still in my office waiting for a video to upload to ze cloud and this gave me a good chuckle. Sub earned! Thank you sir. As a 6d2 user, I’m thinking of going for the CranePlus over the Crane V2 just because I don’t like how close I’d be getting to that 1.8kg max. For me, the Crane2 is overkill - and I dont like the follow focus wheel because I’m left handed and its in the way. Plus, one more thing to go wrong / get damaged. Cheeeeeers

      Get the Crane 2! You'll find that the stronger motors will support your GH5 and whatever lens you attach with it. And yes, Crane 2 has POV mode and object tracking mode.

    Hey great video! I was wondering if you knew anything about the Crane 2 having the features that the Crane Plus has?? (Particularly the POV mode and the Nightlapse mode) because the crane 2 looks like the better option for myself as it's able to hold a heavyer payload ect (I'm a Canon user and my main cameras are the 5D Mark IV and the 1D X Mark II). But those features on the Crane Plus are awesome and It'd be great if they are on the Crane 2! So are they? is there a way to recreate them if they aren't?

    i got the crane 2 a few weeks ago.. unfortunately i figured out that my camera setup is maybe too light for the gimbal (using a sony 6300 with a 35mm or 16-55mm most of the time).. do you think a quick release plate could solve my problem or should I sell the crane 2 and buy the v2 instead? thank you for your help!

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to change the motor strength setting to “Light” in the menu. Hopefully that should help. If not, then yeah adding more weight to the camera like a quick release plate or mic would work. Honestly, I would get the Zhiyun Weebill S instead if you can sell the Crane 2

    So i should go for the v2 with my small dslr Canon SL2/200D then right?
    My setup with the cam, røde stereo mic and canon 10-18 wide angle lens weighs 900g/1.9pounds.
    Got no interest of getting a bigger cam in a few years =)
    Never had a gimbal before...
    Found a few used for around 410-430$
    Love the video, keep up the good work

      That might be pushing it for the v2. I would go for the Crane Plus.

    Based on this video, it really seems like the Crane 2 is the best one. I shoot with a GH3 (I've had it for a long time) and when I'm ready to get a new camera I'll probably get a Sony. Seems like the V2 can handle all that...but I feel like it may be worth it to spend the extra money on the Crane 2, especially since at work I'm shooting with 5D's. Do you agree?
