The scariest part of this whole situation to me is that people who want to keep the country shut down, are taking some "moral high ground" because you "can't put a price on human life." Yes, human life is sacred. That's why the economy, the country, and the world need to reopen. Not only are millions upon millions of people out of work, but these people aren't able to pay bills or buy necessities. Further more, without workers working, the necessities that we need on a daily basis are not being produced. The UN released a statement that upwards of 130 million people could be on the brink of starvation if the world economy does not reopen. To put that in perspective, if somehow the ENTIRE WORLD was simultaneously infected with coronavirus and 1% of people died (Which is a very high estimate. It's most likely somewhere around .5%), that would be less than 60% of the people that could potentially face immediate starvation. The moral high ground, the scientific high ground, the economic high ground, and the common sense high ground, all lay with reopening the country and the world. We had our little scare, now let's get back to reality.

The scariest part of this whole situation to me is that people who want to keep the country shut down, are taking some "moral high ground" because you "can't put a price on human life." Yes, human life is sacred. That's why the economy, the country, and the world need to reopen. Not only are millions upon millions of people out of work, but these people aren't able to pay bills or buy necessities. Further more, without workers working, the necessities that we need on a daily basis are not being produced. The UN released a statement that upwards of 130 million people could be on the brink of starvation if the world economy does not reopen. To put that in perspective, if somehow the ENTIRE WORLD was simultaneously infected with coronavirus and 1% of people died (Which is a very high estimate. It's most likely somewhere around .5%), that would be less than 60% of the people that could potentially face immediate starvation. The moral high ground, the scientific high ground, the economic high ground, and the common sense high ground, all lay with reopening the country and the world. We had our little scare, now let's get back to reality.
