Jimmy Page is the daddy!! I know there are better technical guitar players out there, but for riff writing, song writing, blues, acoustic, folk, mellow, hard rocking, stage prescence, producing, finger picking, mystery and for just down right spine tingling brilliance, no one is better that Page. He has that complete, 100%, sold his mysterious soul to the devil, 100 % rock star!!! Thats what I want my rock heroes to be like!!
Everything about this performance is fucking killer. The vocals are damn near perfect, jimmy ripping an LP, and the drummer, holy shit the drummer. Man is beating the living hell out of that kit just like he should
I usually hate covers of my favorite bands' songs, even with one of the founding members because it rarely sounds right but with Jimmy playing with them, Gorman coming about as close to Bonham's playing as you can get and Chris's vocals I love it.
Being a child of the 70s, you can't get any better than Zepp. Then came the Black Crowes and a mixture of Jimmy Page ( with them) was a totally awesome remake of a great song. I'm quite impressed.
The Crowes in those days were the best Live band around, this gigs with Page are historical as they combine the powerfull crowes sound with the Led riffs by page and Chris's great voice at times so close to Plant, it is amazing music, for yet another generation.
IMHO this is the perfect backing band to play with Jimmy Page and do some real justice to brilliant LZ studio songs that had so many guitar tracks PLUS I can't think of anyone else that could pull off the Robert Plant "vibe" better than Chris Robinson. This was an epic event and the recordings spell that out. If someone has a BETTER live recording of LZ songs, I'd love to be enlightened. I think this is better than any live LZ recording I've heard including the newly released "Celebration Day".
It's so great listening to Jimmy when he's sober and not stoned like he is here - the best. Chris Robinson does a good job but you can't help but missing Planty.
Here's how I think of this collaboration. Pretty much any band on the planet is going to answer the phone when Jimmy Page calls. The next thing they're going to do is drop whatever plans they had to go jam for however long Mr. Page wants. With that in mind I'm not surprised he called the Crowes. I'm sure there aren't many bands out there that could pull it off. The Black Crowes are just that good.
I've never heard Chris Robinson sound better. his brother is doing fine guitar work too. these guys really should've done 20 years of this quality. I wonder why not. Their first record was great.
Thanks for sharing but I'm old school - Led Zeppelin 1977 night #2 Cincinnati. The greatest concert I ever saw!! This drummer missed several triple kicks on the bass drum which Bonham did with one pedal. Thanks for the effort though - music is still the nector of the gods. Hope all is well - Hoc
The Crowes always remind me of early Humble Pie, which is the reason I got interested in them. Having said that, it's a pity Steve Marriot is not around anymore to do a similar series of old Pie numbers with them like Jimmy here. They'de make a great job of Red Light Momma Red Hot, I'm certain. This version of "What is", by the way, is effing awesome. Zep's best days brought back to life with full record instrumentation.
almost sounds like a Crowes song lol. i love the black crowes and i LOVE Led Zep. my god the amount of great music they made, song after song after song....brilliance.
i don't know who these guys are , but one thing is sure after seeing all their stuff with page, these are the best guys who did zeppelin cover with pagey :)
@@KCNYC then why are you here with that smart ass comment. it amazes me the dicks that always say something about Zepp. most musicians would love Zepp to record some of their music. then it would be worth listening to.
Unbelievable cover. Better than Zep could possibly pull live. three guitars cover all of Page's overdubs on the studio version. Robinson sings his azz OFF and their drummer is fcukin' AWESOME.
Exactly. Always waiting for Plant to come around. He's been doing that since they disbanded after Bonzo died. But Plant is on his own journey. O2 was it for now and ever. And that's enough for me for a farewell.
For a bootleg this has great sound and the camera isn't all over the place. Just came across this, is it 1999? Anyhoo Chris is no Robert Plant but this is some serious face crunching kick-ass stuff....
This is obviously a "doctored" live recording. Notice at 0:38- ("And you will be mine" etc). that Rich isn't singing the harmony. But still it is heard clear as a bell. But I don't mind. It's still a great performance!
Thanks for supporting my music ❤️I'm so grateful and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that's ok by you.
They call me "The Black Dude at work who loves Zeppelin." Trust me...there are a lot of rock artist who can sound like Robert Plant. Chris Robinson done a good gotdam on all of Zeps covers. This is the only time I ever listen to the The Black Crows.
Hey, Listen... I am a HUGE fan of Led Zeppelin... I mean Wow... They are the very best in the world.. I love Robert Plants voice... I love everything about Led Zeppelin. But I gotta say.... The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson does a mighty fine job of singing their stuff... God damn his voice is uncannily similar. If he really tried to sing every little nuance in the songs, I'd have an awfully hard time telling it wasn't Robert Plant. Heh... Bizarre....
Thanks for supporting my music ❤️I'm so grateful and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that's ok by you.
can somebody tell me where can i get "your time is gonna come" from this show, coz what did jimmy in this song is sick, but i lost the track, if somebody could post it, that would be awsome
this is bad ass !!!!!!! posted november 2007...and i'm just now finding it ??? i'm a little disappointed with myself for that !!
Man I miss real rock & roll music! People playing instruments together with passion & skill! Bless Lord Jesus & Rock & Roll music!

Gorman is a beast 😱
I usually hate covers of my favorite bands' songs, even with one of the founding members because it rarely sounds right but with Jimmy playing with them, Gorman coming about as close to Bonham's playing as you can get and Chris's vocals I love it.
I hate covers of my favorite bands too, and let me let you in on a secret, the bands hate most of them too.
listening to J.P. during his slide at the 2-minute mark still sends a chill down the spine. and that is after hundreds and hundreds of listens
Black Crowes are very respectable, I'm glad that Jimmy Paige recognizes true modern talent and opens himself up to it. This is a great cover.
Great decision on Jimmy's part for sure!
all these jimmy page and black crow vidoes are excellent quality and performances, they are really great to see.and yes the drummer is AMAZING!
Howard Barnet gorman is the man
Just watched this again tonight incredible
One of the best live albums ever,This is for the real fans who know:GREAT,f .... Great,Thanks
Chris Robinson can sing man!
GOOD. AS. IT. GETS !!!!

Thanks for the love and support it’s nice seeing you here
Dude is rippin with Jimmy

The Crowes were ON....Jimmy elevated all of them.
Absolutely amazing, best idea for a concert tour ever! They sound so dead on to the original spirit of the music. What an amazing band.

Best Led Zeppelin live in a long time!
amazing. Saw LZ many times back in the day when this stuff was new. But damn...these guys really get it.
wow that just blew me away thanks for posting

Chris Robinson does a good job but you can't help but missing Planty.

Those rascals jammed that rock and roll ditty. Commence!
dang!
thats the best version ever!!!!!
You get a lot of Boy Band Fans on youtube. They might view it just so they can say it sucks. Best Concert I have ever seen!!
This was a spectacular performance... Thanks for putting it up!!!
wow this is incredible and the sound is so good
thanks man
The Chris Robinson swagger and fantastic band 😍🤩
Why do I love this? Page;s slide or brother's harmoney vocals? BROTHERS!
imagine the rush they must have... playing with a great like Page on stage... that has got to be teh moment to last through several lifetimes...
F I N A L L Y !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting!!!!
(been waiting a long time for this one!)
Jimmy still hangs out in front of the bass drum a lot 😊
They have one badass drummer with them
I've never heard Chris Robinson sound better. his brother is doing fine guitar work too. these guys really should've done 20 years of this quality. I wonder why not. Their first record was great.
It's a beautiful thing...What talent & dedication can produce.
Damn, jimmy rocks always
absolutley bloody brilliant

sweet rhythm playing from page
Nobody can do Led Zeppelin like The Black Crowes. True to the spirit without trying to merely replicate
I was there, it was amazing!
amazing sound on this video
That was fucking AWESOME !!!
I think Jimmy played better here than on the "official" release that was on the radio back in the day.
this collaberation is incredible hq sound this is the best cover ive ever heard of course having jimmy on board helps obviously
This is Mind Blowing !!
I want a celebration day with these guys...
That was a GREAT concert thanks for th e post
this cover is pristine.
+Smarty 771 Of course it is! Pagey himself is playing the leads!
man, fantastic!
this is an amazing version

Chris does an excellent job
I am soaking live4khaos, this sure beats working. Like the reference bro
Wowzers
Oh yeah. ..fucking AWESOME man
This is as close to bonham and page as it could ever get after 1980
Enorme
Big Time Respect to The Black Crowes! Jimmy should've made them his "band".
i don't know who these guys are , but one thing is sure after seeing all their stuff with page, these are the best guys who did zeppelin cover with pagey :)
Che forza Ragazzi
Totally awesome this song is hands-down better than Zep's version . Pure Magic.:)
'Gorgeousness and gorgeosity.'
Nobody, Nobody can be Zep, but this live at the Greek album is the closest thing you'll EVER find!!!✌️
love the stereo on jp's guitar at 3:41
That is a cool rhythm he added to the verses...give's it a nice signature different from the original.
I never knew the Black Crowes was such a fine cover band
DD52 fine band in general
Zeppelin is my favorite cover band
@@KCNYC then why are you here with that smart ass comment. it amazes me the dicks that always say something about Zepp. most musicians would love Zepp to record some of their music. then it would be worth listening to.
Their first hit was a cover.

Unfuckingbelievable

Led Zeppelin best band ever. Black Crowes do a respectable backing for Jimmy.
Page's reason to keep the blood flowing.
Exactly.
Always waiting for Plant to come around.
He's been doing that since they disbanded after Bonzo died.
But Plant is on his own journey.

Bonham was not only his band mate but he was his close friend. He just doesn't feel it's right. Plus he's always stated he has a fear of them sucking.
cant call this a cover since Jimmy is there , but....amazing cover

esse show zaço deveria estar no ROC'N RIO ...
Best zep performance period
4:27 Pagey....F yea!!!!
@downeybill have you seen the crowes live? they have done 20 years of this quality live work
This is obviously a "doctored" live recording. Notice at 0:38- ("And you will be mine" etc). that Rich isn't singing the harmony. But still it is heard clear as a bell. But I don't mind. It's still a great performance!
The Crowes were probably doing stuff like this in gin joints when they were first starting out. How cool to be doing it with Jimmy Page?
:) kiss the wind nice......thoughts ... I LOve this

this just seems like the most perfect zep song for the crowes to do. 6 stars

If Led Zeppelin was the "New Yardbirds", Page and the Black Crowes should have been the "New Led Zeppelin". They were made for each other.
