I worked with the Attwater's program for many years, breeding the birds for release. While I have moved on to other species in need, I am and will always be so proud of this work. I am also so THANKFUL for families like this one that can see the value in preserving the species and how it also benefits their land.
This is truly wonderful!! I'm from the prairies(Nebraska)and anything that is done to restore this once pristine and vital econsystem brings great joy to my heart!!
As a native Texan, I'm thrilled to see this work going on with land owners in cooperation with conservationists. I hope to add the Attwater's Prairie Chicken to my wildlife photography portfolio someday, and I hope that they continue to increase in number.
Not mentioned here: the Nature Conference directly contributed to habitat loss by drilling for oil in one of the few places these birds live. Despicable.
