I have a 72 super, and I have all of my parts for my 2332 motor and am just waiting for the right time to swap out the 1600 and do a few other upgrades in the engine compartment.
You are a man after my heart. You not only are into cool air cooled VWs like I am, but you have a couple of Volvo 240s sitting in the yard. I have one of those too. I love those Volvos.
Those acceleration sounds brought back some good memories. Makes me want to dig out the old '65 and get her back on the road. She's got a pumped up 1915 that could pull the front wheels off the ground if not for her being slammed. Had to install poly mounts and a transmission strap because of all the torque. Damn near ripped the transmission from the chassis.Good times for sure.
I think you need to raise the back up and lower the front some more but I see how your driveways are with gravel and weed that's not cool I think the next thing you need to do is asphalt the driveway all the way to the house up to the garage

I had a 64 Beetle in 69 and had the motor up to 1453 cc. I loved that little car.

It sounds just like my "warm" 1600 sp straight cut gear and all, until you put your foot on it, then it sounds like a fighter jet!!

I had a beetle when I was 16, it was a pleasure to drive, but I never really figured out the heating controls. lol Great work of art!
Had also a Beetle when I was 18. Was Fun to drive inte winter, but the heating was terrible and the fogged windows . haha

Would have been nice for us Motörhead types to see the motor.
