Great video, I’ll be doing this to the Planet X Mors when I’ve finished my current project. Picked up some great tips and ideas for when it’s comes to stripping my figure.
I just started watching you channel. All great. Have you thought about filling the gaps with aluminum foil and THEN cover the foil with putty? That way you can save on the putty. That's what I do.
@@HobbieswithJose I got tired of using LOTS of putty to fill LARGE gaps in figures. I ball up the foil nice and tight to fill the gaps and then glue them in place. Then putty the rest. So far, so good.
@@HobbieswithJose Yeah, I tried it with the Titans Return Optimus Prime and the Studio Series DOTM Megatron. I probably would have done to fill the feet of the Studio Series Grimlock.
Great video as always I'm a customizer as well but I have someof the worst luck with clear plastic. I was going to make a netflix hound into Iron fist but when I went to strip his paint with isp his windshield shattered and his ball joint snapped what am I doing wrong?
I really feel you there, working with clear parts is a pain! What percentage isp are you working with? How long do you leave the parts in there? With the paint stripper mix I work with, I leave the parts in there about an hour. That’s still a risk for clear parts though which is why sometimes I don’t bother stripping those and just painting right over them, like I did with Soundwave’s chest piece. I wish you the best of luck and thanks for watching! 👍🏼
70 percent isp but I don't use thinner last time I did on an ss blitzwing it shattered too bits although that was testors brush thinner. Although it's doesn't strip as quickly but maybe I left em in there too long. I've seen other customizer leave the parts in over night. Also on that hound figure the clear plastic is molded in I couldn't figure how to remove it.
Yeah, some clear plastics are impossible to remove, especially if they’re glued in place. It does sound like you’re having more trouble than most since I’m using a higher percentage isp and thinner. Perhaps instead you can brush the paint off with a toothbrush dipped in the alcohol or stripping solution. May give you better control overall.
Sometimes, depending on how complex of a figure it is. Usually though I get so acquainted with it during the month+ when I'm working with it that I just remember, lol.
Ahhhh!! My favorite Decepticon💙
Wooo! I’m finding out he’s A LOT people’s fave, which I can’t argue with, lol. Thanks for watching dude! 😁👍🏼
He's not fan favorite he's superior (get it?)

REALLY?! I’ve never heard of this method before but sounds interesting! How sturdy is that? I may have to give it a shot, thanks for the tip! 👍🏼

I love seeing all of the individual parts! Do you use the footage of taking figures apart to help when re-assembling them?

@@HobbieswithJose Nice!
