Plukky that was a huge risk you took. This is coming from someone that is an advanced diver. Have a buddy next time. Never alone. Keeping you in my prayers. God has a plan for you.
^ this, I would upvote more than once if possible. Just so many things wrong with the decisions here. Lumping 5-6 risk factors into the same pot is incredibly dangerous. Shallow water blackout alone makes free diving dangerous. I was a college swimmer, a military frogman and a long time free diver. Diving alone, free diving, cave diving, night diving and diving with aggressive predators like bull sharks and crocodiles is a recipe for disaster. Anyone of them can kill you, all bundled up together introduces the chance for you to have multiple simultaneous deadly situations to deal with. It's obvious because the video is posted that he doesn't die but the entire time he was underwater I was thinking eventually this story ends with some other diver finding some underwater camera gear and some chewed up neoprene washing up on the beach.
A year from now the world and your world will be a totally different place. Time fly's and I hope that joy comes your way. Everything is for a reason even your heart ache. This to shall pass and there are thousands of us that want you to be happy, we sincerely care for you. Thanks Plucky
We enjoy your videos Plucky & would like many more of them please, which means kindly stay alive. Night diving, cave diving, solo diving, remote diving, sharks, crocs any one thing is dangerous enough. It might be a tough time, but alive is definitely the best option
Hey Peter. I like you so don't do that shit. I have been a commercial diver for 20 years and an instructor for 15 years before that and have done some dumb things over that 35 years. Only luck I'm still here and looks like only luck you are too. Stay safe Peter, it's better than being dead.
Plukky, It is hard to comment on this video. It was scary. I learn a lot from you. You seem like a decent fellow. It would be nice to keep you around for a while. Margarida departing is an unfortunate loss. I totally get the being in the water exploring and exhausting yourself to cope. Hang in there. Keep adding good memories. Health and peace, Sockeye
I have enjoyed following you on and off since before you grounded the Cat in WA. It has been interesting and educational to hear you explain about weather and wildlife. I'm going to miss it because I expect if you keep up this suicidal behaviour, there will no post from you this Friday, or ever again, because you will be dead. As a man old enough to be your Grandfather, who has been through breakups with near fatal outcomes, you do get over it and you do come out wiser and a better person for it, even if the scars stay with you for the rest of your, hopefully, long life.
Dude. I love following your passages. The eye candy was good, but not the reason i subscribed. I definitely don't want any other vids documenting this reckless behavior. I can sense your pain, but time heals all wounds, keep on living and try looking forward. There are hundreds of comments here of people love you and want you to stay safe.....and alive
Mate, the urge to do anything to make yourself feel alive when your heart has died is completely understandable. I totally get you. You're a clever, 'plucky' bloke. Please do your best to stay alive until you can heal. I'm wishing you the best.
You wont find what you're looking for down there, Peter. Glad you survived. You still have a ways to go with the whole, learning to love yourself mantra, keep evolving and try to be a bit more careful.
Seems to me, you're living your name's sake you are indeed "Sailing Free" you've found freedom. It's your choice you're free to do whatever you want!!!! enjoy!!
My second cousin passed away in Florida caves and I think it sets a bad example to others to go it alone without buddy system so please be more careful as your a important person to those watching your Vlog and the kids will ignore the "don't watch" warning like I did! Lol! Seriously though you R the Man! Thank you for sharing!
I've got an idea. I hear you're going to Panama. Maybe you'd like to have a change of pace by helping people Transit the Panama Canal, back-and-forth, until you find some people that you would like to spend more time with. Maybe sail to Tahiti with them or the Galapagos. Or flip the other way and go on a giant powerboat into the Caribbean. If I had a boat down around those parts and needed some help with it, you you would be the crew that I would be blessed to have. I enjoy everything you do.
Reading through the comments so I won't repeat what has already been said. Glad you made it through it. It would have been just as cool, and a lot safer, had you just done a night dive and filmed under some ledges. Hang in there, Plucky. There's at least 105,000 people wishing you the best.
You are a strong person and smart ..heartbreaks are hard been there but as years goes by i realized they are a situation where we learn a lot from it….Well get to healing, hang in there..
Get that boat sailing on to new adventures and good times mate , the world is your oyster one door closes another one opens forget the nightime forays, fair winds and following seas
I didn't watch, but went to the comments. Appreciate the warning. So damn glad you're ok. Please take care of yourself. I'm addicted to you... your videos, your humor, your life-style, your knowledge, & your accent. You gotta keep feeding my addiction!
I would suggest you don't do this type of thing in the future...we'd really hate to lose you, man! Maybe that mantis shrimp you filmed at the beginning should have given you a thump on the noggin? ;)
Hey Plucky! Please stop taking these unnecessary risks! It is really important to connect with family, friends or even the well-being websites to talk with professionals. I’d like you to stay around and I know every subscriber wants you around as well. Hang in there mate and don’t be too proud (or stubborn) to ask for help when you’re hurting. Cheers!
Plukky has broken up whit his love and of course he thinks its his fault. Plukky dosen't realize learning is painful and god intended it to be that way for a reason to put it to good use. I'm afraid Plukky is using it for bad use oh-well he's trying.
Years ago Rosie and I dove in a cave in Mexico. Pretty cool stuff. We are in our seventies now so I wouldn't have any luck talking her into that again. We enjoyed scuba diving back then too! Stay safe and healthy Peter. Burlington Bill here of the songs 66 Mustang and Sailing to Freedom on my you tube site.
Something like that would be nice if you had a few glow sticks that would be able to get you back to air. But also tying a rope to the beginning of the dive and to you would be a great way to make it out easier. Very risky though. Especially in crocodile territory at night. Be safe Man
Not gonna comment on the dive except to say we've all had a couple of mad moments after a split. This is just Plucky's method. He might look at ours and think we are just as insane. Great videos mate and perhaps civilization will help in the short term :)
Awesome! May I suggest a life line/string to pull with you. That way you can follow it back out. If you run across a croc you'll have some to tie his mouth shut.
My palms are sweating even though you obviously made it. People have died in similar situations with a tank in their back....usually getting stuck in a wreck and silting things up in the dark.
I've done several night dives but mostly with tanks. I like it better in the day time where I can see best. It might have been better if you took your dinghy to the location before it got dark. It's all a learning experience when you go because of the conditions, buoyancy and equipment. It seems to change a little every time you go out. The lighting equipment I used was old school because I last did it in the 1980's through the early 2000's and that was before LED and with the large batteries. What brand of aluminum dinghy did you have and where can I get the plans and cut files so that I can build my own? Sailing SV Delos has one but yours was a way better design!
WOW I thought I was the only crazy person that does and feels it. I can't watch a movie where someone get put into a coffin, I get panicky and freak out.
I am a full cave diver and instructor my friend. This was beyond foolhardy. Remember you have a following. I know you don’t wand one of your followers dying because they tried to duplicate this (I’m sorry) idiotic stunt. We love you man, stay alive!
Yeah I know... But this isn't the wisdom channel. I have said it before...anyone doing this kind of stuff has rocks in their heads. Thanks for politely telling me to take it easy. There are now 3 of you looking out for me. Good on you. I am getting quite popular. At 50 we can get jackets.
Yea I am just here to give a positive response - that was exciting. Yea it was dumb, but you knew that and wanted a challenge. I really like your under water videos the best (snorkeling and spear hunting).
Last year when some negative thoughts came over me I turned to Christ in prayer and those feelings immediately left me. Christ will save you from such a self destructive path... I've prayed for you.
Remembering the video where you got almost in a pure panic over Margarita being lost in the caves. It's all good pee-pole they were just playing cat & mouse.
I’m thinking 🤔 TANKS, BC & a Octopus rig just in case! I’m hoping that you know that cave better than that, since it’s damn dark & all.... Since we’re all watching this I know you knew where the important “holes” were! I like watching these so be ummm a bit careful!😜
Your a fascinating guy to watch .I started watching sailing zingaro. Then found you Watching him but you are more interesting. I like the spearfishing stuff it's really good. But this stunt at night alone in caves not worth your life for the views. I am looking forward to watching many more years of you doing your thing That you do so well getting out of tight spots. Fixing you sail boat and explaining What your doing all good stuff . Your a trooper keep going forward full steam .
This guy is nuts, pure fearlessness! Plus he's going through a break up, honestly some people amaze me ! Love the video, keep up the good work, try not to die, hopefully see you next week lol peace
Sorry to hear about Margaret she was a good one and she spoke Spanish lol always good to have a interperter lol anyways Anne sure is Smileing at you 👍mine as well hit that lol,I separated from my girl 4yrs ago haven't found one yet or she hasn't found me ya one of those lol, stay cool mate and be Careful 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Most respect to u my brutha, since i watched this video earlier, I decided to comment and i think u should make most of everything as u always do.. How bout make T shirts , Stickas, ETC.. that say either,,, “Dont give a pluck”, or Pluck It”, or whatever the Pluck u want”? ♥️always... fair winds on ur sail to Pandora
Plukky that was a huge risk you took. This is coming from someone that is an advanced diver. Have a buddy next time. Never alone. Keeping you in my prayers. God has a plan for you.
What she said!!!
Agree. His decision making is not what it used to be. His separation is affecting him imo.
^ this, I would upvote more than once if possible. Just so many things wrong with the decisions here. Lumping 5-6 risk factors into the same pot is incredibly dangerous. I am diving for almost 30 years now. Diving alone unknown caves at night as a freediver is nuts. Get off whatever bugs u or it will kill you.
Very well stated Mate, you can’t dive like this… you’ll eventually get in trouble…
AMEN to that.Even if freediving you need to carry a hand held small tank for emergency AND use a line dude so you can get out in an emergency!
A year from now the world and your world will be a totally different place. Time fly's and I hope that joy comes your way. Everything is for a reason even your heart ache. This to shall pass and there are thousands of us that want you to be happy, we sincerely care for you. Thanks Plucky
Love ya Plukky! look after yourself... there's a lot of great stuff still to come and none of us want you to miss out on it
We enjoy your videos Plucky & would like many more of them please, which means kindly stay alive. Night diving, cave diving, solo diving, remote diving, sharks, crocs any one thing is dangerous enough. It might be a tough time, but alive is definitely the best option

No more of this please! Don’t want to lose you!
Plucky be carefull dude... mayby wait with the crazy adventures till the heartache smooths out a little man....
Dont do stupid shit because you feel depressed Plukky, I would hate to have you gone. 💖
Me too!!!!
Plukky, It is hard to comment on this video. It was scary. I learn a lot from you. You seem like a decent fellow. It would be nice to keep you around for a while. Peter, mate. Let's not do this risky night diving alone, eh. This is not the way to recovery, mate.
Goddamn Remember my exitholes. Pff what a video this was. Plukky come on man, my heart almost stopped.
I´ve seen alot of cave diving videos that didn´t end well.........I´m glad this wasn´t one of them. Stay safe.
Cheers
Even though your videos are enthralling and I love watching them, there is really only one reason I watch them! You lucky guy!
Mate, the urge to do anything to make yourself feel alive when your heart has died is completely understandable. I totally get you. You're a clever, 'plucky' bloke. Please do your best to stay alive until you can heal. I'm wishing you the best.
Exactly what i thought
He could just go sleep with some other women. Suprisingly how that heels when you get dumped
I agree with that.
True dat…
You're not telling me what to do. I watched it all.
You wont find what you're looking for down there, Peter. Glad you survived. You still have a ways to go with the whole, learning to love yourself mantra, keep evolving and try to be a bit more careful.
Time for a new intro mate
Definitely!!!
Seems to me, you're living your name's sake you are indeed "Sailing Free" you've found freedom. It's your choice you're free to do whatever you want!!!! enjoy!!
Great video, couldn't wait to read the comments after this one!
Very clever editing...no one would realize you were swimming just a few yards from the boat which resembled a kiddies swimming pool......
I like to follow your adventures as much as anyone...
In DAYLIGHT!
WITH BUDDY SYSTEM!
Oh, Plucky.
Still have an angel on your shoulder, we hope.
My second cousin passed away in Florida caves and I think it sets a bad example to others to go it alone without buddy system so please be more careful as your a important person to those watching your Vlog and the kids will ignore the "don't watch" warning like I did! my brotha! you crossed 100k subscribers! keep your head down and keep charging, we love yah

Change the name of your channel to "Diving till Death" lol.............. Glad you made it back Pluckster.
We caught a four foot mako shark by accident, and it bit the crap out of our ankles and shins You are a vey brave man.
But you are an Aussie so no doubt you are a man’s man.
Good one. The racing heartbeat was a nice touch. I need a drink now. 👍👍👍
If you are still watching please send me an email to peter@elcanoworldchallenge.org
Exactly the type of stuff that I get into when mental strife is cluttering up the works... ;)
I would suggest you don't do this type of thing in the future...we'd really hate to lose you, man!
Maybe that mantis shrimp you filmed at the beginning should have given you a thump on the noggin? ;)
couldn't agree more
Well, that heartbeat sound isn't helping my anxiety lol
Thank you Peter; you have cured my haemorrhoids and not a tube of cream or finger in sight
.
my wife has hems too and I been trying to convince her a peter will heal them now theres proof thanks
@@cditzler6313 pmsl. I can't wait for the same situation.
@Grim FPV Pucker. Like sucking a lemon I would imagine but not my thing. This is about Peter, not how we can demean each other. The bloke is a legend.
@Grim FPV It is a UK colloquial expression for when something frightening makes your bum cheeks clench.
The plukker effect!
Cheers!
I gotta be flat out honest here mate that was a stupid thing to do.
Plukky has broken up whit his love and of course he thinks its his fault. Plukky dosen't realize learning is painful and god intended it to be that way for a reason to put it to good use. I'm afraid Plukky is using it for bad use oh-well he's trying.
Enjoyed the video bro 👊👊👍 but I think next time take someone with you just for back up👍👍👊👊
Peter we love your channel, please don’t do dangerous stuff to get views, we are here for you💖
Holy sheissa. I barely breathed watching this. O_O
Woohoo
If you die then no one will be able to hear your wonderful voice and see your beautiful face!! Please be safe Peter, so many love you!!
I like your bias...face? Only a mother could love... voice...? Basically mum again
Please be safe!
use glow sticks to mark your exits
genius right here
Something like that would be nice if you had a few glow sticks that would be able to get you back to air. But also tying a rope to the beginning of the dive and to you would be a great way to make it out easier. Very risky though. Especially in crocodile territory at night. Be safe Man
Holy shit. That was insane. That was nightmare material!
I officially declare you crazy !
bloody hell Plucky smarten up mate that was way to risky, take a cave line with you next time.
Going by yourself is unwise, this was careless
I can only imagine how panic would set in if both lights died. I hope you have some glow sticks for back up or better yet an oxygen bladder too.
If you run across a croc you'll have some to tie his mouth shut.
risk high, reward minimal !!!!!
My palms are sweating even though you obviously made it. People have died in similar situations with a tank in their back....usually getting stuck in a wreck and silting things up in the dark.
You are correct and I am an advanced open water diver. You never go alone. Anything can go wrong especially when you become overly confident.
Brutal mate
That was scary, Be Careful Peter.
I've done several night dives but mostly with tanks. I like it better in the day time where I can see best. It might have been better if you took your dinghy to the location before it got dark. Next week, night croc diving
that's an adventure mate ... dam sure I did'nt make it in 4 breath holds.
What is it when I watch divers I hold my breath. (Almost blacked out haha)
WOW I thought I was the only crazy person that does and feels it. I can't watch a movie where someone get put into a coffin, I get panicky and freak out.
The only night diving you should be doing is under a duvet…..Keep the boat tidy and get some crew from onboard
I held my breath the whole intro feeling horrible. Please don't do that...you're hurt, not invincible. We all care about you Plucky.
Great video footage Plukky!
You are a hero no doubts about it
I dont need to say anything, everybody else already has.
Not the smartest thing you’ve ever done, huh!
Living on the edge!
I am a full cave diver and instructor my friend. This was beyond foolhardy. Remember you have a following. I know you don’t wand one of your followers dying because they tried to duplicate this (I’m sorry) idiotic stunt. We love you man, stay alive!

I’m just thinking of myself. If something happens to you, I will be stuck with sailing Vagabond.
I'm here for you plukky. stay strong 💪
Yea I am just here to give a positive response - that was exciting. Yea it was dumb, but you knew that and wanted a challenge. I really like your under water videos the best (snorkeling and spear hunting).
I don't have the stones. spooky stuff.
Ah... You warned me but I watched anyways... I'll have to work on that 😉
Stay safe Plucky!
I’m thinking 🤔 TANKS, BC & a Octopus rig just in case! I’m hoping that you know that cave better than that, since it’s damn dark & all.... Since we’re all watching this I know you knew where the important “holes” were! I like watching these so be ummm a bit careful!😜
How long can you hold your breath in one go? Watching the dive it sounds like you are breathing? Are you using portable mouth oxygen canister?
Stop taking risks! Just stop it!
You get a thumbs up for doing smart things mate
You are one mad dude. Anyway great video UK 🇬🇧 👍
well I had to skip through it the first time HA HA . The clue (i have to go back) Yea any way amazing colors those sea creatures are . Great vid !
As suicide attempts go that was pretty elaborate.
Your a fascinating guy to watch .I started watching sailing zingaro. Then found you
Watching him but you are more interesting. I like the spearfishing stuff it's really good. But this stunt at night alone in caves not worth your life for the views. I am looking forward to watching many more years of you doing your thing
That you do so well getting out of tight spots. Fixing you sail boat and explaining
What your doing all good stuff .
Your a trooper keep going forward full steam .
That was pretty cool. Incredible what the human body can do if you’re in control of it.
If you swim with the crocs, channel will blow! For god sake! PBS and bbc can do it!!! Your the man for the job!
My family and i really look forward to your videos. Jake is 5, Ona 2 and our baby is 9 months. Keep it going brother!!!
What are you doing putzing around there for when you should be in Portugal?
Thanks
Crazy stuff. Get a small 10 minute tank , just in case. Exciting job .
Wow that was crazy was holding my breath for you
So, who do you want notified when there is no post next week? Just dumb, but i get it..
This is bloody insanity mate!
Fk only watched the intro and now won't sleep. Please please be careful
Reckless. Awesome, but reckless...
One thing to be adventurous, another to be down right stupid... DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!
