Hey another good video. We’re also full time travelling & it’s been 1.5 years since we left Canada. We’ll be in Lisbon next week & can’t wait to enjoy our week there. We just spent 3 weeks in Porto. 😊
@@kdtravelwarriors Congratulations on your full time travels! We are on the first leg of our adventure so we admire that you’ve been at it for one and a half years! Enjoy your time in Lisbon! Maybe we will even meet up somewhere along the way! Safe travels. 😊

Not only for cooking, you can buy Ermelinda wine in a box of 3 liters, I use it in my home, it is a good quality wine to drink. AVOID all boxes of wine that mention MADE IN EU, go only for the ones that is labeled MADE IN PORTUGAL
Hi. Just an advice I am sure you will keep in your memory forever. Go to a "casa de fado" (fado house), where you can dine and listen to fado (without it you'll miss a lot of what is our culture). I would recommend "Tasca do Chico" in Alfama (make sure to have a reservation). Just don't make any noise when they are singing, because there must be absolute silence to hear fado. Enjoy your time with us!
We live about 40 minutes South of Lisbon. I would recommend Cascais for a day out-it's a 30-minute train ride westwards. There are nice walks along the estuary and beaches, and the town is nice, too.
Hi, been following you since Ramsgate-love your videos. My partner & I were in Portugal last April-May-Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra & Tavira. Can’t wait to go back. We stayed in Graca in Lisbon. If you go there check out O Satelite restaurant, great fish dishes. Also Sant’ Avo across the street. (no connection, we just liked them) Looking forward to your next post, take care.
You must try the pastéis de nata of "Pastelinho de Benfica". You can do it if you visit the Zoo of Lisbon (a very nice place to visit). From the zoo, it´s a 15 minute walk to Pastelinho. I'm glad you came to Óbidos. Hope you liked it. Another places that are a must: Évora (2 h by train from Lisbon); Monsaraz and Marvão (like Óbidos); Alcobaça and Batalha (monasteries); and I could keep saying places on and on and on. Cheers.
Thanks for the video. We loved Lisbon too. Here is a suggestion for a day trip. Take the train or bus to Evora and go see the Bone Chapel. Very unique site. There is also a well preserved Roman temple that is worth seeing.
Very brave of you to try box wine 🍷 😮 Your airbnb looks great 👍 But seems a little high for shoulder season. Wonderful location with so much to see and do. Not to mention all the great food.😊 Thanks for the tip to watch out for the "upsells" And to ask for the prices. 💰 💸 Great job on 10k steps. How are you managing you 90 days Shengen itinerary?
That price is high? Are you serious? We were in the Graca neighborhood in March and paid more than that for a much much smaller place! It was nice and we thought we had a great deal but this place is AMAZING for an amazing price! Maybe it's due to the high floor/no elevator.
@@jenniferpincus2011 I can understand how we can think rental /airbnb prices are cheap or a great deal. Depending on what our base references are. You paid more for a smaller place but not on the 5th floor. I did a search for entire homes / apartments for 2 adults during Feb and Oct adjusted the filter price to 1008€ or less. Over 25 came up for 29 days both cases.
I just got back from Lisboa! We did a day trip to Queluz and visited the palace and gardens - it’s so beautiful! Welcome to this beautiful country... regarding the wine, you could find really good wines around, for cooking and for drinking, Lidl doesn't have many options, really, but it is very easy to find a wider and better range of options. You could drink a very decent everyday wine for 4 or 6 euros.

Just spent 3 wks in Portugal, 11 days in Lisbon: 7 in Belem and 4 in Alfama. I'm a surprised you wear your shoes in the aparment, considering how most of the streets smell a bit like urine. Btw, great deal on the apartment. You did it the right way. I love Lisbon, love Portugal. Going to miss Pingo Doce and Auchan.

Looking forward to our day outwith you next week xxxxxx
You should buy a city tour to know the beautiful Lisboa! You will never be able to know the city without professionals taking you to the best parts of the city. Being a Portuguese living in Lisboa it's always sad to see tourists in areas that doesn't represent the city at all! Be happy 😊

Pastel de nata from Belem were amazing. Will definitely make a trip back just for those ones. Like you tried them everywhere and liked a lot but loved Belem ones. Loved Lisbon.
The "pastéis" from Belém are not Pastéis de Nata, they're Pastéis de Belém. There's a reason why you loved them: they're different and unique because they have a secret recipe. They're also trademarked, that's why no one else sells them and instead the other bakeries sell a pastry that looks like a Pastel de Belém but it's a Pastel de Nata.
I thought it was just me that Bolt stood up! We had a connection and they cancelled two minutes away. Didn't trust waiting for another car so we walked the mile with cases. And you know what the paths/sidewalks are like in Portugal! We have both apps to mitigate one or other failing us. Then good old shanks pony if all else fails!
We were stood up a few times by Bolt, so we just started using Uber exclusively. Uber always seemed to get the job done. Our legs were our most used means of transportation and are a great fall back for us too when all else fails! :)
Hi guys, just 2 things, time change is from Sat to Sun, at 2 am clocks go back to 1 am, the other thing is, in Portugal and most if not all of Europe there is no first amendment, when videoing in public beware of showing license plates, peoples faces and whatever, also it is a big no no to video cops, privacy laws here are absurd to the point that you have an expectation of privacy (anonymity) even when in public and I don't see vlogs warning Americans about it, it is a criminal offence. Nice to see you are enjoying yourselves.
Hi Walter! We did find that out after we posted the video. We were talking to a Portuguese couple who informed us about the errors of our ways. :) Wow! That is great to know. Thanks for sharing!

That's a very shady neighbourhood in Lisbon... there is not a lot of portuguese people there xD (maybe older people, yes). That neighbourhood is the one with most immigration from South East Asia and Africa, it has also a lot of homeless and junkies. Its bad, but not unsafe (Lisbon is a really safe city). If you move a couple of blocks to Campo Martires da Patria, Avenidas Novas, Etc quality of life improves dramatically. Everything is immediately more clean and organised. If you want to explore where the Portuguese people live in Lisbon, go to the neighbourhoods go to: Alvalade, Avenida de Roma, Campo Pequeno, Encarnação etc I'm from Sintra and I totally recommend going there as well =)
