Big respect to Mrs.Ridley for defending fans! Very classy. We wish her nothing but great success.
It’s actually quite shocking a Disney actress didn’t attack the fans and repeat the narrative. This should be the go to response from all actors and actresses.
@@The_Primary_Axiom For all we know, Daisy could agree with the fans, but voicing her opinion would mean banishment.
FGS guys she's not a very good actress,a shame but there you have it.
I wouldn't know if she is good. She was given a flat character. I don't believe anyone could have done Rey better since the character was given no growth arc, a lame backstory that waffled for 3 movies, and directors who just didn't know what to do with her.
I'd love to see what she could do with a good script and good director.
At the very least she is a stand up person. Dodging such blatant hate bate and putting a positive word in for fans. As a fan I've felt the people in charge of an IP I love have been attacking me for having an opinion. This was a refreshing change.
I love Daisy, she's really putting herself out there and I know she feels vulnerable at times. But all I can say is she is a great talent and the force has yet to recognize the true potential that she really is 😊
Daisy Ridley is a true gift to this world ❤️🔥
Nice try to get her to insult the fans. Maybe insulting fans isn't such a good strategy. Maybe that's why a channel that allegedly has 4.2 million followers puts out a video that only has 8,700 views and 24 comments.
Very good point
Fans ?
“Sometimes I Think About Dying" is truly a touching and beautifully made and performed film. Daisy Ridley has range!
Range Daisy is one notorious character. Otherwise, she wouldn't be returning to the franchise even after fans hate her and her films are considered the worst in the timeline.
@@andrewfantome4020i PROMISE you that this is exclusively an online star wars echochamber thing. Most fans do not hate her, and most people do not consider all three sequels to be the worst star wars movies. The rise of skywalker probably quite a few people. Other than that, no.
@@littleredruri If you have to convince me of this, then this is already in great doubt.
NO ONE is or has ever said they are against a female director. that is media lies. and i do not think anyone dislikes Daisy. people dislike how badly the writers handled the Rey character. and it is crazy that ANY inexperienced director would be hired straight into a massive franchise like Star Wars, the great directors that made great films LEARNED their craft through years of experience before they make some huge budget big blockbuster epic film. the basic idea for the story can be great, the basic idea for the story of The Force Awakens had a lot of good ideas in it, but EVERYTHING was executed wrong and the script around the basics was bad. and it IS going to happen again with these inexperienced people in charge.
Acolyte is successful. Lucas is trying to fix some of this mistakes.
It's not about gender! We are not criticizing Charmeen because she is a woman, we are criticizing her because of her controversial comments, she is an activist and we just want a good story...
Star wars in itself is a political story...hence the name lol. Why not give an activist a chance? What's the big deal? They are already experts at understanding and listening to different stories and perspectives. Which is part of the art of filmmaking.
It's not a controversial comment if you actually know the background and context of the comment
@@chromatinkisswhat even was the comment
@@littleredruri "I like to make men uncomfortable"
Yes, keep twisting the narrative why don't you. Star Wars has had female involvement from the start, and nobody had an issue with any of it... when you force the message more women need to do things just because than whoever is qualified is where the issue arises... and with Sharmeen, it is a valid question... she has no experience with a project of this magnitude... she is a documentarian, not a film director... and her involvement on The Marvels tv show, most of her work was re-shot without her. She was brought on to bring a feminist slant... a message only... and no experience to a role to a franchise that should have more qualified people to direct, women or men. The fanbase liked the Mando eps that were directed by female directors like you said... with Deborah CHow and Bryce Dallas HOward, so you have contradicted your own narrative. Taking a bunch of toxic trolls as representing the majority of the fanbase argument is disingenuous and why there is so much ill will towards Disney and Disney Star Wars.
Bravo! Very well said!
Daisy's cool, great actress, natural. Please stay awesome!
I'm up for anything Daisy does I've been in love with her since I was 13
l saw her first
I have posted this before but I think that it fits here too. However people feel about the sequels, absolutely none of it should be on Daisy Ridley. I can’t wait for her to return just like I couldn’t wait for Hayden Christensen and Ahmed Best to return!
I totally read this title wrong, I thought she was depressed or something.
Exactly what I thought too! Then I checked back the title and there were quotation marks around the “Sometimes I think about dying”. Phew!
Dylan, within the Star Wars community, the concern isn't rooted in gender dynamics for project leadership. It centers on Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's dual roles as a filmmaker and activist. A prevailing unease arises from entrusting a major franchise to an individual whose primary identity is associated with activism, and whose directorial experience in such expansive ventures is limited. While societal messages hold value, the paramount consideration remains the imperative for a narrative of substance, propelled by intricately developed characters
that and the fact she said she enjoys making men uncomfortable so why would the majority of the fan base who are men will support a misandrist is sexism is bad then sharmeen is a hypocrite that the fan base will not support nevermind about her activism which does nothing to the fan base and good for her doing it but a hypocrite is still a hypocrite so i will not support a hypocrite whos obviously a misandrist
I so much love her
Daisy Ridley is immensely gifted. Her non-Star Wars films after Chaos Walking (which has failed and misused Daisy's talent) are quite good. Ophelia was fantastic and Sometimes I think about Dying is just brilliant work. Looking forward to her return as Rey Skywalker in New Jedi Order, and any other pictures she has lined up.
hopefully the starwars movie flops
Ophelia was good lol? Tell us how they turned Ophelia into a self-insert of the author, belittling the original male characters, and how they then bought criticism of the film on Rotten Tomatos.
@@t3jflove to see "fans" who are rooting for the failure of their "favourite" franchise
@littleredruri My favorite franchise was before Disney destroyed it. I hope it can return to better hands and I can get back to bring a fan
Love you daisy
Daisy you have more than 1 Oscar in your future. I'm calling it.
This simply shows how biased the media is. That was such a dishonest question. If a male director made any comment remotely close to 'I like to make women feel uncomfortable' this effing 'reporter' would be saying that he shouldn't be directing Star Wars. Yet when the shoe is on the other foot, 'oh how do you feel about the fans being sexist?' I have so much respect for Daisy, I've never once hated her for her role as Rey I simply hated the writing and felt bad that she had to play such a horrible character. My respect for her grew so much more with this because she didn't rise to the bait. Shame on this 'reporter' for this terrible question.
Daisy Ridley 💙
Movies & Game
1. Rey - Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens, Episode 8 The Last Jedi, Episode 9 The Rise Of Skywalker, BattleFront 2 2015 - 2017 - 2019
They didn't say they didn't want a female director they just heard that the director said she likes to make men uncomfortable which put a lot of people off.
Ughhhhh it has nothing to do with it being a female director. It’s about the disgusting comments Sharmeen has made. We love Bryce Dallas Howard who’s directed so many great episodes of mando and shes a FEMALE DIRECTOR. Also this interviewer knows nothing about Star Wars or the fan base since she mentioned Kathleen like shes some sort of saint even though the whole fan base wants her gone for her brutal decision making. All we want are GOOD STORIES! Stop making it about gender!
These people ruined one of the greatest franchises, and now they are trying to blame it on their fans with the help of Hollywood stars and the media. How pathetic.
Exactly
Well said.
Very well said!
Bottom line, Marcia Lucas had it right, Rey's character was a mess as a Jedi who got her powers without needing any training. You can't build a continuing Star Wars film series on that fatally flawed foundation. Daisy was done dirty by Kathleen Kennedy and J. J. Abrams and it's too late to fix that fatal birth defect in her character.
The problem with the Rey character is she's the daughter of a Palpatine and she came at the expense of getting proper Solo Twins and a proper Sequel Trilogy based on George's ideas. It just ruined the story and canon of the 6 films. Its not Daisey's fault though!
About the only thing they could do to fix the Star Wars brand is relabel 7, 8, 9 as 10, 11, 12 and do George's Sequels with Darth Talon, Maul and the Solo Twins and Heir to the Empire then send the Solo twins off to Peridea with Ahsoka or Ezra so the sequels can still happen. Then give Rey some kind of arc and that would fix everything.
She has great teeth.
I like how the female reporter brings up Kathleen Kennedy like as if Star Wars fans don't like her and wouldn't celebrate like it's the end of the Empire i Episode 6 if she were to get fired
And the massive "MMMMMHHHHHMMM" from Daisy after KK got mentioned insinuating she isn't a big fan of her herself
Love smile❤
That's my Rey of Light.
When was this filmed?
Daisy Ridley as Spider-Woman
Ahh come on Daisy, it’s not a Disney movie if you don’t attack the customers and repeat the narrative. You slippin. Nobody wants a smart, non-divisive, nontoxic and likable actress who wants to create a big fanbase.
Only click on the video for Daisy Ridley she is hot dont care about the other stuff and she is a good actress
Literally no one said they didn't want a female director. Just not THAT director.
Rey ❤
You said oregon?
I thought I saw someone resemble daisy nearby.
*wow😮*
A new Ray movie will make my favorite TH-cam channels lot's of money 💰 🤑 😀 shout out to FNT Nerdrotic AZ Geeks and Gamers Critical Drinker the Fellowship and 199.. I can't wait till the Ray Dumpster Fire Train Wreck movie comes out 😂😂😂
Yeah, it is a win-win situation for us consumers :-) Either the movie will be great, or the reactions of Nerdrotic and the others will be great :-)
Bryce Dallas Howard directed some of my favorite episodes of The Mandalorian.
Nobody has anything against a female director. It’s that they’re focusing on pushing an agenda, instead of just good writing.
When the host said Kathleen Kennedy 3:38 😂
Maybe Ridley finally Googled what 'Mary Sue' means, whatever the cause of her defence,IMO she has gone up in my view of her! (yeah i know she might be just protecting her career)
A film that will be massively boycotted
I completely misinterpreted the title as something else...
she is pretty nice
Daisys a fine young woman. If she wants to be Lara Croft I would completely back it up. Rey was a very inappropriate propaganda tool - she didn’t deserve to be used for someone’s agenda. If Disney was as a clever as they used to be, they could’ve pulled off what they wanted, but this is an era for Disney where everything they do is sloppy, immature, and disingenuous. They set her up to fail.
I kinda feel bad for her because all she has is star wars to her name for the rest of her career & whatever else she does won't matter.
think about the money she made with Star Wars and the millions she would make if the rey movie(s) would get made. ;)
Mark Hamill, Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood also hadn't the easiest careers after their big roles but at least they all were provided a good written script with an interesting character.
Shame on you guys for trying to bait her like that.
Daisy is marrird!
She would look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle made for two, indeed. 😊
She seems very nice but I will be boycotting the new Jedi order. They utterly destroyed the original arc of the first 6 movies. It’s not her fault but I won’t be watching this nonsense.
Black to big screen ole
HOLD ON, who said they didn't want a female director for Star Wars?
Hate Rey. Love Daisy.
Click bait
She's probably a very nice person. But she's a very stiff, wooden actor.
oh i hate the outfit shes wearing like relax you aint a grandma yet
