Humane Society International’s animal rescue team works tirelessly on Australia's Kangaroo Island to save wild animals injured and traumatized by the devastating wildfires.
In response to the devastating fires in Australia, Humane Society International is working with HSI/Australia, with our assessment team, in caring for affected animals, including the purchase of additional resources and providing food and water stations to animals still living in the burned out areas. Thank you for all of your support and helping make this work possible.

It's amazing how the animals knew that you were there to help them and let you rescue them. So sad to see so many animals didn't make it.

I will ALWAYS be grateful to the Australian people, the brave firefighters who saved everyone they saw and this fantastic animal wellfare organisation for rescuing and nursing all theese precious wildlife animals back to health. I have already donated three thousand american dollars and begged everyone of my friends to do the same. More donations will find its way to Australia, with love and respect from Sweden..

A year on, but thank you so very much from an aussie volunteer fire fighter. Our country needed help, and not only did other countries help on a national scale but regular honest good people like yourself really stepped up for us when we needed you. We won't forget. Thank you.
@@perthfalcon As a Brit I think most of us see you as our cousins so the UK government would never have heard the end of it if they never helped and seeing Roos and Koalas dying was so sad everyone was talking about it so it helped with donations😢 I think cause Australia has animal species that are very specific to that region also played a part in the huge donations from many countries and the public do you have an update on how the area is getting on?
@@randomshorts739 it was and still is sad, one of the saddest things apart from so much burned country and the toll on the wildlife was the mismanagement of all the donations. The red cross being one of the worst offenders - millions of well intentioned dollars flowed from all over the world and somehow a huge amount got eaten up by "administrative costs" and not that much of it made it to where it counts.
Which really hurts my heart. As far as the burned country goes, be another 50-60 years to be what it was but it, and we, are resilient.

@@perthfalcon The red cross has been the same for decades a horrible charity really makes me mad at the money these charities steal and the high wage the people at the top of the charity earn at least some of the money helped hopefully if there ever is a next time maybe the Australian people could set something up for donations that actually get to the people and animals in need
I'm not a person easily moved..I have my moments.
But I cried like a baby...watching all that destruction in Australia... POOR ANIMALS... My only wish is that I could do honourable work like H.S.I. i do my own little bit where I live...BLESS YOUS 💓 and a very big THANKYOU 💓

These beautiful animals (knows that, nature takes revenge because of human factor), however. Local groups and rescue services for animal life, helps these animals to survive that nightmare. At the end of the day, all rescued animals (knows that, the fire was,...probably human factor), by animals saved by humans. What if these animals had voice, what is go to tell us???

@@lucywilliams8281 okay flat earther, first off, global warming is VERY real, and it brings people together, not apart, in the effort to fight it. Global warming means the average global temperature rises, which causes things like coral bleaching, algae blooms, harsher storms, worse droughts, screwed up trans-oceanic currents etc. (The effects are not just that everything gets hotter, like some people think).
@@lucywilliams8281 also, I don't know what you're going on about farmers not being allowed to burn (my guess is you are talking about controlled burns using fire as part of an ecosystem?) (Which is not something farmers should be put up to), but farmers DO burn. That's the reason the Amazon is burning. Farmers are clearing jungle in order to make crop and grazing land. I don't know why you think the problems we're having are not our responsibility. They are.

my heart just broke so bad when i saw those poor little guys not being able to live anymore. i really wanted to go to australia and go into the fire to rescue those precious babies as much as i can when this was happening but unfortunately i live in the other side of the world. but this is nature, fires will happen and i hope i will be able to help as many as i can in the future by going there.

It's just so gutwrenching to watch. Those burnt to death bodies (and souls)... Omg. Once you've seen that you can't unsee it. And those poor confused desperate koalas... The little guy with the fur on his ears burnt off. I just can't.
how dare those greedy politicians and people who leads a luxury life could ignore these heartrending catastrophe. People must act together to stop this. I'm so sick of how people doing nothing while knowing these horrible things are really happening in our world. They talk about climate change, forest deforestation, global warming, Australia wildfires and beyond. But none of them take actions. This video is telling the truth. I appreciate to all the animal rescuers, you guys really inspired me to be a hero like you.
