- A woman rescued a badly burnt and wailing koala from an Australian bushfire on Tuesday (November 19).
The marsupial was spotted crossing a road amongst the flames near Long Flat in New South Wales (NSW).
A local woman, who told Australia's Nine News her name was Toni, rushed to the koala's aid, wrapping the animal in her shirt and a blanket and pouring water over it.
She said she would transport the injured koala to the nearby Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.

As an Australian I can tell you that this is still impossible to watch without bursting into tears! My heart was beyond broken for all the wonderful creatures that call this land of extremes home.

The fires won't get any better, even with a 100x budget on 'management', until CO2 levels in the atmosphere start dropping. That's going to take at least 50 years. And until then, the fires will get worse. Australia is all but collapsed. A dead man walking.

Actually, no, sadly he ended up dying. They tried to save him, but i think he was too badly burnt. Very sad what happened to a lot of animals in these awful fires.

We have bush fires every year in Australia. It is usually the Do Gooders that stop the back burning of Trees and initiate these fires. No real Fires this year in Australia, as we finally told the do Gooders to go to buggery, and we back burned.
Bushfires have become more prevalent due to stupid “green” laws that have prevented removing overgrown brush.
This is so sad. He’s crying and there’s blood.

This baby’s cries kill me. So many animals die this way with no one to save them. I can’t stand it if my hair straightener touches my skin, let alone these animals running around literally on fire. actually no they arent, the firefighters are contars doing more harm than good... By preventing smaller fires to burn the ground vegetation every year with this keeping the weed in check, the firefighters put these small fires out so eventually when there is overgrown ground vegetation and us especially dry, there is an enermous big fire, a wildfire wich cant be stopped, leveling the entire forest so they worked for nothing at the end as well as some even die

It’s heartbreaking to see an animal suffer like that with no idea what’s happening to it. It’s even more so to know how many animals weren’t so lucky to survive during these fires at the time. Haven’t had this many tears in a while.
That’s what gets me as well, this koala might have got lucky but I think of the hundreds of other koalas/animals that were cooked alive. Watching it try to get its feet off of the hot ground is terrible to see, this world is depressing.
It really hurts the heart. the reality of what's happened to those poor creatures is so heartbreaking.

1- Avoid throwing cigarettes outdoors or on the road
2- Disposal of investment waste
3- Educating tourists and forest dwellers about the importance of the forest and the necessity of preserving it
4- Putting fire guards in place
5- Avoid igniting the garbage at random
6- Keep the fire extinguished well
7- Close some fire-sensitive forests at critical times
8- Providing a forestry staff and training them well in extinguishing fires
9- Publishing about any fire and gathering people to extinguish it .............
