In this comparison, we go over how the new 2023 model of the Sole F80 compares to the previous model. It has received a completely new design and features for starters. What we loved about the previous model and love about the new model is that the F80 is a stable machine with a high weight limit. It’s also backed by a lifetime warranty.
As far as similarities, these treadmills have 3.5 horsepower motors that sound similar and perform the same. They also both have large 22” wide by 60” long decks. They have firm cushioning as well which is best if you’re a road runner. Both treadmills fold up and can be moved with their 4 transportation wheels, too.
For differences, these models have completely different looks. The new Sole F80 has been streamlined to look less bulky. It also has a 10” touch screen that makes it easier to use. There are far fewer buttons on the console but both machines have the same functionality and 12 mph max speed and 15% incline.
What we love about both models is that you can hop on and go. Neither require a subscription to use, even the new model with all of its tech features. The new model still has onboard workouts, fitness tests, and streaming from 12 apps like Netflix and Hulu. You can also screen mirror your phone to the touch screen to watch something that isn’t already available on the F80.
Overall, we’re really pleased with the improvements to the new Sole F80 Treadmill. This has been one of our top recommended treadmills over the past few years, and it continues to be with its new design and features.

      What'd you end up choosing?

    Great comparison 👏
Would you recommend the f80 or the s77? 3 runners, approximately 75 a 100km per week running.

I think the technology upgrades (touch screen and grab bar) alone make it worth the $400 price difference.

The startup time on the 2023 model is significantly longer when compared to the old model. This review does not show this and it's fairly annoying to wait ~1 minute to boot the system before you can start. Also, hopefully your treadmill doesn't trip the breaker like ours does while using it (waiting for parts from Sole on a treadmill that is < 1 week old).

Is your breaker ok for the F80? I didn't find what's amperage is required in the documentation

Hello there. If you had to choose a treadmill between the sole F 80 and the horizon 7.4, which one would you pick?

Both are really solid and comparable treadmills. I say, if you want a treadmill that feels more similar to running outside that offers streaming from Netflix and other apps, then I'd go with the Sole F80. If you want a simpler design with more absorbent cushioning in the deck and a quicker-adjusting motor for interval training then the Horizon 7.4 AT is one to consider. It really comes down to personal preference of the features when picking which one of these treadmills will work better for you. Let us know if you have any more questions!

Awesome thank you so much. Yes I need one for marathon training and speed workouts.
