This review dives into the new 2023 model of the Sole F80 Treadmill. The F80 has received a new design for this year with a lot of included tech without losing the integrity of the construction. The Sole F80 has been one of the best treadmills we recommend for home use and it continues to be with this update.
The motor is quiet and powerful. It’s 3.5 horsepower, so it handles a lot of running and use. It goes up to 12 mph and has a 15% incline to offer plenty of versatility in your training. The incline is also so quiet that have to look down at the deck to see if it’s adjusting. The motor adjusts slowly, but it is consistent and smooth.
The deck is spacious at 22” wide and 60” long. This is optimal for most peoples’ running strides. The deck also folds up making it more convenient for home use. The deck uses a hydraulic system to give you assistance when lifting the deck. It unfolds with a yellow handle at the bottom of the deck so it will slowly lower to the floor itself.
The Sole F80 handles users up to 350 lbs which is a nice weight limit considering its new, sleeker design. The steel frame and uprights hold everything really well that even my large water bottle doesn’t move when I run.
In addition to the stable design, the new F80 has a lot of tech features that make it fun and easy to use. We like that the quick adjustment buttons have been placed on either side of the touch screen. Plus, the 10” touch screen is clear and easy to navigate.
One of my favorite things about the Sole F80 is that it doesn’t require a subscription to access the content and features on the screen. Available on the screen are onboard workouts and fitness tests, as well as a manual mode to adjust the treadmill yourself. Now on the screen are 12 preloaded apps to stream from. These include apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Spotify. All you need to do is log into your account for each of these apps and start streaming. Plus, you can screen mirror your phone to enjoy even more content on the 10” touch screen.

We bought an F80 for home use and we all love it. We’ve had it for a couple months now so I can’t speak of long term use. The deck is spacious, sturdy and feels like it’s absorbing a lot of shock, so it’s easier on the knees. The motor and incline feel strong and change up effortlessly. I love the large buttons on either side and also at waist level - very easy to use while running. Love the large handles for balance. Lots of storage for ear buds and water, etc. Nice charging spot for phones and a place up top for the iPad. Overall just a very enjoyable treadmill to use.
Cons are the fan is pretty much useless and the speakers are terrible - but I use a separate fan and use earbuds, so I don’t care about those things.

I’ve had my Sole treadmill and elliptical for about 18 years. Both are still in excellent condition and I use them almost daily. I just want to upgrade. I hope I don’t upgrade and get a lemon.
Excellent review and mirrors my experience, as well. Received my F80 this week and could not recommend any higher! I talked to Sole's support team at length about which model to purchase, as I had no budget in mind. Sole considers this model high mid-tier. It performs better than many commercial treadmills a,nd the deck is huge. I had a top of the line Livestrong tread that finally gave out after almost two decades, but this new Sole model feels extremely solid and is even more substantial, all while catching me up into 2023 tech. I'm not bothered by the screensize or controls, and I feel like the tech is extremely well done. The only consistent agreement that I have as a con is that the fans are practically useless. Also, note that the shock absorbtion, while good, is not as cushioned as other treads. However, I'm a lifelong road runner, so I prefer a firmer deck. It's not uncomfortable at all, it's just "firmer." Otherwise, I rate this tread as a 9/10 and highly recommend along with the reviewer.

Was having a hard time deciding on the F80 vs F85. Although the bump in HP would be nice and bigger screen might be prettier to look at. I decided to save the $$$ and go with the F80. Out of those two difference they seem to be the same machine. Thank you for your reviews. It helped me make my decision.
I’m 6’6” thanks for the taller runner example. Lifetime athlete but looking for options to save my joints. I have multiple machines but it’s time to move the running to indoors as much as possible after years of basketball even though I enjoy the outdoors.

Ended up deciding on an F80 for my father, who's in his 70s, to replace his very old and busted up Nordic Track 3500R. I was very tempted to go with a more expensive manual treadmill (e.g. Assault Runner Pro) but he's so used to electric and there's no where close to our location to try out a manual before buying, so it would have been a crap shoot whether it worked for him or not. Also, I was concerned that a manual might pose more of a risk of injury or falling for elderly users -- though that worry might be unfounded.
One thing that's very appealing to me about manual treadmills is their longevity -- It likely would last the rest of our lives if it's well maintained, like my trusty Concept 2 rower.
The Assault Runner is still on my wishlist to try out someday.
My wife and I have had terrible luck (?) with Sole treadmills. We are on our 3rd warranty replacement and this one trips the breaker while running (even if no one is standing on it). They will not give us a refund... only replacement parts. And since we live in an area (just outside Seattle), they have no technicians to do the work. Therefore I get stuck doing it. I would recommend looking at other companies, unless you like waiting weeks and sometimes months for parts you may get stuck installing yourself.

Question does it pair with Bluetooth heart rate monitors?
Can the cushion be improved after the fact? Like a mat or change the polypropylene spacers?
Does the treadmill automatically turn off while idling or do I have to turn the power off
Bought mine in April 2023 and had to replace a motor and speed button so far….. just beware. They replaced everything and no charge but still sucks I couldn’t run on it for a month.
Bought a Sole F-85 treadmill, love the machine but had a motor controller go bad under warranty (no problem things happen) then found out parts are not available with no estimate as to when replacement parts will be available. Bought a replacement part from Treadmill doctor (great company) received 3 days later that worked great, asked for a rebate but was given a ridiculous excuse about quality of replacement parts but no rebate. great machine crap warranty!
Would my iPad Pro fit on the console?
One of the things that you always don't mention in your videos is can you use your android or apple watch with this machine? Like if I downloaded the Sole app. Would it track my steps on my watch?
How would it be for a 5' person?? I'm short and display looks kinda high
Hi, Sydney here. I'm actually 5'1" so the F80's screen is a great height for me and should be for you too. It's right in my line of sight so I don't have to look down or up. The top device rack is a little tall but I can still see my phone just fine when I have it up there.

Does this treadmill work with the peloton app?
You can use the Peloton App on your own decide but it doesn't sync with the treadmill.
How does it handle on carpet? Like the warranty.
We recommend placing it on a rubber treadmill mat. We recommend this for all treadmills. Using it over time on carpet could cause the motor to get carpet fibers in it, which could damage the motor
Anyone know how to get this one in calibration mode after cleaning it. I only find videos of the old ones.

@@brandon32689 Found it! First, you need to tap the settings icon at the top. Then tap rapidly 10 times on the word "settings". I know it looks weird, but this is how you access to the advance settings.
Why is the screen you have different to when you google the sole f80. The screen you have does not come up. 🤨
If you're outside the US you might not be seeing the updated model.
seems crazy this is nowhere to be found in canada online at all and can find very limited info on this in general, which is concerning, maybe issues that are delaying launch... only the old ones are shown online other than your website and dicks sporting goods...
Could possibly be still working through the rest of the inventory before they launch these new machines in Canada. Unfortunately we don't have any information on it but that would be our guess.
The console features show nicely in this video, but the system takes forever to startup. It is DEFINITELY not hop on and go. Hop on, wait over a minute, then go. Very irritating.

Yup i have the same issue with mine. Hopefully they fix it with an update. Seems like all andriods dont work properly
