Dad worked there in the 70s in the slicing machine used to come home in the morning with warm bread. They used to have party's at the church hall for employees kids

Used to visit my great aunt who lived in Railway Terrace back in the 60’s early 70’s. Spent most of the day either watching the shunter’s going along the tracks to the Patent Shaft or watching the loaves of bread going round the conveyor at the bakery.
As children we usevyo sing to the bread van man hickey bottom bread tast like led if you eat it yiu drop down dead 😅😅😅 the plack is out sidebthe front of the building telling you about it
my husband lived around there just off Leabrook rd his parents used to have bread delivery's and also had cakes from them always made people hungry when going pasted such a shame its all gone around there now.
My mom used to buy that bread, bread these days tastes of nothing, sorry but I hate old business closing down, we had sunblest as well, now that's gone😢
