Following Ricardo for many years now, i think its a wide mix of drum machine, organic samples, some even played by himself (he is also a conga player). I start to use myself some buchla's sound, and some are very proach sometimes. Besides, he has some killer rack effect (his studio is just amazing, check on a documentary he appears on arte named 24 hours, you will have an idea), and his deep knowledge on using reverb and filter leads to this strange and unique result of sound, hope it helps. ;)
