Holy crap. I just had YT recommend "Drops of Jupiter" to me, and started tearing through your work. You are so skilled and talented, my bruddah. This looks like it was a lot of hard work but also a hell of a lot of fun. Up there just rockin' out and havin' a great time. It's gonna take a while to burn through all the stuff I wanna listen to. New sub, new fan.
Third Eye Blind (Self-Titled), 1997...one of the best albums of all time IMO. Almost every track is great, but it's totally listenable all the way through. So many sleepers too, like "God of Wine" and "The Background". Incredible cover, as always, Alex 🤘🏼
The drum work here is other-level. A lot like Blink songs, you have the Barker patterns down. The whole thing is fantastic and works brilliantly, but those drums really elevate it from the original.
Your Semi-Charmed cover is how I found your channel. Loved everything you’ve released before and since. Thanks for all the music! (More TBS please, its like getting a remaster of Tell All Your Friends that we don’t deserve but I love so much)

epic! just read the title, I already know this gonna be awesome! this make me put the past away... really enjoy this version of 'Jumper' nice cover as always!
I was listening to a Blink-182 playlist at work and this song automatically came on and I thought "When did Blink cover Third Eye Blind!?" I pulled the screen back up and I couldn't believe it wasn't actually Blink. Bloody Brilliant, sir.
Just found y'all, and y'all already have me rockin' full blast, on the radio, with the top down, in the jeep. Keep it up with the 90's remakes! A little 80's thrown in is good also!
you really do a great job of playing the drums like travis would. Ive seen a lot of people try to impersonate his style, and most people focus too much on just speed and ignore some of the intricacies of his style. But you do a great job. your drums skills have gotten crazy. keep it up man
Your energy in this one is phenomenal. Keep the blink covers coming, keep the half time, double time and emo, metal and most importantly some original stuff keep em all coming
These videos always show me how good the originals are in that they translate to new styles so well. This absolutely sounds like it could be a blink song that would be popular and would fit on the same album as “I miss you”
@@picklerick111 I know 3eb has been around for the same amount of time, I meant hearing songs played through a different band’s style shows how great the original writing is. Basically, a good melody and chord progression will still be a good song with different styles of music.
There has never been a more perfect reimaging of any song ever before in history, ever. Gives the song the energy it deserves without losing the despair and desperation.
Dude this songs sounds so good. The lyrics are clean: I hear everything and the sound also complements how much mastery you have to the song. At least in my eyes.
If anyone is curious you can also find Alex's music on Spotify and it has certainly made road trips enjoyable. Both nostalgic and transformative I would say! Thanks Alex!
Four Year Strong is full of some of the coolest dudes I've ever met. I'm glad you're working with Alan! I'll see them for the 24th time next month in Tampa...
This might be my new favourite song from the brilliant and entertaining mind of Alex Melton!! Also I always remember of this song on the movie Yes Man, which makes this song even funnier for me hahahaha
You've elevated a kind of art that is now of itself, standing in it's own genre! What do you call this? You've got normal folk like me listening extremely closely and intently. Ah! Blink WROTE it! Whatta show! Bravo, Alex!
Someone start a petition to get Alex on the Blink US Tour dates.
He wouldn’t be ON the tour. He would BE the tour!
$800 a pop it is!
They'd only pay him 100 bucks a show
But I want to be able to afford to see Alex...
I heard that Alex refuses to play with the rest of the Meltons live for some reason. Really sad situation.
Now that there’s 2 Third Eye Blind covers under your belt, it just makes me want a full recreation of their first album in Blink-182 style
man, now you made me think about a version of “losing a whole year” and i won’t rest until this dream come true
the inevitable Blink-style Motorcycle Drive-By is going to be epic
100% lets settle for the "A collection" album released in 2006.
@@mrcsflp please
@@henchlife4224 I was thinking a Going Country version
I can't stop watching the soda can moving around next to the keyboard. I've named him Felix. He's part of the band now.

The closing three song run is one of the best trio of songs in all of music history
The Background is one of my favourite songs of all time, it encapsulates how I feel by the sound of the music alone. The lyrics then only add
Third Eye Blind self-titled fucking slams. “Motorcycle Drive-by” is an absolute monster of a track
Absolutely love that album.
100%
Not that I mind the little skits at the start - but it's nice to have it jump right into the song! Congrats on the new Album!
Ya I wouldn’t mind saving the skits for the end
He should just upload 2 version, I'll watch both
The skits are pretty dumb from what I've seen ;D
Another Banger, as always. You're basically updating my childhood into my favorite genre.
The drum work here is other-level. A lot like Blink songs, you have the Barker patterns down. The whole thing is fantastic and works brilliantly, but those drums really elevate it from the original.
Thought the exact same.
Always just blasting...
Love it. ❤️
Well said. Agreed
Lots of people mention how spot on the vocals are, but shit, the drums… that’s what makes these tracks really work. They’re just so good
The mic stand falling and you trying to grab it is awesome. Thanks for keeping that in the video. Freaking awesome video! What a blessing bro.
Just about any Third Eye Blind cover is a reason to rejoice. This one is no exception. Such talent! Love your work, Alex!
Your Semi-Charmed cover is how I found your channel. Loved everything you’ve released before and since. Thanks for all the music!

Dude, that arrangement in the second verse is perfection.
Right??
I was wondering how he was gonna do it, because you can’t do a “musical cut” twice in a row, and god damn he did not disappoint
Sooo good

Enjoyed the song and enjoyed watching the pop-can move back and forth beside the keyboard
Dude a pop-punk run of The Background, Motorcycle Drive By, and God of Wine would be incredible. Great work!
Those flams synchronized to the vocals at 0:50, just delicious.
