I would argue that Everlong is already an emo anthem without being an emo song. The lyrics of wanting a moment to last forever is emo af.
It was, without the typical emo music influence. Now it is!
I would say almost Emo…. The original is a little more loud and harsh which is more rock… this version is a bit more emotionally soft (Emoish).

I agree and this interpretation keeps the feel of the song, but makes it stand alone also.. and depending on your mood.. the original or this one will get in the feels at the right time..
I legit was just thinking this. I would have put everlong in the caregory of "should never be covered/done different " but i would have been wrong after hearing this version

To me, Everlong is on the very short list of songs that should never deviate from its original form, as I feel it's damn perfect the way it is, but I do have to say, I LOVE this version. Well done, sir.
I feel you, from what i've read, Everlong was a very close and personal song for Dave Grohl, which is why when he couldn't find anyone he sees fit to play the instruments to this song he just like "fuck it" and play all of the intruments himself during the original recording of Everlong

I love how the skits remind me something straight out of a Skate 3 or old Tony Hawk game when you accept missions. Not to mention this song has elements of like all sorts of pop punk bands. This has some State Champs, Basement, FYS, Taking Back Sunday... He's accomplishing putting ALL of pop punk into one here. Unbelievable.

This (Everlong) is my favourite song. Like, ever. As a career musician I'm always fascinated by the different ways to express and present Grohl's amazing zeitgeist-anthem. This is up there among the great interpretations and does the composition the justice it deserves and respect it demands. Great work.

I'm a 3rd year music college student, I play bass and guitar... A few months ago I broke one of my fingers in several pieces in an accident, had surgery and i'm in therapy now. They say there is a chance that i could play again but that i should be prepared for the worst... Honestly i've never been so afraid in my life and i cry to this song every day.
