Thanks for the kind words! My favourite plate on the Venn is aluminum for sure, together with the force break mod applied. I found the stock polycarbonate plate a little strange (in that the sound is on the 'thin' side especially without any foams, and the vibrations can be a little too distracting for my liking during prolonged typing sessions) while the sound of carbon fibre is too sharp for me - thus aluminum in my view achieves the best balance. For switches, I have yet to land on a particular favourite for the Venn, but it would for sure lean towards clacky/higher pitched switches (think Zaku, Geon Black, Tungstens, etc). I'm especially keen to try MX Blacks and Nixies on the Venn and will probably post a sound test when I get around to doing that!
@@keeberweeb Very nice! I'm glad you're enjoying it :) I definitely agree on the cf plate. Bit too harsh in sound and feel for my liking. I have been experimenting with a PP custom plate from Hype that a number of people seemed to enjoy using, but yesterday i felt compelled to try again on the stock PC plate. GOK mentioned that the PC plate was higher pitched so I decided to see if using a different keycap material would work and opted for the La Vie En Rose by Swagkeys (PBT + ABS) and also threw on Aniya switches by Bsun. I then did a force break mod and taped up the leaf springs, which made the Venn louder and fuller in sound, and also reduced the vibrations. Probably my favourite build on the Venn yet!
@@aj-zh3ki I have some Aniya switches myself and really like them - another one of many switches which I think are perfectly usable stock. I will also try taping up the leaf springs another time to see how it works for me, thank you for sharing your favourite build! :)
Hey! Hope you're doing well! I've been enjoying my Venn config but I think I'm ready to switch it up and to try an alu plate for something a bit different. Are you able to share with me who you got to manufacture yours and an email too if possible? Thank you :)
@@aj-zh3ki Hello! Hope you are well too! I got the alu plate from a Taobao manufacturer (Hyperboring) it was already pre cut so I did not need to send over any plate files. The link is here: m.tb.cn/h.5eGqU8o?tk=egAjdyZ3Pdx. Not sure how convenient it is for you to buy directly from Taobao, but perhaps you could consider using a forwarder service if that would make the process easier.
I will try to experiment with placement of the mic for subsequent videos. However, if your concern is that the sound is coming off a little 'thin', that's because it's really how it sounds in real life with the stock MZ Spring switches. Thanks for the feedback nonetheless!
Nice soundtest, if you dont mind me asking, where did you get the Alu plate?

Sounds awesome! What's your favourite Venn config so far?

you may want to change the placement of the mic a little bit, the audio sounds a bit off
