Been waiting for that classic matchup, enjoyed that one! New masters seem interesting too; will give so many interesting choices when crew building.

I agree, the new masters allow for some cool new interactions and gameplay. I plan on playing more Perdita now for sure

Great battle report as always! Two things re: shielding. It CAN reduce damage from any source, including friendly sources. However, it only ever reduces damage by one, but then the status is lowered by one. At about 16:15, you mention Merris avoiding two damage via shielding- shed still take one and have shielding +1 after.

Glad you enjoyed the battle report. Also thanks for the ruling on shielded, some of the m3 rules we mess up at times

Bit to much new model excitement in this game. Few little rules mistakes, didn't record parts. Still an excellent, fast paced (as usual for you two) battle report where you managed to display the basics of the new model and two new titles on the gaming table. Awesome. I have to say I really love these two titles, premier work from Wyrd.

Yes, shielded can reduce any kind of damage (other than irreducable). So you used it right :)
EDIT: HOWEVER, you can only ever use one shielded at a time. So when you used two shielded at 16:17 for example, you could only have used one and reduced the damage by one.

@@household-gamer6589 I don't think it's even possible to play a game of malifaux and not forget any rules 😂

Some dated models you’ve got there. Nice paint job though

This new Master gimmick is a huge mistake. Cash grab that will prevent new players from considering Malifaux. I am not buying a box of three models just to get the alternate Master. Should have been a single box. Even then, adds so much esoteric knowledge (2 versions of how many Masters?) That casual players are going to leave. 2e was more streamlined with special upgrades for each Master. Way better system.

Couldn’t disagree more, a “cash grab” would be if they only made new sculpts for all the masters, but they have completely revised all masters gameplay with new options; can’t imagine the play testing involved to try and keep it balanced. That’s an evolution to an already great game. The game plays fine without the new upcoming book/cards, but for seasoned players the new choices will surely be welcomed. 3rd edition is a cleaner, Superior rules set to 2e; likely most players don’t even bother looking back to 2e.
