      Whatever your takes vs what your sponsors would like you to say, but that you don't say if not just to please them once in a while (a man has to put steak on his table, and I've learned to read those cues between the lines and that you give in those occasions), that CGI intro is awesome! 👍

    Owner and operator of a REPAIRED SpeedWoofer. It failed after the warranty (plate amps generally suck) I called while they were getting around to making the MK II. They shipped me, for free, a new amp. The son was my phone buddy and he was great.
    I feel like I joined a family.... at a very reasonable cost.

      I had the same issue with my amp. They trouble shot with no questions asked. Quickly shipped me a new amp and stayed on the phone with me with instructions to replace it. Customer service is top notch.

      @@CandBLawnCare I had a Velodyne that weighed over a hundred pounds and it ate amps. They don't do in-home repairs. When the 'philes' are talking about this crap, they don't consider failure and repair and replacement often.
      I had a Sherwood Micro-CPU FM (only) tuner. When it worked it was at the top of the heap. It became a $2,000 anchor in 1984. After my Maritn Logans Aeriuses crapped out, I decided to go tried and true tech with NO maintenance issues.

    I have the Speedwoofer 10s MKII and love it in my bedroom two channel setup. It's from the first run of the new model and RSL offered it for the old model price, so I am a happy customer. I don't feel like I'm missing anything meaningful when they offer great sound, features (wireless built in, LFE, high level inputs, RCA inputs, RCA daisy chaining, variable phase control, and DSP), and great customer service!. I don't feel a need for an app nor do I want one more thing tethered to my phone.

    Can't wait till the 12S comes out! I have 2 10S mkii's and they hit hard and are great!! They are always sold out, I believe I had to wait a month n a half or something close. Definitely worth the wait!! Get one or 2 and u won't regret it folks. Hope you test the 12S when it's released finally! It has a remote and various settings for movies, music etc...it looks promising for sure!!!

    I have a pair of them! Slightly older front ported 10s and the new MkII. They work well together and will rip your guts out! Movies and music are at another level. I did purchase the wireless transmitter but I think my positioning was negatively impacting it and was somewhat hard to pair to two different era speakers. I ditched it and put them in the same corner of the room and the dead spots are pretty much non-existent now and they are so tight and can really reach low especially with a pair of them. I can also attest to the fact that it's accurate. I believe it is the RSL signature waveguide that makes the sub act like a sealed enclosure while also boosting those lows and SPL with the port. Also the port is quiet so these suckers whether it's the older front facing or the rear facing seem crazy accurate. Love it!

    These are simply the best value in subwoofers at the $450 price point. They are fast and produce deep accurate high quality bass. I bought two last year and run them off the speaker level inputs and my system improved to a level that made me regret not implementing dual subs from the beginning of my journey. Anyone that purchases these will be happy. Nemo Propaganda also did an excellent review of these.

    Hey Randy! For someone who acknowledges they move and change speaker configs regularly I'm surprised you didn't appreciate SVS's setup app more. In my use case, I use more than one speaker setup in my listening room (basically small vs. large) and can setup, store and recall different configs for each using the SVS app. Also, to get the best setup possible as efficiently as possible, I pass a test tone to the both the main and subs centered on the desired crossover frequency and then sit in my listening chair with a decibel meter and tweak the phase of the subs from the SVS app until the meter maxes out. My small speakers' crossover is 80Hz and phase is 35 degrees. The large speakers' crossover is 60 and phase is 80 degrees. Lot simpler to toggle between them on my phone than crawling around to change settings on the back -- even more important when you have two subs (SB1000 Pro's) like I do. As always, I appreciate your work and will remain a patron.

    This company has been everywhere after I started researching options for a sub to add to my 2 channel system. I was looking at a SVS SB-1000 pro to begin with until I got wind of the RSL 10s. RSL quoted for the 10s and shipping to Western Australia only $60 more than it costs to buy a PB-1000 pro here and to my understanding the RSL out performs it in every respect apart from the app, looks and size( if you value any of those things). This will be my first proper sub and very exited to see how it will sound with some edifier s3000 pro bookshelves. Fingers crossed I can snag one!

I may build some passive hi pass filters using really high end caps down the road. BTW: those cheap inline filters from Amazon are a waste of money. I suspected as much but bought anyway. Randy! Check this out! There's a simple tweak to double your sub's output (3 dB boost). No. I'm not joking. I spoke to the nice folks at SVS (call them and ask them yourself), and they confirmed a way I found to gain 3 dB of output. It's something that I stumbled across when tinkering with my subs:
    If you use BOTH RCA plugs (i.e. left AND right, as opposed to only the single LFE input), then you will gain 3 dB of output. Double your output, with a single plug. If you've got a mono subwoofer cable, get a one female to two male RCA cable Y adapter, and use both L and R inputs. The reason? Simple. You double your INPUT gain, so you double your OUTPUT. Cheapest and easiest subwoofer tweak EVER. Try it. You can thank me later. 👍

    Raaandayyyy! about RSL, they are a SoCal company based in the San Fernando Valley where Howard Rodgers, the dad, successfully marketed knock-off JBL monitor style speakers at very reasonable prices. they weren't to my liking as i wasn't fond of the JBL sound. i was more into the Infinity and Dahlquist plus other flatter, less efficient speakers nor did i like the horn-based Klipsch (still not my bag) but i recognized the value and it got a lot of kids started into audio. starting with one location, RSL blossomed into a small chain of stores, one of which had a department called U

I asked the company about a configuration where I shared the subwoofer between a 2-channel music system in my dining room home theater system in my living in an open concept living space. The company reached out to try to help me troubleshoot the setup. I didn't end up sounding the way I wanted with my 2-channel setup, so it's on full-time HT duty (sounds great) but I was thrilled by the level of customer care they provide.

    I purchased a 10s Mk II about a year ago and have been very happy with it. I delayed purchasing a sub for years as my main speakers do quite well with bass. So I was pleasantly surprised when the bass (especially with movies) became fuller and deeper and not localized. I set the crossover at 60hz and that relieves much of the bass burden on the AVR and mains. At 450, it's a steal! The preorder process is acceptable to me for a company that works hard to bring top value for buck and relies on word of mouth advertising rather than incessant Internet ads (svs). Oh.. musically the RSL doesn't disappoint either!

    Listening to this on my pc from a Fosi TB10D (remake) and Klipsch R-50M (waiting on a review for these newer bookshelves.) Love the sound. like most Klipsch of the size they are lacking some bottom end. I think I found the sub to complete the system. (minus a usb DAC. High end MOBO with one of the best built in DACs so its not as important at the moment)
    My question is, do you plan on getting into PC audio and differences in MOBO Built in sound cards? seems a fairly Niche area though so no sweat!

    I'm seriously considering this sub. I love all the extra control and inputs/outputs that most in this class lack... and its only 10" (holds its weight against many 12" subs). It also extends upwards of 160 Hz with pretty flat response... a good pairing with my good bookshelf speakers I use for my mains and surrounds. Lack of app... That has no impact for me. Once dialed in, it will stay setup as-is.

    I didn't "feel" the bass in my music until i got a SB3000. Had a SB2000, but there's a world of difference stepping up. Totally changes the listening experience for the better. The low end just keeps staying strong. Haven't heard this one, but it would interesting to hear comparisons as you review more subs.

    • @NosEL34
      @NosEL34 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a SB2000pro. Now it's a good sub, better than some others I tried, and I couldn't live without the PEQ unless I have a minidsp or Dirac with a sub..but the 2000 doesn't give that low end that stays strong like you mentioned. So the 3000 is that much better?

      The ported PB2000 it can be very good value too, I recently picked up two PB2000's for $500/ea on the SVS outlet, I find them to be pretty fast and punchy after tuning with REW/MiniDSP. But they are primarily for movies which they really slam in a mid size treated room.

      @lazzzzze1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @PleesJakMeHof the tone of the 3k is just deeper and stronger, giving a more premium, live, professional, expensive, overall better feel to the music. Its not just volume, it sounds better at the same volume.

    • @theoriginalcraig
      @theoriginalcraig ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't disagree with your results, but I will add that if you have the PB 2000 Pro, you can simply plug the ports with their port tuning feature, thereby giving yourself a sealed 2000 series sub, and with a larger enclosure, no less. Best of both worlds. I've got a pair of them, and after having all the adjustment controls (PEQ, etc.) accessible from my phone (read: my comfy seat in the sweet spot), I just can't go back. If I'd had more cash on hand, I would've gotten the 3000 series, but hey...one does what one can.
