The video review takes an in-depth look at the RSL Speed Woofer 12S, providing a comprehensive overview of its specs, build, and performance. At a price of $799, this 12-inch subwoofer with a 500-watt RMS amplifier offers impressive bass response, going down to 16Hz, and comes with features like four DSP presets and a physical remote control. While highlighting the monstrous sound and remarkable value, the review also points out some cons, such as a large enclosure and lack of app control, and compares the subwoofer to alternatives in the market, ultimately endorsing it as an attractive option for audio enthusiasts.

The fact that this sub has far better specs in driver alone compared to 2x the price Klipsch's 16" crappy driver is legendary. Not to mention the almost tline/voigt pipe like port design. What more can you ask. I like that the finish is cheap as they didn't waste even a single penny in looks department.

@@joentell It sounds like he's talking about the newest Klipsch 16" that was on sale for around $1500 a couple weeks ago. Coincidentally, RSL was running a sale for two 12S for the same price. People underestimate how cone size increases area and think two 12" equals more output than a single 16".
I still think the RSL 12S is a better value. Especially when you compare something like the Paradigm X12. Sure it comes with advanced DSP and a microphone, and slightly better build quality. But you're still only getting a 12" driver with 150 more watts for double the price.

They came out with that monster right after I bought my 2nd 10 from them. I'm not disappointed. The waveguide tech makes amazingly clean bass movies to music. RSL knows what they are doing and they keep the design minimal enough to work for anyone while keeping cost out of the least important part and putting it into the sound. Amazing speakers.

I paid less than that for a 12-inch sealed sub from BK Electronics in Europe. Build quality is exceptional, and it has real veneer on it and is hand-built. That whole "you have to accept shit class vinyl" on an $800 sub is nonsense. RSL can and should do better. But yeah, looks like a beast. Alternatives do exist that are close on price, like the new Klipsch RP1200SW and I'd probably rather go with that. I'd expect Klipsch build quality to be better. And they definitely look better in general imo.

I think there are always compromises. The company has to stay in business. I don't know what their expenses are like but I would hope they make enough to stick around and provide a good life for their families. I always wonder how companies can afford to ship and store large items like these.

@@joentell Sure. But seriously, how much can quality vinyl - vinyl ffs - cost to put on a sub? Every sub manufacturer under the sun puts at least fake black ash vinyl on and most make it last and look good. It's one of my biggest peeves with RSL subs, they by all accounts perform great, but they look pretty awful. WAF on these is nonexistent. I myself would hesitate to put one in my living room and I have IKEA furniture in said living room already...

@@KimmoJaskari I think they're all wrapped nearly the same now with the seam on the bottom instead of at the corners. I think what makes it look less premium compared to some others is the sharp corners. Rounding the edges makes the subs look more appealing imo.
