- In this video I take delivery of my 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance with Hardware 4 (HW4) from my service center in Loveland, CO!
This is Tesla number 7 for me. I have owned three Model 3's, a Model S Plaid, Model X, and now this is my second Model Y.

I would suggest before you get yours don’t just do a test drive, but also rent one for a week (on Turo, for instance) to really get a feel for the one you think you want ‘cause you might think you want a model 3 performance, but living with it for a week you might go for a model Y long range or even opt for a 3-4 year old Model S long range plus. All are great cars but you really have to drive one for a week to get a feel for which one works best for you.

The amount of white tesla's is insane in that lot. I mean it's to be expected since it was the free color for so long. It will be interesting to see how many more midnight silver metallic ones will be hitting the roads, now that that's the included color.
Something about Brandon's videos are just great. He doesn't really do too much editing so we can tell that everything is basically raw. And there's no terrible music mixed in or anything. Just a very aesthetic video to watch and learn from.
I expect to see a TON of midnight silver now 😂. And thanks! I’m trying to just get in the habit of making long form videos in addition to my regular short form. I also don’t want to fluff videos up too much with too much editing

I live up the road from the Fremont factory (originally from Detroit) and the Tesla’s around here always make me think about what the Model T must have been like a hundred years ago. Everywhere and all the same color. There’s so many white teslas here that I’ve literally gotten into other people’s Tesla and realized it wasn’t mine. I’ve also had people try getting into mine while I’m watching TH-cam and they realize someone is in “their” car and they were not actually at their car lol. I’m glad to see the dark grey color is going to be the free one so there’s less white ones on the road. Gorgeous color but need more variety

Probably one of the best fitted model Y I’ve seen. Do you know if this was Fremont or Austin built? Congrats on your vehicle!…..additionally, I used to be one of those never-Tesla/EV types. One day for fun I stopped by a showroom and took a Model 3 for a test drive. I couldn’t stop smiling after mashing the pedal. It was like the ultimate go-kart for adults. I eventually wanted to buy an American car and I remembered the Tesla. Took one home a few years ago and can’t complain at all. I’ve taken it on long distance road trips, only spent $60 in three years in maintenance (cabin filters), and love the autopilot on the freeway. Total game changer for real! Anyone else on the fence about a Tesla, just give it a try since you have nothing to lose. You don’t have to be a tree hugger, an avocado toast enjoyer, etc (if you do like that, more power to you!) to enjoy the driving experience.
"only spent $60 in three years in maintenance" How are your tires doing? I've seen people with Tesla's burning through tires, although it's probably because they drive fast, so how are your tires and how fast do you drive?

Congrats, I decided on a 2023 LR as a fam vehicle although I like the Uberturbines. Tire replacement & rotations are easier. I do feel they could go with manually folding seats & door mechanisms. Less things to potentially fail over time.
That’s why I’m getting Martians, I like the square setup because it’ll be better long term

check your projectors for figure prints. the headlights need to be on to see it.. all model 3 and y with matrix headlights have this issue, even the new replacement parts have issues too.

Your model Y performance is far better built than mine which I took delivery in February. Do you have detailed pictures of rear doors/trunk etc.
A couple of points:
1. Check if your rear seats fold easily and aligned.
2. Seems your trunk is aligned properly
3. My rear doors sound like crap while front doors sound fine. In yours I realize that your rear doors also sound solid. Am I right?
4. How are your Rear windows, do they have a significant wobble?
Good to see that you didn't receive a piece of crap of a car like I did.
I recently looked at online car buyers for car value and it is not good. An almost new model y performance is offered around 45k plus minus 2-3k. Their resale value is not good.

Agree, went from 2019 Model 3 to 2024 Model Y Performance. My Model 3 was well built but the Model Y is notiiceably next level in terms of fit & finish. This should be expected though after years of refinements.

Performance for the win. Track mode lets you disable regen braking and you can drive it like an ice car

After 7 teslas i can assume you came to prefer the white interior over the black one. I do love the black interiors but i hate the wood looking trim Tesla have with it. so i am thinking about getting a white interior its just i had never owned a car with that color interior and i am more worry that i will get tired and bored of the color after awhile. i am not too worry about the cleaning aspect as i heard it is not really bad as people think. what is your advise, i hope to be putting my order next month or so. Thank you
White interior never gets old. You could always cover the wood trim if you got black interior

How can you tell if you got Hardware 4 I’m confused I purchased one last month and it makes no mention of the updated cameras…
They are staying pretty tight lipped about it but you fan check easily. S/X/Y have HW4 now and the cameras have a red tint on them

Quick question, so I test drove a model Y in April and the speakers sounded really bad. I don’t know if that was just the one I test drove or if it’s all Tesla model Y’s
It was likely the sound settings not being configured right or not at all. The sound system in the model 3/Y is amazing. Better than most luxury cars I’ve been in!

Currently the S, X, and Y come with HW4. The S/X come with the new HD radar but that’s not active yet. Model 3 will get HW4 with highland. Model Y should refresh next year, which is why it got HW4 already!
