@@AndrewStorerDP that’s great to hear…. We need the sport to move forward with brands doing more projects like this, it’s bridges the gap from what us mere mortals feel is this mystical world of “elite runners” and gives us an incredible insight into the hard work that goes in to running Clayton’s sort of times 👊
What an amazing wife! Love seeing your family moments! My boys just ran their second track meet. My 12 year old was really discouraged to be 8th and 9th in his group. But he shaved significant time off of his finishes. That’s what it’s about. 👏🏻👏🏻
Love to hear it! Good luck to your sons this season! And yes, Ashley is the best. So grateful to have these moments with my girls captured so beautifully.
Very thankful for this series. Such a great inspiration. Thanks Clayton and team. PS. That shot with the balloons in the background at the end was phenomenal.
The running community is so awesome like that-we may run different speeds but there is a shared experience at the heart of it all. Thanks for watching!
You still did great!!! Mantz is extremely fit but some people start off strong and maintain, and others will slowly build up to it. I believe in you p.s. im also currently struggling with getting my fitness back after track building for cross
That was still a very good showing, man! This episode is so raw. This series is so immersive. I like how honest you are that you…even YOU… sometimes struggle with how you do in races. It helps all of us who love this sport but sometimes feel frustrated by it. Tomorrow I’m trying a half marathon distance run for time. Let’s see what happens. This was a great way to end my evening. Thanks again for a great series.
@@_Clayton_Young_ PR!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your training, man! I did the Salt Lake City Marathon back in April. And that was my fastest half marathon time (it was also my fastest marathon time) (I’ve only been doing these since May of 2023. So I’m not too fast yet). Thanks again!
I love how the car let you guys pass. Reminded me of when I ran Hood to Coast in Oregon. I was running through Sandy and there was a green light, but the cars saw me running and let me pass. I'm not even a *fast* runner 3:20 PR and 25 minutes away from BQing but running brings out the best in humanity in so many ways. Why I love this sport. This video series is so wholesome. You inspire me as a runner. Bless you.
I really like this series because of the tone. Quiet, hard working, perseverance. The cinematography, the score, it all matches with Clayton's low key and humble personality. No extra TH-cam artificial enthusiasm, just work - physical and mental work. I'm not even interested in the marathon but this series is excellent.
I wish we had all those paved bike/walk/run trails in Provo back when I was there. It would have been so much better. This is a great series! Loved your interaction with the people at the stadium taking photos/videos. Oh, and the VIP porta potties were probably a nice touch too! My friend who lives in Boulder ran the race too. He did it in 1:40 but said he was slowed by waiting for family members. He's also 80 years old!
Thanks to Des and Nobody Asked Us for introducing me to this series!! It has been a gem. Love following along. Congrats to you both on your results at the Boulder Boulder 🎉
Man. This series is so, so good. Thanks for being willing to put this out there for us all to have a window into what it takes to compete at the very top level of the sport.
Clayton you are doing an amazing job with this series and your training! Thank you for sharing with us just a little bit of what it takes to be at your level. To the Videography team your hours and late nights are not going to waste. This an absolutely amazing TH-cam experience
Yeahh, been waiting for this since Thursday!! Another banger, the fact that we can witness the raw emotions, champions in the making and ups and downs of olympian trainings here on TH-cam for free is mind boggling, I don’t deserve this. To me this is a privilege!
Certainly, it's one of the best marathon training vlogs on TH-cam, akin to a film for runners worldwide with its stunning cinematography and music! While not all runners are the same, consistent running over weeks, months, and years will lead to improvements the more you train!
For us, your and Connor fans and running fans, this series is worthy of PPV Clayton. So refreshing to see an elite like you being so honest and down to earth. Proud of you.
I never wait in anticipation for a TH-cam video. But I am definitely waiting in anticipation for your next installment. An absolute joy to watch. I can’t recommend it enough.
I remember running Hobble Creek when I was a walk on at BYU with Sherald James. It was a tough run for me but I enjoyed being up that canyon. I wish I could have been as fast as you and Connor, but I'm Loving watching you guys run. Keep at it!
Comparison is the thief of joy. You’re an absolute legend Clayton and your time will come. Do you think taking the pacing job over from Connor for a few workouts would help that 3 steps mentality?
Great question. This is a tricky balance. I do think that leading would help me more mentally, but I have to be careful about not crossing the line and burning out physically or getting injured. Typically towards the later half of a build is when I can really close the gap and start to trade the lead more with Conner.
So cool to see the behind the scenes of this race. Just another workout with some race atmosphere! Loved Ashley's take here that you always smile and interview well but there's a fire yearning for more. Is it getting warmer in Utah yet? How do you stay comfortable running in the heat or do you just embrace the suffering? :)
Great insight. Ashley really is my superpower. The heat of Utah is no joke. But, Paris will be hot and humid, so honestly it's a good thing and I just embrace it. Your body adapts.
I’m so glad ASICS are backing this series, this is what the running world needs!
And they aren’t “blocking” athletes from other brands, really cool to see that

They have been incredible to work with. 🤘🏼awesome company.

This is a cool moment in running history. The top two U.S marathoners training together and documenting their weeks. Very fun stuff.
Thanks for being a part of it!
I feel like this series should be on Netflix. Shoutout to Andy for the production, style and creativity. All the best in Paris Clayton!
Yes, Andrew is a wizard. Thanks for watching!
Watching Clayton and Conner makes me proud to be an American.
I’m Irish but I still agree with you
The way I would eat up a long format documentary after the Olympics.. those last 2 min were pure joy to watch
🤞!!! There is so much Andrew shoots that never makes it in this docu-series. A post Olympics documentary would be epic!
Won’t lie, this is my favorite running series on TH-cam 😊! Keep them coming… 🙏🏾
I’m at a loss for words. Your honesty and “struggle” brings such a reality to us amateurs. Incredibly well done series
Thanks! Struggle is part of the process and really makes you appreciate when fitness comes and everything is clicking. All aboard the struggle bus!
A world class athlete with this amount of humility and authenticity. Clayton, you are a gift to us all. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Thank you! 🥲🥲🥲
Broke my heart when Mantz left coach hanging with the fist bump!
🤣🤣🤣

Broke my heart when your mom left your dad
I was in the stadium and our entire running group about lost our minds with that finish! So proud of our USA runners!
There is no finish quite like Bolder Boulder! That roar. Practically needed ear plugs. 😂 Thanks for cheering!

So epic! Andrew has been crushing it. 🎥 Thanks for watching!
Clayton, thank you for this series, and for the transparency into the ups and downs of racing. I'm riveted, and pulling for you

great story telling and athlete. Curious why Clayton have both armstrap and chest strap.
The chest strap doubles as a holder for my mic. My arm strap is a 24 Hour heart rate monitor to track recovery. A little overkill, I know. 😂
